Pakistan really has lots of potential. It's population is nearly equal to that of USA and land area is also decent enough. It has got a decent shoreline and is at a strategically well placed, also It can easily access oil through pipeline from central Asia. India has a large population and is diverse as fuck. Any sort of development project here will take a long time to come to fruition because of so many barriers including cultural, social and linguistic barriers. Also, over a millenia of being slaved and oppressed by the Muslims and the British will take its toll on any country. India is a victim of corruption and caste and religion based politics. Parties use divisive tactics to secure their vote banks in elections and this leads to things such as reservations(cultural appropriation on steroids), minority appeasement policies and communal tensions. India is not even a country if you ask me, it is a continent of many countries which are different from one another in terms of the food, the culture, the spoken language etc. Developing a continent will obviously take a long time. In fact, I don't think India will ever be developed simply because there's too much diversity. The word "development" has a different connotation for different groups of people. There is no "One Size Fits All" thing here like most other countries. While implementing any kind of policy, the government has to deal with opposition from other parties, corruption in the bureaucracy, and has to think about how it would affect thousands of different groups of people. It simply takes too much time. Tldr: Diversity sucks.

Also South Korea's exports are crazy, they are 5th in the world in exports. Both South Korea and India have militaries in the top 10 list. The fact that South Korea has a population of 50 million but has both, a very high GDP and GDP per capita means how much they have advanced and grown out of others. It is also very scary to imagine what would happen if the North and South reunify under South Korean government. North has very cheap labor force, and natural resources which the South needs (rare earth metals), and the South has advanced tech and highly educated people. It is, very very scary.

India has its own space program, and many megastructures and mega projects are underway in India (which we are building with our own money btw). India is also a secular nation unlike the "Islamic state of Pakistan" where minorities are oppressed. India has people from all religions in the world living peacefully for the most part except a few fringe cases. World's first hyperloop will be built in India between Mumbai and Pune and we are in the middle of introducing High Speed Railways in the country along with bullet trains which will be built with the help of Japan. Many major countries including the US, France and UK backed India's stance in the UN against Pakistan sponsored terrorism. @Ameen Shindoli If you establish democracy and create economic freedom then you will be friendly with USA and West because they have technical expertise for industry. Today we are living in a world where countries with market don't have technology while countries without market have technology. Look at Bangladesh how they are planning about the future and they are friendly with both USA and China. They don't keep blaming Pakistan for 1971 and have moved beyond that. Even leaders in Islamic countries should think about the future and jobs for youth, education and development rather than blaming America and West for past crimes. We should forgive and move on. A prime example is Algeria which needs to diversify it's economy and develop it's tourism industry. There is no point in blaming France because French left Algeria in 1962.

India has a large population and is diverse as fuck. Any sort of development project here will take a long time to come to fruition because of so many barriers including cultural, social and linguistic barriers. Also, over a millenia of being slaved and oppressed by the Muslims and the British will take its toll on any country. India is a victim of corruption and caste and religion based politics. Parties use divisive tactics to secure their vote banks in elections and this leads to things such as reservations(cultural appropriation on steroids), minority appeasement policies and communal tensions.
India is not even a country if you ask me, it is a continent of many countries which are different from one another in terms of the food, the culture, the spoken language etc. Developing a continent will obviously take a long time. In fact, I don't think India will ever be developed simply because there's too much diversity. The word "development" has a different connotation for different groups of people. There is no "One Size Fits All" thing here like most other countries.
While implementing any kind of policy, the government has to deal with opposition from other parties, corruption in the bureaucracy, and has to think about how it would affect thousands of different groups of people. It simply takes too much time.

in terms of GDP per capita, yes maybe small countries can be advantageous much more than Big countries to improve. but actually it does not matter if a big or a small nation. and South Korea is not a small country if we are located in Europe or another continent.

Japanese colonial era and Korea War. the nation was totally destroyed (even 70% of whole Korean territories are mountain areas, no any natural resources) after Korea War, South Korea was one of the poorest in the world. but seeing now, in 2019, we are an advanced country - joined the '30-50 Club' with its per-capita gross national income (GNI) surpassing $ 30,000 and its population over 50 million (only 7 countries in the world - South Korea, Japan, Germany, US, UK, Italy and France) also we are only one country which was the poorest one before.
