our family has a 2012 Toyota 4Runner trail edition in this very color. we love it. There is nothing we can possibly complain about, especially with the way it handles. it drives amazingly smooth and controlled on the interstate, as well as in crowded cities and up in the mountains. whatever you throw at it, it will outshine your expectations and continue to amaze you. it pulls very well too and is very comfortable on long trips. I can't speak highly enough of how amazing the KDSS handles on road as well as off. I never feel top heavy on the highway or mountain roads. KDSS is simply amazing. love our 4runner. highly suggest test driving one. We also have a 99 4runner 3rd gen that is amazing as well, love 4runners!

Pretty surreal to see that this car remains completely unchanged in 2023.

My daily is a 2011 sr5 premium, it has over 170k miles and still runs great, no major issues, just normal wear and tear.

4Runer always been the best one, except maybe 87-89...Nissan should redo the Pathefinder towards it's original purpose, that thing used to be cool in the early 90's, totally went soft. the 4wd SUV market was stacked back then. Montero, Trooper, Rodeo, Jimmy/Blazer, Pathfinder, 4Runner, Raider, Explorer, Cherokee, and the articles and video comparisons were excellent.

I’ve a 2015 4Runner Trail Premium. I bought it with 150k miles in December of 2022. It now has 171k miles, 10k of which have been road trips. It is comfortable, easy to drive, wheels well, and tows a trailer well. It’s a great rig!

I want a 4 runner. I think the 2010 or 2011 is perfect for me in 2024. Not dated like the 4th gen although they are still nice 4runners. I like the body styling better.

Nice truck! If you're gonna get a 4Runner, get the V-6 one! The 4 cylinder 4Runner is a big epic fail, just like the '04 Durangos that had the V-6. My Durango has the Hemi V-8! My point is if you're gonna get an SUV, make sure it has an aggressive engine!

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

What's the sense in having the 4 cylinder ? None

As a 15-year owner of the 2010 SR5, I have some observations not found in this or other videos. Here goes. The orange light dashboard is nearly illegiale and becomes unusable if you follow the rule that you should turn on your headlights when your wipers are on. The tow hitch is a joke, a vestigial, stubby little thing which can't even accommodate an accessory, like a lite or one of those stupid propellers. The chrome-like version of teh door handles degrades if you park the car outdoors. The aftermarket chrome-like plastic covers don't fit. I carefully pried off mine and swapped sides, putting the ugly parts on the bottom on the opposite doors. The rubber gasket in the tailgate handle turns to jelly and is not easy to replace properly, but you can buy one on ebay and sort of stick it on. The wheels on the SR5 lost their coating and were not covered by any quality campaign. After 5 years I had to have them machined and recoated for $600 (probably an $1800 job now in September of 2024). We had snow in Virginia in 2016 so in 2017 I bought a set of ARS wheels and snow tires. We never had winter again so I just left them on, since they are more attractive than the original wheels, which began peeling again. If you don't have any friends and don't need to use the back seat, remove the seat bottoms. This is done in 5 minutes with a 14mm socket. Stowing them in your attic has many benefits. You reduce the car's weight. You open up more storage, both on the floor and in the length of objects you can carry. Your copilot can recline his seat, something that is not possible with the seat bottoms folded up. If you have to haul something long, you may be able to slide the passenger seat forward enough to accommodate it, esp. if you load it on a diagonal. The standard backup camera in the mirror is worthless due to its postage-stamp size. Know how all Toyotas with sunroofs leak onto the front floor? Just don't get the stupid thing. MPG: While it only gets 14mpg around town, you can nurseit to get whatever MPG you like on level ground, if you can limit yourself to 60mph by avoiding peer pressure. At 60, I get 23.6mpg every single time I travel my route to my caabin, on the non-Interstate, level 4-lane which has few lights. This drops of course when I hit the dirt road or return to the city, but it has been consistent for 15 years. Once in Kansas, as a stunt, I slowed to 50mph and got over 26mpg. If you find yourself running out of gas or cash, try slowing down. I have the Blizzard Pearl paint. There was a recall campaign because of peeling paint and my hood was repainted under that program. I was rear-ended once and the repair wa only $1400 because the engineers had resisted the idiotic idea of sticking a spare tire on the rear end as a "bumper". If it had that feature, the repair would have been at least $5000. Just say no to stupid design.

It's now 2024 and this is the last year for this generation of 4Runner. They are moving forward with the 6th gen and it's body-on-frame. Only Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler are body-on-frame today. Seems that a frame is a think of the past for the SUV market today.
