Wasnt this known as Board Track racing not speedway as the tracks were made of woodern boards?

The correct name was Los Angeles Speedway, but it was in BH, just south of and parallel to what is now Charleyville Ave. The auto entrance was, in fact, directly south of where the Beverly Wilshire Hotel stands now. The track operated from 1920-24, and was as popular in its day as Fontana is now, attracting as many as 100,000 people to air shows, bike and auto races.

yes your right. Was the origin of "speedway" motorcycles originated here in the U.S. Did the U.K. follow suit after that?

@@henrycagle7827 Yeah, er sorry to correct you, but you're wrong.
The World's first recorded (not by film, by Public record) Motorcycle Speedway races, were held here in Australia, at a the Town of Inverell, in the State of New South Wales, in 1908. A budding young showman and promoter, booked a group of young, so called "Dare Devil Riders" for the local Yearly Country Fair that was had (and still is) at municipal Showgrounds, where the Motorcycle Races were held on the dirt Oval Harness Racing track, that was a permanent fixture at venue.
So great was the excitement, and so big was the ( by now ) State wide story, that the Promoter was contacted by his "showbiz" counterparts in Sydney, and asked if he could "arrange an exhibition" of this new and unheard of thrills, of proud young Men "risking their very lives" for the "honour of bringing home the "Cup" (The Cup being an invention of the Newspaper Men of the day) and their name on it.
A short time into the future, and a exhibition of the new form of sport, which didn't yet have a name, not any purpose built venues it could be run at, was run apparently all around Australia, then over to England and America. I believe you Americans christened it Speedway, but it was we Australian's who "showed you how it was done" in the first place!!
So please, check to see if you are right before you make assertions about things, particularly on the web.
P.S : - Don't take this to heart yourself, but i've been "schooled" by others on the Web in the past, and I am sure it will happen again, but I know that what I have said is fact, and you may scrutinised it all you like, but the origin of "Speedway", motorcycles anyway, was in the Inverell Country Fair, at the local area Showground, on a dirt Oval made for Harness Racing. Though I think you Americans can take the credit for the name of the new sport, and for putting Car's on the same Tracks. Particularly the "Open Wheel Class," I.E - Midgets and Sprintcars.
      Credit where it's due.

frenza? i don’t think you read my question not to mislead you and your dumb internet answers but again the it’s nice to know it came from over seas first. but what did they race? was it a great race like it is shown here? show me your footage rather than make up stories on the internet. you may have originated but here in america we make it better.🤫

@@henrycagle7827 Dunning - Krueger mean much to you? What, so nothing else happens outside the U.S? No one ever, anywhere had a original idea, if they weren't having it in the "good old U.S A?" Just judging by your infantile, misspelt word salad, I'd say that before now, you had no idea the internet went all over the World, otherwise you'd have kept your "American Exceptionalism" to yourself.
Besides which, the rider's in the video presentation were at a purpose built, timberbord arena, and not on a dirt oval, weather it's normally used for harness racing or not.
Besides which, it's almost certain that the name of the sport itself is of American origin, so to the the idea of putting Car's on the track and I said as much.
Besides all of that, why in God's name would anybody get on the internet, and BS with such easily checked facts, and why the hell anyone would want to lie about the first dirt bike oval event in history, and place it in as obscure a place as Inverell, New South Wales, Australia, and NOT in say, Sydney or Melbourne, or London or New York, and in the year 1908 etc, etc, etc, why would I or anyone else go to those sort of lengths to "device YOU?" Do you really entertain the idea that you're of THAT much importance that random fools from far away places want to spend their time writing BS replies to 6 year old posts, IF WHAT THEY WERE SAYING WAS NOT TRUE??
Are you for real? Apparently your didn't know the net went overseas, so why it should shock you that this is not an American idea, is also unsurprising!! Good day, Sir!!
