I would've checked the actual voltage of each battery with a meter, because even though they're both "fully charged " there may still be a difference between the two in voltage. Hey Sessions! Great video! I bought the ranger a couple months ago for my wife's ZX and it's been running great. I also have the chibatteries quick charger for the ZX. I used your promo code btw...thanks! 😁One question (or worry) i have is charging both batteries at the same time. i believe you mentioned that if both batteries are still on the bike, you can plug in the charger on the stock battery and both batteries will charge. Chibatteries says it's okay to do as well. I'm a little worried about doing this because of what my friends have been telling me. I've been told that if the batteries are off by even 1%, i could fry the BMS. They say batteries must be at the same voltage. So with that said, i've been charging the batteries separately which is an inconvenience especially when we're doing long rides. On long rides i would like to charge the stock battery have them charge together but there are times when we don't have enough time to charge it back to 100%. Would it be okay to unplug and then continue riding? Any advice or suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
I’m definitely not the expert here but I haven’t heard the off by 1% thing. Could be a possibility. Something I do when I charge them together is once the charger shows complete, I’ll take the fast charger and top each on off to make sure it’s even. There’s no harm in taking off the CBS and just running the stock battery. In fact, you could just leave it off, but still mounted on the bike and be just fine. Just make sure they’re charged back to even when you use them both again. CBS has awesome customer support and they could probably give you more insight. Thanks for buying through my link!
