Today on what would have been Steve McQueens B Day 3-24-1930 ..I remember Mert saying Steve payed for the best doctor for Mert after a bad crash that about ended Mert's career...McQueen paid for a very good hand surgeon that saved Mert's hand and career....Mert went on to design and make hands for those that have lost theirs.
Had the immense pleasure of travelling with him during one campaign. Learned a lot. He is actually borderline brilliant. He was way ahead of everybody else in technology back then.
