Go back and read the insert for the mini 3 it has a proximity sensor but only works if the light turns on close to something but not if the light is turned on and then moved close to something.
One of the things I love most about Olight is how they're constantly taking in customers feedback and implementing it. Gotta love a company that values their customers opinions so much
I ended up trading in my original warrior mini on a recall for a warrior mini 2. I’ve been carrying the mini 2 for about a year now and it has been a great light. Just recently swapped the pocket clip to the rear of the light. The magnetic tail cap definitely catches metal debris but I just stick a piece of tape to it every once in a while haha. Great video
From my understanding the Mini 3 does have a proximity sensor..but it just prevents turbo mode when something is already close. Nice review, looking forward to seeing who winners will be
It now ships with an attachment that allows for bezel down carry. Although im not sure why so many want to carry bezel down? Items in your pocket scratch up your lens when you carry bezel down.
@@haneko6422 I’ve carried the same WM2 since it came out and I’ve never scratched the lens. I generally don’t carry anything else in my front left pocket unless it’s a slim leather wallet in the few situations I might need cash. I think most people that carry a light have a dedicated pocket for it.
Thank you for making this a *very* easy choice for me. Mini 2 all the way. One reason, in a Need-it-now! scenario, the Mini 2 is going to be easier to grab out of a pocket using gross motor movements because the clip sits just a bit lower on the body than the Mini 3. Not to a ridiculous degree (like on the 5.11 response XR1). Just low enough to be useful, especially with a CCW S.D. "tool" in the other hand. Granted, plenty of folks prefer a bezel that sticks up less out of the pocket in a head-up carried EDC light. So they'll prefer the Mini 3. But just makes it less gross motor movement friendly. I already have a Klaus head-up EDC light with a clip positioned right where the Olight Mini 3's clip is positioned. End up having to use a two-finger pinch grip to get it out. Not ideal. Easier to drop the light. If I'm using a pinch grip, might as well just go for any number of more common EDC tube lights out there with a bezel-down carry clip. Might be a small thing, but the Mini 3's clip placement is a deal-breaker for me. I'd get the Mini 2 and a black Olight replacement clip for it.
I’ll just stick with my mini 2 for now. No complaints with it and I prefer the warmer tone. They did away with the proximity sensor (unless turned on close to something) because rain or snow could enable it when you didn’t want it to on the mini 2.
The warrior mini 3 has a proximity sensor. Olight had gotten complaints about the warrior mini 2 diming when using in foggy or snowy conditions. So to keep the intended use of sensor for safty to prevent burns or fire yet make it so fog or snow does not activate it they made it so the sensor is only active for when the light first turns on. The sensor is then deactivated as to not cuase unintentional dimming.
👍Great review and comparison, the WM3 is almost perfect from my perspective👌. Just wish that pocket clip was even longer for bezel down deep pocket carry as an option 😊
I own both and find im having to reset my 3 a few times a week, although its easy to do, its a pain, so basically i leave it by my bedside and carry my 2
I'm bummed to say that I actually like my 2 better than what I know of the 3. I like the bigger warmer hotspot, and I carry bezel down. Would be nice about that tail switch tho. Getting metal shavings off the 2 is...Ugh.
I couldn't justify buying the wm3 after just picking up the seeker4mini, but it looks like a great light. I might have to ask for one for my birthday. . . thanks for the review.
I have the WM2 and the proximity sensor SUCKS on it. It doesn't really have to be close to objects to dim down; the reflection off my white wall from 5 feet away will set it off. 🥴👎
The WM2 has the best Tactical Advantage with a config of Turbo and strob, where as The WM3 only has a config options for medium, and strobe And chances are if u need strob ur probably gonna need Turbo for maximum visibility

@@haneko6422 I appendix carry on my waist band. Bezel down let's me ready the torch quicker and is what I'm used too. And was available in a more.purpose built package in the previous model so it's a little sad to not see it here
very very cool vid there brotha harley, , cannot wait to win something free via your great g.a.w.'s , keep em coming , 1000% cool, n will always support ya > tom !

Ah. I didn’t catch that. Thanks for the info. I’ll pin the comment for others to read.
I was about to say the same

I was one of the guys that works in a steel shop that complained about the tail button! Can't believe that actually listened
nice!
i carry the mini 2 as my edc. i don't like the 3, it looks like a step down except in candela. i really hope they keep the mini 2 around
love the 2 better as well

I want to like the WM3, but the lack of bezel down carry makes it a no go for me. I’ll stick with my WM2.

The 3 does have a sensor but only works for the first half a second or so if the sensor is blocked to stop pocket burn.
Yep. Was going to write the same thing.
@@jeffgaboury3157 Great minds 😎
My original Warrior Mini got so hot that I found it works as a great hand warmer in -28F winters in Alaska!
They also have an adapter for the wm3 so it can now be carried bezel down .
Yep. Just got two of them
So I‘m glad to have the second version. The 3 got still a slot on the end by the way where metal / dust can get in.
I think I will stay with warrior 2.

Super helpful comparison! I own several WM2 but haven’t tried the 3 yet… will give it a shot now
What happened to the olight giveaway
Awesome breakdown 👍🏼 I have to say I'm a fan of Olight the quality for the price is very good and they do listen to suggestions

TH-cam is my favorite. Media to watch you on
Can't carry bezel down it's a no from me sadly
Love my Warrior Mini 2’s but the new sensor has my attention.
Another great review. Very detailed on the differences. I love it. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏
Can they keep the two around just fix the rubber button and the magnetic top and change nothing else
Why olight made their flashlight clip upside down?
Thanks for the review!!
👍Great review and comparison. Love your beamshots, always consistent and helpful when comparing different flashlights👌😊.
…and that fixed clip that can’t be swapped is a deal breaker for me. I won’t buy warrior mini3
