    A bowl of this, some rye bread and you have a great meal for winter. I remember eating this as a kid when ever I got sick. Works every time. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

    Shchi is one of my top favorite soups. Love connecting with my roots through recipes. I cant wait to try your grandmothers recipe. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I've been making all my stocks with the peel on the onions now because of you. I've been cooking my whole life and had never done that... now I won't go back!! You rock!!!

    Oh btw, I believe you forgot to mention the amount of kraut ... ? That looks like ~2 cups ... ?

      Thank you🌹The amount of kraft will depend on how thick or thin you want your soup to be😊

    Wonderful recipe...but am I missing something? How much sauerkraut???

    • @NastassjaCanCook
      @NastassjaCanCook  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It depends on a size of your pot and amount of stock and also if you like it more soupy or more thick consistency 🤔

  • @leefrankel4191

    This looks delicious. The recipe doesn’t indicate how much sauerkraut to use.

    • @NastassjaCanCook
      @NastassjaCanCook  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It all depends on : how big your pot is and how thick or thin your soup is. I guess it all depends on your preferences. 😊

    You say you use dry herbs. Which herbs?

    • @NastassjaCanCook
      @NastassjaCanCook  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually dry parsley and dill.

      @@NastassjaCanCook OK. Thanks for answering. I look forward to trying your recipe. I just have to figure out how to obtain celery root. I may end up trying to grow it myself.

    I hate cilantro! It tastes like soap to me. I’m glad it’s not really used in Russian cooking. All your soups looks so good!
