    I've worked out on traditional heavy bags th-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

    anyone notice how he practice his weaker side more? other than the combo practice, most of his attacks are his jabs and left hook. a true champion for working more on his weaker hand.

    • @Tonsofice
      @Tonsofice 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Yeah, his left hand improved significantly, if you watch his older fights, you'll see him throws his right hand way more often. Now he specializes in the left hook and jab, which weren't really his biggest weapons before but now they are his most dangerous punches

      When you train in boxing, eventually your lead side becomes the “stronger side.” I noticed that once I stopped weight lifting and did strictly boxing for 3 years, that my left bicep was significantly bigger than my right. It didn’t make sense at first, since I’m always orthodox… But then I realized that almost 70% - 80% of my shots in sparring and bagwork were from my lead (left side).
      Maybe that’s just my own unique quirk, or because I generally like to fight midrange or outside (because as an out-fighter, my comfortable distance is off the lead foot, meaning I can throw way more volume while feeling safe).
      But one thing I realized was that there wasn’t anything too unique about the fact that my left bicep was much larger and that I threw significantly more from my left, than right. I mean, I’ve heard it being told a countless times that the best punch in boxing is the jab. And as I developed a snappy jab, it became natural for me to double/triple up on the lead side to break rhythm and predictability between combos, but more so because my left became much more faster and somewhat stronger than my right. To the point where my right hook and even cross doesn’t feel as poignant as my lead hook or step-in jab feels… maybe it’s in my head but I feel way faster and stronger off my lead arm.
      Idk why I wrote so much, but I just wanted to share of my my personal experiences which I never really shared or thought in depth about. But your comment made me realize that I throw way more off my lead then my dominant hand (right), not because I’m consciously training it… but because it actually became stronger than my “dominant” hand lol…
      Also, look at some boxers during their weigh-ins (when they do the bicep pose). Notably, Roy Jones has a disproportionately larger left bicep than his right, even though he is an orthodox fighter. I noticed this trend across multiple orthodox fighters.
      Just some thoughts!

    • @hoanirutledge1048
      @hoanirutledge1048 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh even though your strong side still has all the power and accuracy. Your weak side is still going to be throwing most of the punches

      Yeah I think every body is different and have different mechanics I cannot throw my left hook like Canelo does I feel like it would jack up my shoulder as well.y left hook is extremely hard but I put my body and twist into it Canelo throws it straight from the shoulder without much pivot
