As a former percussionist and currently playing the tuba, I wish I had found the video earlier because when I got handed my tuba I only knew how to play a singular note and had trouble re-greasing the slide and valves!

I had to play trombone and euphonium for those because they did not have a tuba, but I always had tuba in mind. Now I’ve been playing tuba since I started in 7th grade, and now I’m a freshman in highschool. I like it, but the music is usually boring in concert/symphonic bands. Jazz band and marching band are where it’s at
It looks like a single Bb! Missing the 4th and is non-compensating, so way less tubing, thus way more appropriate for beginners and kids. Hear how stuffy it is when he plays that low Bb though? Definitely a beginner instrument.

昔、ウチのアマチュアオケにいたチューバ吹きが転勤になって、団で借りていた四畳半の押入れに楽器置いて行っちゃったことがあったな〜。黒いケースに入ったまま誰にも吹いて貰えず、更に「クジラ」と呼ばれ場所塞ぎであると邪魔にされて不遇な奴だった。
