OK, I just finished the installation in my 221RB Transcend. It took about an hour, but I deliberately worked slow as to not mess anything up or move my AC unit. I had a little difficulty lining up one of the 4 lag bolts, but once that aligned it was smooth sailing. Now I was a bit skeptical as to home much improvement i would see on air flow and noise reduction. I figured I would see about the same in both areas as if I simply shut the vent on the unit. When I turned on the AC after the installation I was very impressed, and surprised, at how quiet the unit was and how much volume was emanating from every vent in my RV. Before I installed the Airflow, it wasn't uncommon to see 20 degrees difference in the bedroom vs our living area. Now the RV cools evenly.. Thank you Hanks for this recommendation! SO awesome and worth EVERY penny... Great job guys!
WOW - what a difference and didn’t look too difficult. Love how well you guys work together - any time a husband and wife can do a “project” together and come out unscathed is amazing! Informative and entertaining - Love It!
I installed the RV Air Flow System in my Rv and was amazed by the difference, but then I went two step further. I also installed The RV Silencer from Wacko product and my my AC is running 54.5db about 4.5 feet directly under the AC. It is so quiet I’m amazed. The other thing I did was I took each vent down from the ceiling and resealed the gap between the ducts, vent exhaust, and ceiling with new foil tape. Over time the factory foil tape was pealing up leaving gaps for air to escape between the vents and ceiling.
I just did the diy of this mod for my 2 AC units. It cost $16 for the 1” foam board and foil tape. Did this project with my 6 year old daughter. It was hard to justify $170 when I researched it. The mod is amazing. We run our 2 units for our 43’ 5th wheel, on low, at 73 deg. The units will cycle on and off in 95 deg weather. Definitely do this to your AC units!!!
Yeah. I’m down to save time/money, I’m a diesel tech, and have an educated idea of what’ll be gained by the product and the time it’ll take to do the diy version….This was just out of the justification zone for me(discount included, with the diy materials “on hand”, and also considering I don’t want to do work on personal time lol)at the hourly rate I get anyway. This isn’t a new idea, although does look like a good execution and quality design. I’m Also down to pay for product r/d. Just over the mark for me. Little less and everyone will buy….. although where it’s at I think a lot of people full time in the south Rv’ing will and I hope these guys are very successful.🇺🇸
@@aliesenfelt agreed. You definitely have to weigh out the aspect of time is money. I just really wanted a project to do. The value of the product is time saved. I also can’t spend that kind of money on a reshaped beer cooler…..hahaha
@@doratheexplorerbegins there are a few different videos on TH-cam. Search diy Rv AC modification. There are step by step instructions and explanations between the two common AC units used and how to do the design. It is a very instant gratification kind of project when you finish.
ER Nurse here and buying my first 5th wheel this month. LOVED LOVED LOVED the ventilation example by comparing it to the human body :) It's pretty amazing how much better I comprehend things when we compare whatever it is people are explaining to nursing lol :) Thanks for the vids! So so so helpful and informative! I feel like I'm studying for the NCLEX all over again. :)
I purchased one for my Dometic "Noisy as Heck" Brisk Air II. I have one AC in my unit and I just came back from the Outer Banks and the AC could not keep up during the day. Thought about buying a second AC for the front but after this, I will give this a try first. Was going to do the DIY method with foam and Aluminum tape but decided this was a neater installation and based on "Hanks Feedback" I was sold on this solution! Thanks Hanks!
There is a less costly way to improve your a/c efficiency. Everyone who uses that product swears by them! However, I did my own DIY improvement by using one foot of round aluminum foil ducting and some duct tape. Spent around $10 bucks at a local hardware store and it made a huge difference on the output of the vents air flow! Our a/c fan motor arrived recently, so replaced our dead one and we barely hear the a/c running at all! The only noise is the air flow from the vents. Running the a/c on low speed our rig stays at a comfortable 75 degrees; with 100 + degrees outside, throughout our rig! WOW, it’s so good to be comfortable once again inside our rig!!
First off I can't thank you enough for doing the scientifically proven measurements with the animonium.... animotrium... anemometer cheerleader megaphone thingy because you know... SCIENCE!!!! This product changed my life! My fiancee and I just started full timing thanks to you guys and changing lanes! Our trailer is 35foot pull behind with 1 AC unit and is fine on days under 85. Well we got this product or similar one and on 90 degree day we put it in in the heat of the day and it got very hot inside the trailer. Got it installed and 1.5 hours later the trailer is already down to 79 degrees and dropping, still in the heat of the day. We keep bedroom and bathroom door and vents closed until dark. Very Impressed so far! Also have a 20inch box fan pushing air across the floor. On 15 amp "mooch docking" setup and no shade in the afternoon. Any ways love your guys channel and happy travels Hanks!
My 2022 GD Reflection 337RLS came with the RV AirFlow installed in the living room AC. I can run my living room AC at night and it keeps the bedroom cool at night (much more quite in the bedroom this way). I just turn the bedroom AC down a few degrees lower just to supplement when needed.
Great idea and awesome video. When checking CFMs on an AC unit you need to have everything as if you are using it any other day. Keep vents on cause that’s how you use it every day. Yes the vents will restrict some air but that’s how it’s designed just make sure they are opened all the way. Hold the airflow cone over vent for up too 30 seconds but not less than 15 seconds to get a good reading. Yes I have a certification in airflow and 30 years in HVAC and this was what we found to work the best. Go by instructions but maybe this will help also. I don’t mind helping anyone on airflow problems cause sometimes we just need it. And it’s free. Lol. Stay safe and God bless.
When we bought our 260RD it was an RV show model and they had already installed this. It does work great. We have only the one AC and it keeps it nice and cool inside even in the Houston heat.
Great vid Carl and Ney Ney! Of all the RV Airflow vids I've seen yours was the most informative, actual numbers not just a "yea it feels better". Watch for any water intrusion after moving the unit around some. I'd be tempted to pull the covers and inspect the seal/chalk area. And perfect time to check the AC condenser for any debris.
Took the plunge and bought a RV Airflow and used the ThanksHanks discount (thanks Carl and Ney Ney). The RV airflow was easy to install and I am shocked at the increase in airflow and colder air. When I first turned on the A/C, the airflow increase blew wood shavings and styrofoam pellets out of the farthest duct. Best RV mod so far!
First we wanted to tell you that you guys are a great couple. You’re really fun to watch and you have a terrific sense of humor the both of you. Now then concerning this video, we would like to say thank you for putting it together because you made it really easy to follow and understand which is exactly what I needed.
My 2022 GD Transcend Xplor 297QB came with this already installed in the main living area. We live in southern Alabama and the A/C work extremely well. We do run the bedroom A/C to help get it cooled down faster but once it’s at the desired temp we turn the bedroom A/C. It’s definitely a must have upgrade for those they don’t have one.
Spent about $12 on material like foam insulation board/tape and reflectix. Made a tent shape directing down flow toward the sides and blocked the main AC from blowing directly down with the board, but added reflectix and tape to seal everything and tunnel direct to the sides. Much quieter and super strong flow from the out vents. Had to close the bath vent because it gets too cold in there now. You can even glue or tape foam brds together, then shave into shape if you don't want to bother with reflectix. ☺
Ok so I watched your video, skeptically ordered this product using the THANKSHANKS discount code, and installed in our 31 ft TT tonight. Turn it on in the low cool position and like magic it transformed our TT into a very quiet wind tunnel. Ok we’ll maybe not wind tunnel, but it’s proving the vents aren’t just decorative! The TT is cooling down faster on low cool than it ever did on high! All I can say is thanks Hanks, you were spot on with this product!
First of all THANK YOU guys for the discount on the purchase of the airflow. I'm waiting to get and install. I know the DYI version is good, but looking at the airflow it does direct the air better into the ducts, I wish you well in the marriage life as you two have a great love of fun and humor. May the love flow and well as the RV airflow and you see a 100% better love as you two grow together. I had wanted to get mine for awhile, but the new Grand Design Transcend Xplor units come with Furrion AC units. Emailed RV Airflow, and they told me they were releasing one for my AC! Seeing your movie reminded me to go back and order it, looking forward to delivery!
If I ever have to be in the hospital, I PRAY one of you beautiful people will be my nurse! Thanks so much for your videos, they are always so fun and hilarious. We have one and it works great in our 27ft Harland 23 rbs. I was surprised how well it worked I also built a frame to go over the AC to hang a sun screen on to cover it.
Late to the comments with this suggestion....we have RV Airflow and love it! HOWEVER, you might not want it on all your ACs. We don't have it on the bedroom AC because we run that AC with the dump vents open at night so we can cool down to a lower temp without lowering the temp everywhere (it runs less). And you can't use dump vent with the airflow mod.... thought this is worth mentioning.
Can i check how my air flow is cooling. I have one ceiling rv a/c .it is on 30 amp breaker.. its square.. i cleaned condenser , its loud. .. i have 2007 grey wolf .. 26ft just me. Thinking about buying a tower ac portable.. means its 8"w x 36" tall approx. Im open for suggestions... Y'all very humorous couple yet "informative".👍 I enjoyed watching yall's video.. thank you.

I just ordered 2 of them for our 41’ Solitude 390RK. I hope I can cancel my 3rd a/c unit order. I’ve been enjoying your show for a little while now. We’ve experienced so many similar “problems” as you. Such as a 100’ tree came straight down the center of our roof as well. Good days and bad, just keep up your show, makes us feel like we’re not the only ones. Thanks Hanks👍🏻
Thanks so much for sharing all the information that you 2 give us. As soon as we get back to our 5th wheel we are.dping this...We love your videos. We look forward to Thursdays.
Nice video BUT you only talk about increase in air flow... what was the temperature difference with that increase in air flow... with the device vs basline?
All the videos about the RV Airflow talk about CFM numbers but how much better does the A/C cool down the RV to the set point? For example: without it you go from 90 degrees to 75 in 3hrs but with the RV Airflow you go from 90 degrees to 75 in 2hrs.
The size of your a/c unit will determine that. If you have the basic 13k unit will take longer to cool your rig down than a 15k btu unit. I have the Coleman 15k unit and did a diy fix to improve the unit efficiency air flow, and it will cool our rig from 90 degrees to 75 degrees within 30 minutes!
This is a point most seem to miss. The AC capacity is fixed. You don’t get more cooling by increasing airflow. This will decrease the delta across the coil. It improves air distribution and mat reduce warm spots. The statement it cools faster is inaccurate. It does cut the noise dramatically because it blocks line of sight to the blower. I’m an HVAC engineer 40+ years
@@donnnay1717 But what you are also missing is the shotty tape job that is in the plenum. Which will create losses because you will be losing air in the ceiling. You are not creating more cooling capability you are lessening the losses in your system.
Love you guys and PLEASE keep being you. Don’t listen to those comments about too silly or just a commercial. Question, after installing the part you closed the side vents on the ceiling mount part. Wouldn’t that just direct more air to the vents? Wouldn’t that make more cool air flow? Isn’t that what the foam part did? Sure it’s me but I’m not sure why you couldn’t just close the main ceiling vents thus having more air to the duct vents. I’m not real handy so confused. Again, LOVE YA. Please stay Karl and Ney Ney. Oh, and Dexter.
Even if you just shut the dump valves, the air still gets trapped and lost in extra dead space. The RV airflow reduces all the extra space so the airflow can only go into the room vents. Thanks Russell 🤗
I just love your video’s even when you’re doing a how to video it’s so entertaining! I’m a retired ER nurse and I would have loved working with you two, hope to meet you in person some day!!
Good scientific approach. It looks like a good solid product that will work well. For me, I have a duel basement AC that works more along the lines of the produce you just installed. Keep up the good work. Don
This was a fantastic video 😉! We may need to get us some of them nifty air flow thingys! It is super hot in the middle of a heat wave here in New Jersey! Would be nice to have them right now 🤔. Love your sense of humor, had us laughing out loud! Love ya guys! Safe travels!
Hey Hanks, quick update on my new RV Airflow. It came today, brand new model for my Furrion AC. I installed in 45 MINUTES! And didn’t even have to use the duct sleeve inserts because Grand Design had already installed from the factory with the foam tape. And it increased airflow by at least 50% in my Imagine 2600RB. Cooled my coach by 14 degrees in about 7 minutes and is at least 70% quieter too!! Thanks Hanks!! 😁 Your install video was so helpful!!!
As always - love the video. Very entertaining, and we liked that it really gave some good information. There was an error in the process so it’s not really a 59% increase - just that side of me that can’t let it go. But still a good improvement and who cares when you’re having fun.
You are gonna love the air flow system. Mine came factory installed in my 21 reflexion. Not all 30A are equal. The park i am at i trip the breaker a few times a week. The last park i never tripped it.
There are only 2 things that cause that. Lose wires on the lugs. Take a Klein screw driver and tighten them. The breaker is weak Lightning in the area can cause that. I always have a 30 and a 50 with me will switch them out while we are there. Take them with you when you leave. I'm a retired contractor if you don't want to do it have the maintnance people do it
@@leekimm6826 thanks for the heads up. The park i am at is dead dead during the week thats why the wife and i like it so much but we found out why its dead lol.
I sent this to my brother. He lives in a 5th wheel. You guys are funny. Have you mentioned adding a Soft Start on the AC units? Then you can run both AC's on a 30 AMP circuit.
Thanx Hanx!!! And, enjoyed the live comedy show with the pranx too!!! Gooood solid info, why in the Sam Hell don’t the RV manufacturers spend a couple of more pennies and have the AC’s configured this way???? 👍😃🍻
We got one with our Momentum and transferred two from our Reflection. We still only need one AC to keep the Rig cool. (At least when the outside temp is at 85F.)
I saw this and very interested I have a question. When you were taking the original measurements were the vents in the main part hanging down in your camper closed tight where no air was escaping on your original numbers?? Thanks for y’all’s great input. Love following your channel.
I thought about doing this, but i replaced one of my puck lights. It was surprising how much cold air was leaking into the ceiling from the ducting. It would be an undertaking to take the ceiling apart the fix the leaky ductwork.
We’ve been thinking about ordering the RV Airflow. Your video sealed the deal! THANKS HANKS 15% off so appreciated. We’re near Houston right now for work…melting!
This is cool. I have a 31ft TT with 1 AC unit and it seems to be fine (even in Georgia where it was 105 one day) as long as it’s really cold in the morning. But I only have 1 vent in the room and it can get stuffy when the air isn’t blowing. I was thinking just a battery fan to hang by the head. Think this system will work? I think mine is a more dead air problem than a cooling problem. That and I have always slept with a fan on.
A piece of styrofoam works absolutely the same way well I can off your main vents and running it to your auxiliary events is all you're doing it increases the airflow through the cab
Good info, I found it hard to watch with all the goofyness! But I managed to get through it. Then I found (serious) videos showing DYI for a fraction of the price!
I loved the video. One question though, did you add the airflow from the overhead unit vents into your equation? When you were putting it back together you mentioned that the long vents are now blocked. So it seems that the increased flow at your circle vents is simply what you lost from the long slat vents. Thank ypu
OK, I just finished the installation in my 221RB Transcend. It took about an hour, but I deliberately worked slow as to not mess anything up or move my AC unit.
I have a gentleman that I watch called RV STREET that is amazing to watch for general maintenance. If you have not watched his channel take a look. He will save you LOTS of headaches with issues. God Bless and Safe travels.
We have one and it works great in our 27ft Harland 23 rbs. I was surprised how well it worked I also built a frame to go over the AC to hang a sun screen on to cover it.
Great idea and informative. How did you prevent loosening up the seals around the unit when trying to get everything lined up purrfectly? 🙌
The RV self seals to the roof when torqued properly
Wasn't going to do it this year up here in Michigan but it has been warmer than usual. Thanks for the video, looking forward to your next.
I wanted to go full time rv but I’m a single mom with three babies. Love your videos
Cannot think of many things better than improved airflow. Way to move the air.
Did the same mod for our unit. Was in Myrtle Beach and this mode worked amazing! Unit was always cold!
That’s a great point, thanks for sharing🤗
Can i check how my air flow is cooling. I have one ceiling rv a/c .it is on 30 amp breaker.. its square.. i cleaned condenser , its loud. .. i have 2007 grey wolf .. 26ft just me. Thinking about buying a tower ac portable.. means its 8"w x 36" tall approx. Im open for suggestions... Y'all very humorous couple yet "informative".👍 I enjoyed watching yall's video.. thank you.
Good job you two, you all are the best. I look forward to watching you guys every week.
🤗
I’m not sure what you’ve convinced me more of , not going RVing or to not marry ! 🤔. I’ve got it ! Show us you enjoying a relaxing evening in your freshly fixed RV , leading into tearing up some of that Nook Nook !!
OMG! You are some serious Hankstirs! Energy out the Air Condition! Someone commented that we are Statler and Waldorf we almost popped our Muppets laughing. Keep up the great information and videos. Your new Subsciber -Jonathan
Keep on Trekking!
So sorry about all the troubles you're experiencing!
THANKS HANKS!!!!! Just ordered and used the discount code! Saved us almost 30 bucks! Cheers!
We love to hear the savings $$!
Thanks so much for sharing all the information that you 2 give us. As soon as we get back to our 5th wheel we are.dping this...We love your videos. We look forward to Thursdays.
We're currently buying this :) for our fifth wheel.
I had never heard of this piece of equipment.
Looks like a dramatic improvement 👍
I did the diy version on our 2 units and it dropped the temp in our camper from 87 to 75 in less than an hour right after finishing
I’m an HVAC engineer 40+ years
Because of the loss of dead space, the RV does cool down much faster based on airflow!
@@donnnay1717 But what you are also missing is the shotty tape job that is in the plenum. Which will create losses because you will be losing air in the ceiling. You are not creating more cooling capability you are lessening the losses in your system.
Love the “TNT” Ney Ney 🤣🤣 On a serious note, great tutorial.
Thanks again for a great report. Will be ordering as soon as I get back to our trailer!!!
Awesome,. we've been loving our RV AirFlow Systems since last August, it's amazing!
Cute and informative. Lining up the lag bolts is 90% of the difficulty of the project. My 3 were already done! Be cool! These will help!
Absolutely David! Thank you so much for your wonderful support, you stay cool as well 😎
Love you guys and PLEASE keep being you.
🤗
So glad you got it done.. Next is the Soft starters.. I talked to Art as well. Nice guy..
Instructional and hilarious. Thanks for your awesome videos.
Love you guys.
Tim and Bev
Thanks Hanks Just ordered ours
I definitely want to do this with our ac unit.
Good scientific approach. It looks like a good solid product that will work well. For me, I have a duel basement AC that works more along the lines of the produce you just installed. Keep up the good work.
Don
I have seen alot of people starting to do this and have heard alit of positive feedback about it
This was a fantastic video 😉!
So awesome!
Great video and big improvement. Heard they work good. Hanks be cool now 👍✊
As always - love the video. Very entertaining, and we liked that it really gave some good information. There was an error in the process so it’s not really a 59% increase - just that side of me that can’t let it go. But still a good improvement and who cares when you’re having fun.
We just ordered ours! Thank you for sharing the discount on the airflow system!!
@@leekimm6826 got it fixed. Thank you for the heads up
@@adamkittok Glad it worked for you. Most people don't know electricity vibrates which causes those issues
I sent this to my brother. He lives in a 5th wheel. You guys are funny. Have you mentioned adding a Soft Start on the AC units? Then you can run both AC's on a 30 AMP circuit.
We've definitely thought about it!
Putting a funny spin on ac maintenance!
Thanx Hanx!!! And, enjoyed the live comedy show with the pranx too!!!
Gooood solid info, why in the Sam Hell don’t the RV manufacturers spend a couple of more pennies and have the AC’s configured this way????
👍😃🍻
Glad y’all got them! First thing we purchased a year ago ! Stay cool ❄️
Thanks Greg! We are so happy with them! 😊
Great video guys!!! When can you do ours? No joke, we're old would be nice to have someone knowing what their doing😁❤️
All the dump gates were shut if that’s what you mean? We never have them open
we too just installed these on our motorhome and love the results.
Great review- and I’m glad they sent you a flow hood to get the right CFM - real world review 🍻
What a awesome job!! We live in NC, so it’s hot here! This will help tremendously! #ThanksHanks!! ❤️❤️
I thought about doing this, but i replaced one of my puck lights. It was surprising how much cold air was leaking into the ceiling from the ducting. It would be an undertaking to take the ceiling apart the fix the leaky ductwork.
Love your videos. You put fun into education!! Thanks for all you do for the rv community!
🤗
Just ordered mine with THANKSHANKS.
Thanks Hanks!!!!
Wahoo!! Stay cool!! 😎🙌🏼
That's a great improvement great job, and I just love it when you guys do it yourself, again you guys ROCK. 👍👍👍😉😉😉
Welcome to the RV Airflow club guys....
Keep up the good and crazy funny content!!
Great video and content. one question... did you guys go mushroom picking before filming?
Thanks, great video and it reminded Fred to clean out our AC filters. Check, AC filters clean and local vent closed. Mary💕Fred
We’ve been thinking about ordering the RV Airflow. Your video sealed the deal! THANKS HANKS 15% off so appreciated.
We’re near Houston right now for work…melting!
Stay cool!
If it really is a dead air problem it may work!
Good info Hanks. Might look into it.
FYI, all AC’s should always be run on high fan or you risk evaporator coil freeze up.
We just ordered ours with the THANKSHANKS discount code!! Thanks so much!
Nice vid, but where did you folks get the matching air cone?
Woot Woot!! Definitely going to look into getting one of these.
Awesome Kyle! We noticed a considerable amount of difference in having two installed. Stay cool out there! 😎👍🏼
Wow! We may need to do this. Thanks for the info and y’all are hilarious too. 😂
A piece of styrofoam works absolutely the same way well I can off your main vents and running it to your auxiliary events is all you're doing it increases the airflow through the cab
Thank you for sharing so everyone can learn!
I got your hat today and I'm loving it. I like that shirt Hanging with the Hanks
Awesome!
Thank ypu
We kept the dump gates shut for every test
It’s about time!
Our grand design Transcend came with one installed. So nice!!!!
