    Hi Chris,
    thank you for showing this walkthrough. Do you have more info on the vocal channels? also could you give some info on the reverbs and delays used?

    Hi Chris! What is your role with Bethel? Are you learning production from their production team? Do they offer a training on how to accomplish excellent live stream mix? Thanks for your time!

      I recorded this while I was at WorshipU On Campus in 2015. I was in a few of the intimate classes like this where I got to sit under Luke Hendrickson and Chris Greely. You can see more indepth classes like this on WorshipU.com & productiononline.com

    Hello! I am a Brazilian music producer and I really appreciate the timbre of the Bethel battery and I would really like to know the wave plugins you used in the mix and which plugins did you use any buss channel?
    I would love to be able to exchange information with you!

    to each his own. if my drums sounded like poop then i would do this. I personally would rather keep the real sound of my drums so i don't lose the velocity of their real hits vs the same exact pre-recorded sound no matter how hard or soft they hit. I know Slate Trigger allows you to moderate velocity and how much you use the replacement but for me I'd just rather spend the time tuning the heads and mixing them. If anything I'd use the trigger to trigger a gate on snare, tom and possibly kick mic so that way they open up every time they are hit and close when not being played without trying to find the perfect threshold. cleans my mix right up for bleeding sound and I don't have to give up my preference for how I need each head to sound vs looking for the "perfect" pre-recorded sound. Just me.

    That's a Fairchild 670 he's using on the width buss, not a Pulteq.
    Thanks for the vid. Nothing unheard of but some creative stuff.

    Hello! that huge snare sample is a custom sample of bethel? or it can be found in some library?

    • @MixChecks

      If you look at the Slate Trigger plugin GUI, it looks like he has 6 different samples loaded in there. Would probably be pretty hard to recreate unless he told you exactly which samples he was using and sent you the files.

    Hey Chris, I suppose your workflow (and potentially your position) at Bethel has changed since you posted this video but I believe my question is still appropriate. Is this workflow you briefly went through in this video done for the Bethel TV livestream? Is this all done in real-time? In terms of the stuff Bethel releases on Bethel Music YT channel, I assume alot of that stuff is done in post.
    I'm more curious as to how you guys are achieving such a clean and full sounding broadcast mix. I mean, I know you can't describe that in a YT comment but I'm just curious as to some guidance on a general starting point.

    • @chriskelly9899

      Matthew Ratcliffe I’m actually not affiliated with bethel, I was there during WorshipU on Campus 2015. This was from a class with Luke Hendrickson their broadcast engineer who has changed the game.
      He mixes in real time. Check out productiononline.com where he explains more in-depth.

      @@chriskelly9899 Hey Chris, this video is fairly aged by now but I guess principally speaking everything is still pretty similar. I am curious as to how you guys dealt with latency? Surely all these plugins are introducing significant latency. How were you offsetting/delaying the video for stream?

  • @friedemannschlag4907
    @friedemannschlag4907 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    quick question: sorry i didn't quite get that, but are they doing drum replacement in the live stream? if so: are there any latency issues and what about the stability of the system?

    • @scubasteve29388
      @scubasteve29388 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steven Slate's Trigger is very fast and efficient. It wouldn't surprise me if it were live. Especially since the live feed can be delayed enough to compensate for the 2millisecond latency.

    • @TheJohnHendy
      @TheJohnHendy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Friedemann Schlag video/audio are somewhat delayed then synced. So latency isn’t a huge problem with their setup.

    • @omarlegend

      It really is a combination of a few things done right .. the source (drummer & technique) , the snare, mic placement , over heads, bottoms snare, trigger, sample layering, EQ, compression, etc etc. such a great tone.. I’m working on our broadcast rn at restoration life church .. It sounds pretty decent but still shooting to get to this quality
