- Sergio Perez is an incredibly under appreciated driver. He's scored many podiums over the last few years and has not been recognised by everyone in the F1 community, yet his seat for 2021 at the soon to be Aston Martin team is under threat. I wanted to take a look at his career so far and explain my thoughts on the situation.

i am yet to be aware if checo has a seat for 2021/2022. However, he is such a legend for me in my heart, and he shows that he has some serious skill in the midfield. I really do hope he has a seat, even if it is in a backmarker team I just want to see him on that graphics on the side of my screen.
Yes I think he deserves a seat somewhere, he's great for a midfield team and brings lots of experience!

With Perez now out, many of us can see him going through this routes
I will categorise it by "Ideal" and "Realistic"
Here's some of the options
1. Retire for a few years like Schumacher and Alonso and then fill in available seats (Realistic)
2. Going to Formula E or as i like to call it "F1 but for failed F1 drivers, F2 champions and Retired drivers" (Realistic [sort of])
3. Blancpain GT (Or any non-open wheeler Series) (Realistic)
4. Negotiate a deal with the larger teams (Ideal)
5. Take on reserve driver role with the big teams (Realistic and sort of Ideal)
6. Fully retire (Realistic)
7. Buy/Make a team? (wait is this even ideal)
8. *INDYCAR* (Freedom™ Ideal and Realistic af)
9. *rallying*, could work (Realistic [sort of])

I personally want Vettel/Perez as I think Seb would be great as a brand ambassador for Aston Martin. Lance deserves a seat in F1 though. I hope Checo gets well soon 🙏🏻

I'll agree with Vettel and Perez for next year, but I just don't see Stroll not driving there.
I can imagine Lance and Perez have been told their performance at the 2 races at Silverstone and maybe Barcelona matter very much.
Otherwise I see Checo getting the short end of that stick.

....Toto and Lewis to Aston Martin......in 2022. Mercedes last year is 2021, only 'cos of covid, they wanted out end of 2020 season, when the regs were due to change, the Mercedes team is metamorphosing into Aston Martin. Perez, he 's already gone, virus ban is his gold watch.
We'll have to see what happens 🤔
Having read what i just wrote, Mercedes could still leave end of this year, Aston Martin are sorted to be front of grid and the development of the 2022 reg cars is probably well advanced at Mercedes, details of which would, presumably, come as part of the sale....
And today's qualify performance from the Merc's shows that even if their rivals find .5 of a second over closed season, this years Merc cars, as they are, with no development, will still be way ahead, in the similarly regulated 2021, they were a second faster than all other cars!
So i modify my first comment, '....Toto and Lewis to Aston Martin......in 2021, the Mercedes team is metamorphosing into Aston Martin.
And Perez?
