    Since this guy is obviously not from Bismarck, I’ll let you know the truth about the area. Bismarck is my favorite town in North Dakota. I grew up there and it really is the best for young families. The schools, aside from a few “inner city” schools are absolutely amazing. The teachers truly care about their students. There is a lot of opportunity for high school students to start learning a trade or take advanced placement courses. The community college is top notch and you’ll get a great education for a rather inexpensive price. The outdoor activities is the main draw for a lot of people that live here. If you have a boat or not, there are a lot of places in the area to swim or hang out on a beach. You can hunt minutes from town. There are lots of places to run a dog off leash outside of town. The fishing is the best in the state along the river and up at the big lake in the spring and summer. There were constantly new restaurants and shopping coming to Bismarck. Some of my favorite places include Old 10, Broadway Grill, Mayas, Charras, Krolls, and Little Cottage. The shopping is great. I know he focused on Costco…honestly I don’t shop at Costco. Scheels is great. The grocery stores are all clean with a wide variety of items and specialty departments. The mall has a variety of different apparel stores and downtown/strip malls in the area have the boutique stores. During the Fourth of July this place really comes alive. There is an awesome rodeo in Mandan. The Capital puts on a great free fireworks show. There is a great parade in Mandan. In the fall, you get true small town feelings by attending Friday night football games and street fairs. There are constantly events at the Civic Center including sports shows, craft fairs, concerts, monster trucks, among other shows. The area is very safe. There is a large police force for the population. Housing is a bit more expensive compared to other areas but still manageable for many. If you aren’t able to afford a new build in the areas he showed you. The Solheim, Dorothy Moses, Sunrise, and Liberty elementary school areas are nice places to live with great neighbors. Bismarck truly has everything you could want. The residents truly care about each other and you get that small town feel while still having plenty of amenities of a larger town.

    I wouldn't expect him to go inside almost every building and every park or whatever for free. He's going out of his way to take us on a brief tour. I'm from NZ and i just love the American landscapes, modern homes and the country side. Getting a green card is a bit of mission though then there's the likelihood of me getting a job there but this city looks very tranquil, away from all the drama. Thanks for the tour!

    Does Bismarck-Mandan have UBER or Lyft and public transportation?

    • @SammyNineFingers
      @SammyNineFingers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a public busing system, but it's not as good as in a place like Fargo. Bismarck-Mandan is a lot more spread out than a place like Fargo, covering about 75% as much area as Fargo with half the population, so public transportation is a bit more expensive to operate, thus they don't have as many stops/busses. UBER and Lyft is pretty widely available though.

    • @jimmytrebert1422
      @jimmytrebert1422 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SammyNineFingers Thank you for this response. I maybe looking moving closer to fargo moorhead but not living in the area in the future, I am from Denver CO. Bismark ND maybe a better option because not far from Fargo I mean.

    • @SammyNineFingers
      @SammyNineFingers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jimmytrebert1422 Bismarck is about a 3 hour drive from Fargo. If you are looking to be closer to the Fargo area you might be better off looking at Casselton, Maplewood, Harwood, or Argusville. Those are about a 5-15 minute drive into Fargo, but homes are bit more affordable.
      If you're looking to be in the Bismarck area be prepared to pay a lot for a house anywhere within 20 minutes of the city. The area is growing faster than they can put up homes, so right now home prices are pretty inflated. The bright side is that winters in Bismarck aren't nearly as bad as they are in Fargo, less cold and less snow.
