    One more thing to give you an idea of where I’m coming from I used to flat track 250 class at Northville Downs Michigan back in the 70s that’s what caught my eye with the Indian

  • @rickducharme7429

    What's not to like? I like the basic model right through the FTR 1200 line-up. It's unique, and for real world riding it works. If you have money to spare, go for greatness. Personally, I would save that extra $2 grand for other things, but the carbon is a premium piece, and it has all the good bits you could possibly want for the asking price IMO.
    Good vid as usual. Rock on, Motobob, and keep 'em coming.

    Harley better start releasing their new bikes before Indian makes them obsolete.

      BMW is going hard for the big cruiser market, too: and they're way under-cutting Harley's overly expensive bikes by a significant amount. H-D is under some serious duress if they don't get a lot of things right very soon. That's no great secret, of course, but with the major downturn in the economy we might be seeing the end of some American icons: H-D, Ford, and GM are all in big trouble.

      @@stanleyblazeraznik6047 Seems counter intuitive since they're based on the Bronx. Bad move for sure. They're eliminating two categories entirely for not much expense. I don't get it.

    Aesthetically and technologically stunning production. That said, TFT’s have been a fashion statement for the cool folks for five minutes and I’m already nostalgic for analog “looking” dials, even if they’re TFT in disguise. After all, do we really want more screen time? But that’s nitpicking. Well done Polaris Industries, well done . . .

    I really liked the FTR when I first saw one in the flesh a couple of years ago, but the more I see them the more I think they missed the mark a little. Just my opinion but I would have rather seen a much lighter, 750-900 cc, more hard edged, basic flattracker or a 1200, streetbike with dedicated road tyres and better manners. It's too much of a compromise for me.... expensive too.

    • @Heavywall70
      @Heavywall70 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree
      This is just an American attempt at a Ducati
      A street tracker should be two wheels, wide bars, minimal seat and a High exhaust
      and not much else.
      Also really should be a 750

      I hope Indian starts building smaller displacement, lighter bikes. I think they're planning to partner with some Indian (as in India) or Chinese brands, but I don't know how good they'll be unless they do their own designing from the start.

    • @noelchignell1048
      @noelchignell1048 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree lots of fussy unnecessary bits and huge hideous muffler after redesigning the scout engine so much they failed to build a light weight bike . Surely building their race bike cost far less and they could have built a lean lightweight street legal version of that maybe bored and stroked to say 900cc and detuned and making it pass emissions etc is mostly fuel management

    • @John900C
      @John900C 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When a production bike is styled on a show bike like this the result always looks like a Chinese copy. Disappointment guaranteed.

    That's a thing of beauty 🤩🤩. Very nice indeed . Like you said , once you've added on all the carbon extras on a standard FTR then the price isn't too bad . Still , a bike that's a little out of my range haha
    How you been anyway, mate? Family all good I hope 👍 stay safe man.

    It looks very good with the low slung exhaust. Yes carbon fibre looks good, just don't know if I'd want to pay all that extra money, the standard FTR1200 looks good to me. I'd get that and save the cash probably for some of the electronically controllable baffle pipes you reviewed a while back.

    I was about to get last year's bike but closed because of the Virus19. Glad I waited because I would have paid extra buying the carbon accessories later. Now finding a great full-face helmet that doesn't let all the wind inside to ruin the wireless speakers and communication set-up.

      I am an older rider but I still know how to have fun I want to get something that I can handle something that won’t handle me I was looking at the 790 Duke and now the 890 Duke is on the Horizon both are light and even though I have some years of experience I’m worried about the hooligan and me so I’m trying to be realistic with what’s going on in this world I can’t test drive any of these bikes and it’s driving me crazy because I’m ready to buy and I just can’t wait it’s very difficult great review I’ve been watching a lot of TH-cam channels but I’m settling in with the more experienced there are a lot of youngsters out there that think they know it all it’s kind of fun to watch and Listen to their opinions but I think you know what I’m talking about keep up the good work I’m sure I’ll be sending more comments as time goes on
