This is so sad to see. This tower block and the other towers in Grimsby could have all been easily saved and refurbished instead of just being knocked down into a pile of ruble. Such a waste. Same fate happened to the Red Road flats in Glasgow. The country needs to sort out the issue of unnecessary demolition.
what a waste of perfectly good social housing, WHY? what was wrong with it? or was it the people the Council had put in it? I mean, nice to see how it is done, good time-lapse video, but such a waste.....where do you put all those people out of a fifteen storey block, no wonder we are so short of affordable and rentable houses with such short sighted actions as this. From an ex- multi-storey building caretaker, so I DO know what I am talking about.
They should have been detonated like most tower blocks when they’re demolished. I live in Hull across the Humber from here and we’ve had several blocks demolished with explosion on the orchard park estate
@@RWBHere also there is a petrol station not even 100m away. The vibration risks damaging the storage tanks. Then there is also housing not even 20m away from the base of the tower.
The area isnt so good around there it never has been muggings and robberies and anti social behaviour is pretty bad druggies and alcoholics is rife especially near to the freeman st market i wouldnt and dont walk around there during the day not on my own any way there was a problem before especailly around this area of people asking for money the odd 20p or 50p etc i certainly dont like it around there
these were UK council/social housing and very nice places to live at first but then slummy tenants move in and make trouble so it's best to demolish the flats rather than put the slummier tenants into pig stys where they belong.
@@rosewhite--- And you call me childish ??? Great way that you pre-judge peopel les fortubnate than yourself. You just never know they might become model tenants--- unlike yourself I think.
Thanks for showing a video of NOT Nelson House Grimsby Demolition.
Thank you for puting this video to gether
They were put up in 60's and 70's.
Many of there developing issues regarding leaking and damp.

Uhm. What’s the last frame about?
Cool video.
3 months later still no volume for
Needs new tower blocks
Alfred Nobel invented the dynamite in 1866. That's over 150 years ago.
It looks like the demolition company has missed that.
I would want a refund, they only demolished half of it!!
6:36 it looks like a new build!
Dude, if you're going to do time lapse, it has to be from start to finish
It would have cost approx £300,000 to demolish it.
What a waste :(
I USED TO LIVE ON THE 5TH FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had friends living there to they went back to Poland

Apparently the houses behind weren't getting enough sun
It is a shame 😱 Perfectly fine building, seniors needing housing. Homeless needing housing 😬 Veterans needing housing 😬 Absolutely disgusting.😬💸💸💸
It's beacause of grenfel
As Peter Crenshaw, from the Three Investigators, would say:” I’ll buy a double helping of that”
Probably because it's old and older buildings have high amounts of asbestos in then and asbestos is toxic and causes cancer
No explosive demolition due to high asbestos risk
The high rise flats in Grimsby were NOT on West marsh
was the same building in the back next?
is there vids on all of them as ive only seen the complex next to this & towers demo on here

Too much asbestos in it to do that.

I saw that happen.
So this block was demolished, whilst the Grenfell Tower was rebuilt ...
Typical UK madness of Theresa May and Boriski.
Sorry, couldn’t stay awake any longer ?
Have of the demolition....what a gip
Lol time flies by
Not the most inviting neighborhood I have seen.
I hope they removed the tons of asbestos before the knock down

What's the matter? Batt'ries go dead in your time lapse cam?
but, but, Dave Spud 😳
Should have dynamited it.
When you realise theres no explosions, you know it's time to stop watching.
Horrible job from the recycling company.
To bad no volume 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

So where did the slummier tenants go ??????????????????????
@@slimchancetoo slim chance you will understand - but to respond to your childishness and childish name...they went to make newer homes into slums.
@@rosewhite--- Nothing childish about my name it was given me at birth. Mum never wanted it but Dad insisted so there you go.

NO! these flats could have been refurbished and saved😰
