    I was born in Dickinson in 1956 transplanted to Portland in 1962. I'm coming to visit in may or june. I'm retired now. I might come back to Dickinson and live out the rest of my days. Thanks for this video. 👍Great job.

    Also, good scenery there. You are close to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Medora.

    This is less of an oil place than Williston, right?

    • @LivinginNorthDakota
      @LivinginNorthDakota  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dickinson is geographically on the south outskirts of the oilfield. Oilfield service companies have yards/shops in Dickinson that service the Bakken. Watford City & Williston are dead center in the heart of the oilfield action. Give us a call or setup a meeting where we can talk through everything. calendly.com/david-vanassche-calendar/initial-game-plan

      Thanks for the recommendation! The views from 4 Bears and the lake are wonderful. Unfortunately - we don’t get a lot of clients interested in moving to New Town from out of state. As a real estate brokerage service we have focused our attention and resources on the biggest cities our clients are researching moving to. On that note - if anyone is looking to buy a home and move to North Dakota - give us a call or text so we can connect. 701-253-1872

    Dickinson is oil field country, rent and house prices are very high.

    • @LivinginNorthDakota
      @LivinginNorthDakota  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s true. Although everyone’s wages, not just oilfield, are higher than average. I just had a call with a guy considering moving to Dickinson on a fixed income and had to explain that Dickinson (and most of North Dakota) is affordable only when you take into account the higher average wages.

    • @Living-In-Phoenix-Scottsdale
      @Living-In-Phoenix-Scottsdale 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @riviclaye615 That sounds accurate. I don't know of many people moving to the area that aren't in one of these fields... you can't afford to live on $15/hr anywhere in America.

    • @haleighklemm
      @haleighklemm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s just a way for ND to funnel in as much people as possible to make more money. So many people are deceived and desperate they think everyone who lives here makes good money. THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!! unless you work in the oilfield (which isn’t what it used to be!! ) or you’re a doctor or some other profession. If you got a regular customer service job you’re going to live paycheck to paycheck. You know why? BC THEY THINK EVERYONE MAKES GREAT MONEY. So they upped the rent, property taxes etc. I’m from ND so I know all too well!! This madness needs to end. There’s more outsiders than actual ND born natives. The greed is ruining my hometown and bringing in a lot of people who should NOT be here. Call me an A.hole but it’s the truth. You guys ruined our home, with your greed. Move here if you want to be surrounded by Mexicans, illegal foreigners, and races that hate on white people. I said what I said. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Many people really enjoy what Dickinson and other parts of the state have to offer… but not all areas are right for everyone! Some people prefer living on the beach in Southern California or fishing in the Pacific Northwest or the warm dry desert of Phoenix. I’ll be doing another series of videos soon called “10 Reasons You’ll HATE xxx City”

  • @haleighklemm

    I’m from Dickinson, it’s not the same place as it used to be. With all the people moving here there’s no sense of community anymore. You can literally feel the tension between races. It’s not a good thing. It’s bringing in a lot of crime, drugs and just ruining our once great town. It’s all about greed and money. Disappointed but not surprised. I said what I said 🗣️

      It’s going down hill fast, crime is getting bad and housing is outrageous. I moved here in 2020, back then you could go to Walmart leave your car running unlocked and not even think twice about it. Not anymore! The schools are horrible, roads are in shambles. We have horrible leadership. Diversity is ruining this town. The darker it gets the worse crime gets. Drugs are flooding into town. I’m just about over it! I moved here to get away from this crap. Time to packed it up and go!

    • @RobJackmehoff

      It never was the place ot used to be. The people that grew up here don't like people moving in. They are all close minded assholes that the only thing they know are rotting teeth, chewing tobacco, trucks, farms and killing shit. Most people that live here that are natives have never seen the outside of their own four walls of their house

    • @jessstone7486
      @jessstone7486 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like what you're describing is cultural, not the town itself. All over the country, greed and money are paramount! Small town, big town, cities.... the degradation is everywhere. Truly unfortunate. But its up to the people to make things right again; its a cliche, but we have to "be the change we want to see".

      @@haleighklemm Dickinson and the people that have lived here all their lives or most of it, are some of the most close minded, ignorant people on the planet. It goes without saying at least the whole damn west end of ND is. North Dakota people are as big of liars, cheaters and stealers I have ever met. YES the resident ones. THAT'S A FACT

      The crime rate is in fact, HIGHER than ever since the oil boom. Before we had a sense of community and were always there to offer a helping hand. Now? Not so much. A lot of the natives don’t like what’s happening in our hometown, so people aren’t as quick to help. Can you blame them? No. With illegals flooding in and immigrants and racial tensions yes the crime rate HAS GONE UP. Dickinson when I was growing up RARELY had people of color, now that’s all you really see. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Had new neighbors move in and where did they come from? Mexico. What did they offer another neighbor for helping them move in? COCAIN. Yup, we’re really bringing in the best of the best. Not. Yall realize they do this bs on purpose to predominantly white communities? Weird. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wish they would all GET OUT
