The oldham loop will always be remembered by me as i used to ride the loop with my grandad as he loved train rides. Also the ticket man at oldham mumps (think he was called sean too!!) used to let me print my tickets and even give me blank rolls back in the day around 1990-1995 ish!
I first rode the Oldham Loop in 1988, when I had a cousin living near Shaw & Crompton Station (or "Shaw" as it was then). Even after he moved away, I still went back to ride the line a few times when in the Manchester area. I don't remember ever seeing 156's on the loop, though obviously they did get used looking at one or two still photos on here, usually it was a Pacer train. To see Mumps Station site in a state of abandonment now, and Werneth as a loading bay across the trackbed, still seems strange...
Hi, my grandma recently passed away and she used to run the Railway pub at Oldham mumps but can find very little cottage and info about it. Just wondered if you had anything pls?
Place a seems that it was looted over the years and no one stopped it. Like some places in wm that same thing happened by rich indians and Arabs looting these places.
