I am glad you filmed this so well, I don't know why, my parents are both deceased now but they used to live in Crossbank house at one time it upset me watching it come down 😥
Looks like something from Starwars, and a bit scary too, great choice of music, by the way congats for getting your shot of the Midland Pullman published in the railway magazine, cheers . 😆
One of my school friends lived in crossbank house in the 80’s, it would of been about 12 years old then and it looked old, I remember them replacing all the windows with upcv ones.
Hi, I'm trying to track down anyone that knew my father, just to get to know him a little better. He passed away in 2006 and his last address was 51 Summervale House. If you or anyone knew him or of him, any tid bit of information would be much appreciated, thank you
@@dpjones1 thank you, wow you were only 10 doors away! If anything comes to you, please do let me know, his name was Amritpal Singh Mander, thanks again x
Outstanding film... This feels kind of haunting that the flats have been demolished before they find the murderer of Debbie Remorozo who was brutaly murdered in Summervale House back in 2002, this is a kind of sad tribute to the fact that she and her family has been let down by GMP so badly.. R.I.P Debbie Remorozo
Surprised they’re being taken down manually using very high-reach excavators-a lot of these high rise blocks are blown up,or imploded ,using explosives !!

I knew that they couldn't blast them with dynamite as there's way to many houses and main roads close by so it would have been a lot cheaper to blast them with dynamite rather than take them down with bulldozers but if they had been away from a residential area they would have been blasted 100% but the skyline around that area looks very different nowadays as I live in Ashton i visit Oldham regularly for a change of scenery! ashtons got older flats that was built in the early 1960s that are still standing and that have just been renovated for maybe another 20 + years of housing family's! so 1975 flats being demolished is unusual so maybe Oldham Council had plans all along as I knew a few people who lived in summervale house and he got rehoused and put in a right shit-hole up werneth which was far worse than where he was living in the tower blocks!!!
Should never have knocked them, such a waste, all that was needed was to remove the troublesome families and privatis them for professional types or working people.
So glad you captured this. My parents first place they lived together here so much has changed in oldham in the 36 years ive lived here. Thankyou

Did they demolish the Bridgwater and Bowling Green pubs to ?
They do most of the demolition work in Oldham, so I'd say yes.
Who are these affordable homes for though.
👳That answer you're question .😳😡
Thought so 😑😑😶
Not the British.
247 homes pulled down 90 new builds where are these people going in overcrowded Oldham then what a joke .

There are buildings that are up 100 years later after they were built, these haven’t even lasted 60 years
