I am very excited that with their 100 year Anniversary they once again are pushed back in the spotlight of excellence. I think MB will learn that there is an untapped market for more colored FPs of their Meisterstuck line, and we should see more releases to come. About time they went back to their Jazz Age roots.
Montblanc should look at its nonexistent launch for this line, then look at this video, then fire their entire marketing team and pay Samuel as a consultant for all future marketing.
@SamuelNaldi did an excellent job as usual. There will be an official launch sometime soon but don’t think that this is not all planned out or bad planning. They know exactly what they are doing. This is not all that is scheduled for this line, there will be more releases.

Agreed. I feel like I would use the Design 08 and the 149 would just be an addition to the collection. Because of that, I was leaning toward the 08, but I agree with your recommendation - 08 can wait. Further, I’d hate to miss out on this piece of Montblanc history.
Nice video Samuel. Since watching your videos I have gone to mostly using a fountain pen or a rollerball, rarely pick up a ballpoint anymore, not that there is anything wrong with doing so,. Can the cap on a Montblanc rollerball be removed and replaced MULTIPLE times a day with no damage to the cap or barrel? I have 4 Montblancs, just lacking a the fountain pen from them.
The pens look stunning in hand. Quality control has been excellent this time. Montblanc is generous to have kept the 149 Black/platinum model in reasonable price range. But it's released only in Medium. Going to give it for nib alteration to FINE, next week.
Other reviews have suggested the medium nib on the anniversary 149 is closer to a fine than a traditional medium. Waiting for FedEx to show up later today with mine…

For the 145 Classique in green, you say in the video that it is a cartridge converter and on your website it indicates that it is a piston filler, I was under the impression due to the gold part at the end of the pen that it would be a piston, could you clarify it for me ? Great video otherwise !
Beside the red one the whole collection is pretty underwhelming to me. In person, the cap material looks cheap and mismatches the barrel. The metal piston knobs throw the balance off the pen and makes it back heavy (some people like that). Thanks for explaining where these designs come from. I was confused what the inspiration was for these. Patiently waiting for 200 anniversary collection, may be it'll more exiting. :)
I really like the weight of this 149 … it is just a little more back weighted than my other 149s. And the cap with the Ink effect is just mesmerizing; understated in normal light but with bright lighting or outdoor sunlight it really is something special; not like some of the other resins out there, this is classy.
Got a meisterstuck from my wife as a gift and since then I stumbled on your videos and got into pen collecting. As a newbie, if you are going to drop say $10k into a pen collection and have an idea of what you like, is there a way to get those as cost efficiently as possible? (i.e. wait until certain times, retail, ebay)
Thanks for the excellent presentation as always. As for my impressions: I only like the 149, especially the metal parts and the color. However, I really dislike the cheap looking (at least to me) clip and the engraving. The other models are a bit too gaudy for my personal taste, especially the red one. Overall, I'm not sure yet if I'll get another 149.

Honestly, a bit disappointed. The design and the old logo is actually rather nice but the nib design doesn't do the trick for me for a 100 year Anniversary. The coral color is too flamboyant for me but rather I think that the same design would have looked better in green. It just doesn't feel exclusive enough for me. I had been saving up and when I saw these I decided to get another pen from Montblanc that just looks way more classy, missed opportunity to be honest. Specially for the price point of the higher end models
The Clip is very “new” in the eyes of everyone, cause there is almost no big brand who did such a clip in the last 70 years - it will get more interesting over time, you will see ❤️🙏🏼🙂😉
I love the clip I think there is a lot of design history in this pen that makes them very interesting and would love one from that perspective, I was just sort of expecting something like precious stones or mother of pearl. I do kind of agree with you on the 100th editions. I loved how the 75th Anniversary Editions had the small diamond added on the "name plate" of the cap. Something small that added significance.

By the way Aurora who was founded in 1919 also produced this same clip in the 1950s with their amazing Aurora 88big (one day I will get this beauty).
Montblanc should have released the entire line up exclusively in le grand size. Squeezing in 149 in the line up is not a good idea. MB 149 was launched in 1952 and therefore it has nothing to do with the centenary edition. Initially I liked MB 149 but then the MB Solitaire in Coral will prove to be the sought after instrument from the origin collection.
Both Models will be extremely sought after. And it does make sense that they did the 149, as this is the celebration of the Model as a whole, not of a specific model launched on a specific year. 🙏🏼

Absolutely disappointed. I think Montblanc got lost in order to produce a masterpiece 100th anniversary collection. I personally think this is a total disaster.
I just love my 149 and Doue LeGrand from this collection. Everything is so well designed and thought out … I think if you had the 149 in your hand you might change your mind.
My first impressions were similar however once I saw the pens in person I realized the amount of thought and control that went into the choices. Sometimes the best things take a moment to process and make sense like a good film I didn’t quite ‘get’ the first time. The 149 is incredible.

that is a mistake on our site. It's converter cartridge like all Classique Fountain Pens. Sorry for the mistake.
Is the solitaire actually lacquer, not colored plastic?

I saw an unboxing video. Honestly they could have done a better job on the box. It was very underwhelming.
