I have sports seats plus with heated seats. You might be right about later 987.1 being better for bore scoring. I also have Sports Cronos pkg and PASM. Sports steering wheel (round horn). Mine is low milage 59,000kms and manual. Eventually, I’ll probably get bore scoring but in the future.
steering wheel scuff is probably from keys/phone/knife being attached to your right pocket.. I had this happen on a previous car and figured out it was my EDC knife that was rubbing against the steering wheel whenever I got in.. Right around the 7-8 o'clock position
The only time this guy seems to post on both his channels is when he’s selling a car 🤷♂️ the messed up thing is, he expects us to buy a car from him which we ain’t even seen him do nothing on any of the cars including this one yet he says it’s been on the channel and had everything. Be very cautious guys I see someone struggling and trying to pass a car that needs a ton of money to someone else.
There's a guy with another channel that bought a yellow 911 from him that needed a LOT of work after this hack had the engine completely torn down and "rebuilt" using a cheepo shop. I started to do a deal with him on a BMW a few years ago and decided it was a bad idea.
Hey Nathan, I love your videos and love your opinions on real world matters. I’ve been watching several of your older cayman videos trying to figure out and help what’s going on with my cayman’s engine. I’d love to get in contact with you and have a chat. Love the content man. Let me know if there’s anyway I can get in contact with you! Thanks!
Hey Nathan, I have a question I'm looking at getting a 987 Cayman base, I was planning on getting a s model but I didn't want to deal with bore scoring, so my question is if I got a base model Cayman and put in some upgrades to get more horse power will it get bore scoring or is bore scoring not from HP but from what the cylinder wall is made out of?
"RARE"....never trust anyone who has to tell your it's rare....every Corvette owner out there. There are a lot of opinions in this video based on....no facts.
Said the camry owner. He's not saying his Cayman is worth 100k bc it's blue and has certain options, but if you know anything about the Porsche market there are VERY FEW caymans on the market right now and almost all are black, white, silver, base models. By the time you try to get an S, manual, sport chrono, etc it's a very small % caymans Porsche built and then even fewer that are available for sale at a particular time. It's not an exclusive car (ie low production number like 911R, or a Lamborghini) but that doesn't mean it isn't rare.
Ok, I will be the nemesis here of sorts -Just being brutally honest as i see it- Over and over again you state the bore score is a huge problem in these cars .2008 to 2012 not exempt. That is it Not an if, is a matter of when. Now, your car is absolutely free of this defect?...argh argh As you state in prior Vids, " it could happen the next start-up." From all I have read and attempted into a coagulated thought process, the bore score should be considered a congenital defect with these cars and their cylinder liners. Not clear of it. They all have the disease, It is just the way it is, much just like a tire wearing out. Now , your car is free of it , and rare, and good to go, whereas other cars should be looked at with high mileage as pretty much malignant. Now do I or "we" hear a salesman talking? LOL Ya just can't have it both ways Nate. Now dont get me wrong, I do appreciate your vids and wisdom and travels abroad and all the cylinder liner expose (ay) you have brought to the afore. However, I do think it needs some self-application? thanx
Vast majority of porsches are bought in black or silver, then it has all the desirable options checked. Just like Mustangs aren't rare cars, but it's damn rare to find certain colors with PP2 optioned, with Recaros, with a manual, with the upgraded interior, etc. Ford might make 500k mustangs and only 1-2% of them have that build combination, just look at used car websites and see how hard it is to find ANY caymans for sale much less one with all the enthusiast boxes ticked. It's not like it's a rare special version of the cayman, but if you're looking for that particular option list, it can be very hard to find
@@eurly93 That goes for every car. The one you seek is always rare. But this is just a basis cayman S in blue nothing really that special and not rare at all. It's a typical US thing to name a specification rare. "yeah it's the only one in blue, with recaro's build in 2008." Common if you did deep enough every car is a one of one. This is just a middle specced Cayman in blue.
I think he sold all his cars from what someone told me. he also don’t have money to do Porsche anymore and neither bmw 😭😭 so he’s left his channels hanging but won’t come back and say that as that would be embarrassing wouldn’t it? Considering he started a Porsche channel 🤦🏽♂️
He’s got nothing to buy with and nothing to trade with. I doubt this guy will be back nobody trusts him with their cars because of his cowboy antics if anybody knows Porsche well now it’s his buddy in England BMW Doctor he’s rebuilding another 997 4S he purchased and he’s doing really well. Found him via the FB group for his engine removal and he didn’t remove it on a shopping cart and drop the engine proffesional and exactly what you need to see 👍🏽
Being a wile. Good to see you back on the channel. Car looks absolutely fantastic!

That is a great sports car and very well maintained. Someone will be a very satisfied new owner!
Long term keeper preference if sitting side by side and sorted? Cayman vs 996 vs 997

I meant to say, I'm going to be sorry to see her go.

This one i can guarantee doesent have bore score at this point in its life , seems the worst cars for bore scoring are 06 and 07 tip
Usually it’s doom and gloom when it comes to 987 and 997. But not this one….
So what exactly makes this rare?
