My wife and I live in Morelia. We live the good life! Huge, beautiful home at $400 USD per month, low bi-monthly utilities, cheap cable, phone... We use UBER about once a week, and are within walking distance for virtually all our shopping. A total of monthly expenses: less than $1100 USD. VIVA MEXICO!
I relocated to Mérida from Canada a few months ago and just visited Guadalajara and I'm definitely gonna relocate there. Guadalajara has everything including better food and culture...I'm surprised it didn't make your list
Love Gdl, we did a whole slew of videos about that wonderful city. I would prefer Gdl to Mérida without any question ....we wanted to bring some attention to some other great cities that we haven't done so many videos about.
You guys are the DJ Khaled of videos about Mexico. "And another one"! I will be checking out each of these cities thanks to your awesome video. Keep up the good work you two. Oh, and Apryl, your hair is gorgeous!💞💞💞
Morelia is a vibe! Like you, I planned to stay a few days and ended up staying much longer. I visited years ago during Dias de Los Muertos. I'm glad it has not changed over time.. If you want to LIVE in Mexico versus VISIT , it is worth investigating.
I have 5-6 months in Mexico. How would you allocate the time. I want like 3 cities for one month each, and 2 weeks each in the rest. What cities would you recommend? Thanks!
Thank you. ☀️you do such a thorough and clear review of these cities in Mexico, that I'd like to visit. I live in Morelia, and I agree with the list. A personal favorite of mines, a hidden gem like Morelia would be Durango (city). Check it out if you get the chance. It's a great city.
This was really helpful. My family is moving to Mexico this summer and we will check a couple of these out. Oaxaca was already high on our list. I'm enjoying your videos!

I like your top 5. I look forward to visiting Morelia someday, thanks to your videos. Glad to see you enjoyed the museum in Xalapa, so extraordinary & surprising. I remember thinking what is this insanely good museum doing in this small city?😆
Xalapa is the capital city for State of Veracruz. Congress & Governor are based there. Upscale lifestyle or backpack living in the same city, you can choose
Thank you for such a great video! Quick question: Which cities would you say is most adequate/popular with families with young kids? I love your videos, keep on doing what you are doing. You look to have so much fun :-)
Thanks so much once again for such great, useful and practical information. I’m planning my first trip to Mexico City in April and plan to visit a few other cities while there. So this information was very helpful, cause I’m retired and want to find somewhere else to live for 6months of the year.
Great video, I learned a lot about places to go! I am wondering why Guadalajara didn't make the list, you seemed to enjoy it there. I just got back from Guadalajara and liked it, so I am curious how the other places won out over it, thanks!

Respect the ethnicity that means the Anglo world needs to stop seeing LATAM as a resort. Only the sons and daughters of those citizens have a right to live there not Black and white Anglos.
Thks for sharing Morelia! I don’t love big cities but I’m sure a month of city life with plenty of spare change to enjoy it would be so much fun! Mmm eat your way through the city. Do you think you two will go back one day?
Of course you always have to exercise situational awareness but *yes we felt safe in all of these places.... *there is blatant cartel activity in some cities in Michoacan but no where near Morelia.
I have been to 4 of the 5 they suggest and yes, they are generally safe & in fact, safer than most American cities. If you lack common sense, then you won’t be safe.
We've been in Morelia for a year and a half, and have had NO problems with safety. Just obey the laws, and don't get involved you shouldn't be involved with!
Great, fun videos! Enjoyed looking at the places you guys are considering, especially since my wife and I will have a decision coming up December 1st when our lease expires. We retired from Michigan 4 months ago and chose to start in San Luis Potosi. There are many positives here (e.g. climate, affordability, centrally located, airport) but I really love the idea of being walking distance to a malecon on the Pacific Ocean or Gulf of Mexico. But man, most of those places are so darn hot and humid!! I noticed you have Puerto Vallarta on your list for example. It is very hot and humid there. Just wondering, have you guys lived in a place with extreme heat and humidity that lasts for months? La Paz has less heat and humidity overall than Puerto Vallarta, or anywhere in the Riviera Maya area, but it does get up to "sweltering" temperatures at a certain point in the middle of the summer and is extremely hot for at least 4 months. On your list of pros and cons for each place, how did you factor in the extreme coastal climate? For many people, the oppressive heat must be just an unpleasant fact that is more than offset by other positives.
Coastal heat we can deal w/ as long as we are in the water... but PV we wouldn't do in the summer months. Did Merida for a year and that heat was unbearable...no water and just hot!
@@TheYarbros Merida for a year! Then yep, you definitely know what heat is about!! And I can see why you might not want to be in PV during the summer months. Where in Michigan you from?
If you want to be near the ocean check out Ensenada in Baja. The weather is great year round it has a cool malecon with all types of restaurants and food carts to choose from and just like everywhere in Mexico the people are friendly and helpful. I brought my car but rarely use it because I can walk or ride my bike to everything I regularly need. BTW-I was born in Wyandotte and lived in Ann Arbor until fifth grade before moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida through college and then to the LA/Ventura area before retiring early and moving to Ensenada in November 2022. Buena suerte!
I Really liked the last three because they are off the beaten path. La Paz does have my heart too though….. All in all, wonderful choices (and prices)🥰
Like your video! Just correct that La Paz and the malecón are on the Sea of Cortez (east side of peninsula) not the Pacific Ocean. Sea of Cortez is more calm less waves than the Pacific side of the peninsula.
Could you speak more to healthcare? If you live in the states and have, say Aetna or Blue Cross/Blue Shield, could you keep that insurance and use it while living in Mexico? Or, do you have to purchase health insurance from Mexican carriers?
