Crow Country has been out on PC and PS5 for a while and it already gained a lot of love and praise by everyone, so that last sentence is rendered quite moot Now, whether or not the devs can actually run the game on the aging Switch as smooth as those other platforms is up for debate, considering a LOT of Switch ports tend to be inferior versions compared to their original counterparts

PS1 games were never that bad, and I still play them all the time, so it's not rose tinted glasses. Besides, this game looks more like a 3d version of FFVII's prerendered backgrounds (and presumably Resident Evil's), which obviously didn't wobble.
I didn't buy Crow Country when it was released initially because I was hoping it would come to Switch. This just feels like the perfect game to turn the lights out and play underneath the covers. Even as a full-grown adult.

@@Kerunou no, gamecube, really. Ps1 would require that distortion effect, no texture filtering, things like that. The models here are smooth, and lighting a little too advanced, it's similar to Luigi's mansion in some moments. And the art style also reminds me of Chulip, on the ps2.
Do not buy the game. Look up what patents/ ideas Nintendo is stealing to create a illegal monopoly, trying to force Japanese law outside of Japan, sueing people over wiiu videos, and bribing devs who make emulators to stop. Nintendo isn't worth the money.
I remember people insulted and mocked me when I asked if the game was gonna be on the switch and said that it would fit perfectly on the switch. I guess they were wrong.

Yes, but this game doesn’t have prerendered backgrounds. It’s fully 3D environments. It emulates a similar-ish feeling of PS1 era games that DID use prerendered backgrounds, but these aren’t actually prerendered, which would come with the limitation of not being able to move the camera

Not at all. Why do people that always do "x meets x" never understand that just because something has surface level similarities doesn't mean it's the exact same thing? Whats FF7 about the game? It doesn't have RPG combat, or pre-rendered backgrounds. Same with Parasite Eve? Whats similar, that they're both horror games? Please think before you speak
Beat this on Steam and got all the unlockables, it's very fun and the aesthetic is fantastic. I would love a physical version of this on Switch, if you like old school horror games do not miss it.

FF7 had those early PS1 low-poly, low-detail characters, particularly when moving around or on the world map, though in battle they were still pretty similar to this style. But I really just said it to set up to say Parasite Eve. I considered saying something about how I only meant the character models and not the gameplay, but then I realized I’m just telling a dumb joke, so there’s really no point making it longer for pedantry.
@@nameforcomments4092 FF7 and this are NOTHING Alike what are you even talking about. FF7 overworld models are blockier and sharper, while the battle and FMV models are more detailed and anime. The style crow country has is unique to itself.

I've been EXCITED about this really INTERESTING and BEAUTIFUL pixel art styled horror game what gives a classic Resident Evil vibes, but I've haven't bought it because I've been waiting it's coming for Nintendo Switch and FINALLY Crow Country is coming to Switch already in october 16 until 2 weeks and just in the Spooky Season thank you Nintendo and happy Halloween! 😊❤

I feel like the switch being on pays to gives devs the old school challenge of what n64 creators at the time had to go through I’m going for a retro look in a lot of my things I really think this game is pretty and cool in a lotta ways might give it a buy!
I’ve always had a soft spot for watching TH-camrs play low-res horror games like the Puppet Combo games. Something about the games being low-res really make them really creepy.
There are arrows pointing in directions basically telling you whatever you need to do is in the GENERAL area but unless you use a hinting system it won't tell you.

this game did overwhelmingly well on steam so i'm pretty sure it will do well on switch. I'm surprised it did launch on switch day one.
The art style and graphics are absolutely gorgeous. It's good to see indies finally embracing that PS1 look.
