    This video demonstrates the proper way to adjust the freeplay in your clutch pack and clutch cable on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. It's important to have these properly adjusted to ensure full engagement and regular wear on your clutch components. If you have the cable too tight it won't allow the clutch to fully engage when it's supposed to, if you have the cable too loose the clutch will not fully disengage when you pull the clutch lever in both of which will cause premature wear on your clutch components. In this video we show how to adjust the clutch on a Harley Davidson with a cable driven clutch. Thanks for watching and be sure to visit our website for a wide variety of parts, accessories and apparel for you and your Harley Davidson! www.rockymountainatvmc.com/

    What does it mean when you can't get pressure on the clutch lever and going into gears makes an awful grind noise?

    Just to asking, my clutch is bit far to engage, is this include to solve my clutch problem?

    I have a 2000 Springer Softail. After replacing the compensator and adjusting the clutch at the lever handle and at the clutch basket, I now find that I have way too much slack and I have run out of cable to adjust. What can I do? This is with the engine cold and standing straight up, with front wheel straight.

      That seat is from Drag Specialties. I can't remember the exact name of the design, but that is who it is from. That's me and my Harley. th-cam.com/video/8ckhv2CIH1A/w-d-xo.html

    Straight up and down unless you have a dry primary belt then it don't matter.

    Do you adjust it with the bike in gear or in neutral?

  • @hoodedgood
    @hoodedgood ปีที่แล้ว

    That’s not how you use a torque wrench and a crowfoot. Always make sure the crowfoot is at a 90° angle, having it the way they show in the video leads to increased torque and while probably not a big deal here can be in other applications.
    The distance from the dial is what gives you the accurate torque spec extending that changes the fulcrum, changing your torque.

    those type cables DO NOT get lubed. Most braided cables are nylon lined and if you lube them the nylon swells up and pinches the cable. No need to lube them .
