If I remember correctly he thought Samsung and LG payed him lmao. He literally is zacks biggest fan rn watching every video and he even dropped IPhones because of zacks input. JRE did the best possible job. Turn the blind haters into loyal fans seeing through most of the shit companies produce. Ones gotta be thankful for that!

      +Fade Away Another publicity stunt. Bend tests mean nothing. What exactly do you get from any 'bend test'? If you apply enough force to both ends of a phone, it will bend?

      +SeaSwallowMe are you quoting someone or stating that it was repackaged?

    • @BoomersGold
      @BoomersGold 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** The test doesn't mean anything. That's the problem. If someone were to do a legit test on a 3 point bending machine, get a value for its bending strength and then show that the values are subpar compared to other phones in their category, then fine.
      All this test says is "if I bend it really hard, it will eventually bend". Doesn't really mean anything since this statement is true for all products.

      @rage_of_t 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @bravestbullfighter
    @bravestbullfighter 8 ปีที่แล้ว +108

    A lot of people don't understand the relevance of this bend test is to simulate the force that goes on in the pocket when you, for example, bend over to tie your shoe laces. Perhaps Jerry needs to repeat the test and bend it in his pocket without hands.

      +Bravest Bullfighter Dude people have to like your comment!

    • @AleksanderHoff
      @AleksanderHoff 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Bravest Bullfighter Exactly! I have friends carrying the phone in their back pocket, sitting on it.. and not realising that this can actually bend their phone. I tried telling them once, and they just replied with a sort of "it is not possible, the phone is a much harder material than my pants" (not the exact quote).. however, a few weeks later, they complained to the store they bought the phone at that the phone was bent.. they were told the same thing I said before it bent, and they suddenly realised that it was true. You would be surprised how much damage a man or woman around 60kg or even less can do to a phone. when bending over and putting pressure on it. Even in the front pocket when tying your shoelaces... especially when you have a large phone such as the Plus model iPhone's or this 6P.

    • @dan428
      @dan428 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not really, you'd have to have some ridiculously tight pockets made out of steel to bend a phone like this. It does indicate build quality and rigidity though

    After JRE's first video, all of the butthurt comments were like, "The phone only bent because you heated it up first with the lighter!" and then there were a bunch of response videos from fanboys who obviously pretended to try to bend their personal phones as "proof" that the first video was somehow false.
    So then, JRE puts up this video where he explains exactly what structural and design flaws cause the phone to bend easily, and then proceeds to repeat the exact same results. In light of this indisputable evidence, the fanboys are back to the exact same "Of course your phone will break if you try to break it" and "I've had my phone for two months and didn't break in half. Therefore, there's nothing wrong with it" defensive comments that Apply fanboys made back in 2014.
    Look, it's a good phone with great specs and stock Android is awesome. It also happens to use a woodworking joint to hold together two distinctly non-wood materials. Take the good with the bad and get over it.

      Admittedly, I was one of those who initially thought the phone bent due to the flame test. However, after seeing this video and looking at its internal construction, I have to agree. The Nexus 6P is still a great phone, and it's still one of my absolute favorites. Just take extra care of it. This isn't the only phone to catastrophically fail. Chances are, the next Nexus and Huawei devices will be stronger, if the HTC M9 vs the HTC 10 bend results are any indication.

      Daniel_doge Idk if you know anything about force but a screen protector absorbs force that would otherwise be against the actual screen. The problem is that it lays flat against the screen so yes the screen protector will absorb some of that force but the rest of it will be transferred into your actual phone screen because of the excessive amount of force. Only thing they are really good for is scratches. But breakage....nah not so much anyone that tells you otherwise is certainly lying.

      No, no difference.
      I mean carcrash tests done by many car-consumer-parties like Consumer Report, etc.
      Why do they carcrash tests ON PURPOSE although nobody crash their car ON PURPOSE?
      I thought bening test videos in youtbue are bullshit. But after many thinking, I changed my mind, they are not bs, but important.
      From this video, we learned, 6P is comparatively wearker than other major companany's phone.
      And 6P has weak point in near volume button.
      No comany tell consumer their product weakneass. He did it.
      Why no thank? Because he offened 6p lovers prides?
      The fact nobody bend their phone with hands doesn't mean hardly bending strength is not needed
      Gentlemen handle their phone with care, but not all users are not gentleman.
      As time pass by, more and more phones will have more and more thinner thickness.
      So bending strength is more important.
      The real big deal is not about bending with hand is bullshit or not, but about testers biased attitute.
      I dont have any info about his biase. So I dont mentiion it. I am not against anybody saying his biaseness, but not the saying "hey who the hell bend their phone on purpose? its bullshit"

      KyungJoon Lee not sure I quite understand everything you said but nowadays phones don't just bend like that. Especially after the iPhone bend gate incident. Anyways, it's fine if that phone did bend. I got my Nexus 6p 7 days ago and I can confidently say that it's an amazing phone.

    Let me make a joke.
    After owning the 6P for a year and a half, I dropped it for the first time yesterday; and it wasn't a bad fall. Four feet. Didn't hit anything on the way down. It was a nice flat *thunk* onto the face(I've always had a case on this phone, and so it would've landed on the case's edges instead of the actual screen). I go to pick it up, "oops"; just a casual fall. I'm sure it's fine. I pick it up. I find the strangest ripple effect from the bottom right corner of 11 cracks. The screen is flashing green, halfway displaying the Marshmallow start-up logo. Totally unresponsive. Two hours later, the screen is dead. I go to plug it into my computer to save my photos. Doesn't detect the device. This morning, only 12 hours later, the thing is just dead. I've always been a Nexus fanboy, but this is just sad. It was a big punch to the gut.

    One thing I don't understand. If you're planning on destroying the phone anyway, what's the point of going through the initial setup? Does it bend easier when it's all set up? Instead of 7 minutes, this video could have taken 10 seconds. Looks like a waste of time to me.

    • @JerryRigEverything
      @JerryRigEverything  8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I had to prove the phone is real. A lot of people were skeptical of the littlest things in my last vid. Even though i have 270 other videos to validate my credibility.

    • @pluto762
      @pluto762 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +JerryRigEverything Ok. The phone is real and it bends. Yay! Just like many, many, MANY other phones on the market. Point taken. Now let's move on, shall we? Are you gonna "test" them all like this? :) Come on, man. There's gotta be something better you can do. No offense intended. You seem like a nice guy. But I don't know, this kind of videos are not for you. They are viral, people are watching them (and disliking them, but that doesn't affect the views count). But really. Is this the best you can do with your knowledge and your time?
      If you say this is intended as an explanation as to why this phone bends, ok, I respect that. But...it's also kind of a moo point. It bends cause it bends. The structural integrity or the internal design, or both, are not strong enough to withstand that amount of force. Easy. I think everyone can understand that. Now the question is: can this happen in a real-life scenario where people are not purposefully bending their phones? Cause I would be more interested in THAT kind of scenario than another bend test on the internet.

      +Abdullah Al-Marhuby You don't know why? Its just one of durability tests. Nobody bend his phone on purpose. But that doesnt means your phone will never be under the situation which might cause bending. If you are real owner of 6P, I think you should be thankgul to this test, bc you happend to know where your phones's weak point is.

    • @SuperLiammail
      @SuperLiammail 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Abdullah Al-Marhuby YES, everybody's worries are for not as Google has resolved this issue. If you go on the Google Stores website you can talk to a Google representative about this issue (please feel free to do that now) which is exactly what I did. This is what they had to say:
      "I understand you concern. However, we at Google make sure that we provide a better product to our customers. As far as those issues are concerned, we are taking care of that for you."
      I then proceeded to ask when will these issues be resolved and they said:
      "I'd like to inform you that they are already in effect."
      I then asked that if I were to go and pick up one around Christmas time if I would have no worries and they said:
      Absolutely, no worries!".
      This concludes that Google is fixing the problem and we should have no worries. If we actually do of course you can go right back to customer service and talk to them again.
      Thanks for reading and feel free to share this comment around so it gets noticed!

    Sensible test. Just take the phone and apply pressure. I can appreciate the time you took to analyze the weak points in the phone and they do seem to be legitimate issues. As a testament though, I have owned a 6P for 5 months now, and have had no issues with the quality of the build so far. No back glass cracking or bending or anything besides like scratching from every day use. Don't usually have a case for it either. I have loved this phone and would still recommend to anyone. Though don't be like me and use an actual damn case or buy the extra warranty.

    Subscribed! Also, I did get the Nexus 6P, even after repeatedly watching this.
    I also got the default (mind you, pretty expensive piece of) plastic Huawei case, and ordering now an Armordillo case, plus a screen protector.
    No phone is perfect. (I might be wrong)
    On the iphone, for a more-then-regular quality and overall functionality, you pay 50% more $$ and the iOS limits.
    On the Samsungs you pay the not-so-snappy experience after 6+ months of usage.
    On the LG you pay for not such a mature and perfect hdd+software (LG G4 being the odd exception).
    On the HTC, HUAWEI, MOTOROLA, etc... you get other flaws.
    I own now the Nexus 6P and learn to live with it's flaws.
    THANK YOU for showing the biggest physical flaw it's got, now I am mindful of it and will make me a better Nexus 6P owner!

      Some testers have side jobs that may allow them to gain profit, like in his case he does repairs, which allow him to gain much needed knowledge of dealing with such issues. They later gain more profit if they setup a TH-cam channel that gain popularity with issues, or features, for reviews about new and current states of devices.
