@@MarioMario-bq7wz that’s understandable, I just believe that people forget the reason on what Odyssey was supposed to be in the first place, a fun open sandbox with lots of varying collectables with an amazing moveset rather than just platforming to get to the end of the stage

Tbh I had more fun with 3D World, not Odyssey. I know Odyssey was bigger and just more more more, but 3D World had more charm. Loved the cat suit and the smaller more linear levels were fun and creative.
I didn't enjoy the catsuit an I love Mario games. The catsuit made me rush thru the game an I wasn't enjoying it... Catsuit is better in a open world more imo

It's all personal taste. But for me, I prefer the side scrolling in an 3D platforming game over the open sandbox/collecthon because I found them simple & more fun and not as tedious and an chore. Even without which gameplay style I liked more, I still think 3D World is better. Mainly because the level designs, the worlds, power-ups & the challenge were handled better and has more variety in 3D World. Also having to play other characters with their own abilities was nice, playing it both solo & multiplayer works well, no filler and it had more replay value. The only thing Odyssey does have is the movesets & customizable clothing. But that's it. I prefer 3D World more.
3D WORLD IS WAYYY BETTER. I have no idea why so many people enjoy collecting Moons, which are literally like the Korok seeds in BOTW. Yes, you can freely explore the worlds, but for me, this isn’t fun when there’s no challenge in them. 3D World, on the other hand, has well-designed levels with more of a challenge and many different themes, while Odyssey only uses one theme per world. Power-ups are also much better than this garbage capturing mechanic, which doesn’t even upgrade or improve the moveset. Every level in 3D World feels like a short but fun journey, whereas Odyssey only has a few Moons that take longer than 30 seconds and are actually good. Odyssey is one of the most overrated Mario games ever, and 3D World is way better in my opinion. The music is also better in 3D World, in my opinion. There are a few good tracks in Odyssey, but 3D World has far more really good ones. This would be my 3D Mario ranking: 7. Sunshine 6. 3D Land 5. Odyssey 4. 64 3. 3D World 2. Galaxy 1. Galaxy 2
True but it was more creative. Problem with 3D World the catsuit made me rush thru the game without enjoying it... The catsuit power makes 3D World less fun. I only like Catsuit in a open world
Here’s my ranking: 7-Mario galaxy 6-Mario galaxy 2 5-super Mario 3D land 4-super Mario 3D world 3-super Mario sunshine 2-super Mario 64 1-super Mario odyssey

I really enjoyed Odyssey, it was quite an adventure, but I had way more fun playing 3D world on my Wii U back in the day. I haven't had the chance to try Bowser's Fury because I don't own the Switch version, but I heard it's really awesome.

To me Mario Oddyssey's post game is perfect. As someone who has never 100% a game and almost never completes a game twice, having to collect everything in a game to access the final level is really tedious and not fun, and odyssey fixed that problem by having enough moons to access it in spots with some challenge, but not too much or too difficult to find for me to enjoy the journey to Darker Side.
I disagree with lots of u lol, I loveddd odyssey and was okay with 3d world. But my favorite types of games tend to be such games, like Spyro is another example for me. I like being able to roam freely, complete tasks and have mini games versus strictly look around and then to a normal 3d world level. 3d world was nice but odyssey for me is the best
I like linear better, from the first SMB, where you just jump into the level and know where to go from the start. It has such a "flow", and you don't need instructions to know what you have to do; just advance in the path, and avoid or defealt the enemies, and look for secrets. When I tried the "sandbox" games, I don't even know where to go or what to begin doing, until I look up how to play it (like when I first tried Odyssey in Nentendoworld, I was in the forest with the T-Rex, but didn't have Cappy, and had no idea what to do). I also find the ide of taking over villains (like entering their soul or something) to be a bit disturbing, especially when you see them in a daze when you exit them.
I’m going to be honest, I was not expecting so many people to say 3D World. 3D World was the game that made me fall in love with video games as a whole. My opinion is that 3D World is better.
I say it's equal for me. I really like the movement of Mario and Cappy and Oddessy. And the game looks great. 3D world looks great too, and it is a mix of 2d and 3d mario which i really like it. So for me it balances out between the two titles and they are some of my favorite games in the franchise
Oh man this is so tough. WITH Bowser's Fury I think of 3D World as THE definitive Mario experience. There is no grind in either part of that game (unless you want all character stamps). But Odyssey is so immersive, it just gets to be a bit of a grind for the moons but that was intended for the portable pick-up-and-play. The Bowser castle levels on both are magic ✨
Odyssey is my favorite Mario game but comparing the two is pointless since they're very different type of games and it just comes down to preference. 3D World is still a 10/10 game in my opinion.
I got a switch with these 2 games so these are bother my introduction to Nintendo and they are both beloved by me I don’t have a favourite really but if I had to pick it would be odyssey
You should make this a leaderboard series, like winning games going up and up to the championship. Something like: 64 vs its DS remake Galaxy vs its sequel Sunshine vs 3D Land 3D World vs Odyssey(which you did) Of course this is only an example, but do you know what I mean?
Smo is better because 1, Costumes 2, A basically Open world map 3, More and better collectibles 4, Way more content 5, it is one the most good looking Nintendo games ever Now that’s my opinion so don’t fight with me 🎉
3D World for the content (seriously, you're only done 1/3 of the game once you beat Bowser) Odyssey for the moveset, best moveset, I love the ideas like the 8bit sections and the easter eggs
In Odyssey you have done about 1/6 of the game once you beat bowser. Yes, there's only two new kingdoms, but kingdooms in Odyssey are generally vast and various, while two final kingdoms serves as final gauntlets other kingdoms are expanded with fresh content. There are some moons that are stupid or uninteresting but overall I think content goes to Odyssey
Odyssey has the capture mechanic (best hook of any Mario game) and far better controls than 3D Worldns isometric setup. Odyssey is less linear and has more gameplay variety. Odyssey has a better soundtrack. Odyssey is just better.
In my opinion, both games are great, and both have a lot of content and replay value. Super Mario Odyssey has the unique story and loads of collectibles, but Super Mario 3D World has more reasons to replay levels, such as having to complete each level with each character for 100%. Honestly, it would be very hard for me to choose just one game. Although if you're counting the Bowser's Fury side mode, then I would say that SM3DW was better.
It's SURPRISILLY HARD to choose between of Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Odyssey which is BETTER game because they're both so FREAKING AMAZING 3D Mario games I have a good memories with 3D World what was my first game for a Wii U when I got it easily over 10 years ago 2014 it felt so nice to play it for tje first time defienitily it was so FUN to be a cat and there's Rosalina as a playable character and it's still one of my FAVOURITE Wii U games/Nintendo games of all time the Switch version interested me only because it have Bowser's Fury an Open World Mario DLC what would be Mario's future and I have a GOOD MEMORIES with Odyssey too I remember how me and my friends when we were young teens I remember and still in school 2016 when the Switch was still coming can't believe it's over 8 years since that and it's a FREAKING 7 YEARS when the Switch and Super Mario Odyssey were launched I still remember my BIG HYPE for they! But if I really need to choose which is better game I think Odyssey is because it was one of the Switch's first games and still in 2024 in my opinion the BEST Nintendo Switch game that have an Open Worlds even New Donk City inspired by New York City, you fly to the Moon in Space and there's even a Dragon boss that came like out of NOWHERE, but it's so COOL and about of the music Odyssey has the BEST soundtracks and defienitily songs that video games never had Pauline's Jump up Superstar and ending songs and the main theme are so AWESOME so I would personally say Odyssey is BETTER than 3D World and I would LOVE to see the Switch 2 3D Mario game would be Galaxy 3 or Odyssey 2 defienitily Odyssey 2 because because Cappy needs to be in the next 3D Mario game it would be too diffrent to play a 3D Mario game without Cappy after Odyssey and Super Mario Odyssey 2 would be even BIGGER with more Space like Galaxy that I REALLY HOPE, but let's see what's the next 3D Mario game Super Mario Adventure: Here we GOO WAHOO! 😊❤
3D world is conventional platformer , while odyssey is open world Adventure Platformer, 3D world customer base could be for kids generally , Odyssey mostly for adults. However Mario odyssey is the definition of Video game, this is how video game should be …. Unfortunately there is no other options for Mario odyssey, none of gaming industry is actually focusing on developing similar games , there is a big scarcity in this genre , we have tons of side scrolling old school platformers but not open world adventure platformers. I think Pokémon company should be pioneer in this genre , indeed they have a bigger market than Mario. They are not exploring this option - pickachu adventure could be easily developed like Mario Odyssey.
I don’t know about what game did better last super Mario Galaxy or odyssey I don’t think so u can’t include galaxy without galaxy 2 so I don’t know how that works end up since both galaxy and odyssey are both equally in their own way

@@NathanielVilla-r1t No, I say that because it has better gameplay, better power ups, better level design, better navigation through the galaxies, better prankster comets system and missions, better bosses (except the final bosses) and revisiting previous stages with new objectives as post game content > replaying the exact same game. I love Galaxy as well but 10 pages of optional don’t put it above Galaxy 2.
Hmmm... I'm gonna have to say 3D world! Looking back 3d world is just a more overall solid game, odyssey whilst being a monumental leap for 3D mario, I felt as though alot of odyssey is just fluff to pad out the adventure. 3D world feels more coherent i supposed you could say.
i can already see mario odyssey HD remake on nintendo switch 2😂😂, coming in 2025, just like mario 3d world on wii, 2013 to 2021, and 2017 to 2025, so 8 years perfectly😂😂
This is going to get major flack, but 3D World and Odyssey are my least-favorite 3D Mario games. 3D World can honestly be kind of boring if you're playing it single-player. The platforming is made to be really forgiving to accommodate for 4 people, so the challenge is almost nonexistent for most of the game. In this regard, I actually found 3D Land to be more enjoyable since it wasn't hampered by level design that needed to account for the frantic nature of four players. The game is fun if you have someone else to play with, but by yourself, it can be a slog. Cat suits were also kind of a lame gimmick, and after Galaxy pushed Wii hardware to it's limits, I expected more from the next 3D Mario game. Odyssey was more ambitious than 3D World, returning to the series' open, sandbox roots. But it has a similar problem of being too easy for the majority of the game. Power Moons are a dime a dozen, and it doesn't feel gratifying to collect them most of the time. They can get very repetitive--kick the glowing rock, ground pound the glowing spot, put on a costume and walk through this door... not to mention you can buy them in bulk at the shop. More than half the Moons feel like filler, like I didn't have to accomplish anything to unlock them. The game just hands them to me. And the Cloud Kingdom and Ruined Kingdom are such wasted potential and feel honestly unfinished. I appreciate that Odyssey isn't as vanilla though and has unique NPC's and worlds. Ultimately, I give both games like an 8/10. Which isn't bad, but it's disappointing by Mario standards, which are usually 10/10 masterpieces. I think Mario 64, the Galaxy games, and even 3D Land and Sunshine were all significantly better.
While I don't necessarily agreed with your take on 3D World & such, I can understand where your coming from. Same with your take on Odyssey. Though I do agree Odyssey isn't the best 3D Mario game like many people say.

@@gregericson4868I disagree with his opinion, but I ain’t hating on him
Oh man this is so tough.
Thematically, I prefer the 3D World Bowser Carnival over Odyssey's Japanese Bowser Castle, but both are well done.
I didn’t even watch the video I just say it’s 3D World. A game I always played with my brothers.. I miss that time 💔…
Odyssey is my favorite Mario game but comparing the two is pointless since they're very different type of games and it just comes down to preference. 3D World is still a 10/10 game in my opinion.
I got a switch with these 2 games so these are bother my introduction to Nintendo and they are both beloved by me I don’t have a favourite really but if I had to pick it would be odyssey
Cool.
Bro forgot trickjumps and out of bounds for replay ability
You should make this a leaderboard series, like winning games going up and up to the championship. Something like:
64 vs its DS remake
Galaxy vs its sequel
Sunshine vs 3D Land
3D World vs Odyssey(which you did)
Of course this is only an example, but do you know what I mean?
I like to see a video of which 2D Mario game is better. New Super Mario U or Super Mario Wonder?
Smo is better because
1, Costumes
2, A basically Open world map
3, More and better collectibles
4, Way more content
5, it is one the most good looking Nintendo games ever
Now that’s my opinion so don’t fight with me 🎉
3D World for the content (seriously, you're only done 1/3 of the game once you beat Bowser)
Odyssey for the moveset, best moveset, I love the ideas like the 8bit sections and the easter eggs
@@cringe_magistr Don't forget the Mushroom Kingdom, which actually makes three new kingdoms post-credits.
0:32 the background music is sm3dw but the gameplay is smo
I love both (and Bowser's Fury too)!
Odyssey. But I do like both games.
I had much more fun in 3d world but smo is objectively better, also I prefer 3d world’s music
This is the easiest question ever. Mario odyssey is the best Mario game ever. 3d world is cool, but it’s not even close
Odyssey is my favourite game of all time
my third favorite
could not agree more!
Odyssey is boring and repetitive. I had more fun with the packaging.
@@bethanyh1637 liar. You probably are blinded by nostalgia for the lost levels or smb2 us
I mean I like both
Same here.
I say odyssey both are great
It's SURPRISILLY HARD to choose between of Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Odyssey which is BETTER game because they're both so FREAKING AMAZING 3D Mario games I have a good memories with 3D World what was my first game for a Wii U when I got it easily over 10 years ago 2014 it felt so nice to play it for tje first time defienitily it was so FUN to be a cat and there's Rosalina as a playable character and it's still one of my FAVOURITE Wii U games/Nintendo games of all time the Switch version interested me only because it have Bowser's Fury an Open World Mario DLC what would be Mario's future and I have a GOOD MEMORIES with Odyssey too I remember how me and my friends when we were young teens I remember and still in school 2016 when the Switch was still coming can't believe it's over 8 years since that and it's a FREAKING 7 YEARS when the Switch and Super Mario Odyssey were launched I still remember my BIG HYPE for they!
Meanwhile, Animal Crossing on the mobile game is shutting down
I don’t know about what game did better last super Mario Galaxy or odyssey I don’t think so u can’t include galaxy without galaxy 2 so I don’t know how that works end up since both galaxy and odyssey are both equally in their own way
Mario 3d world is a 2d mario, but in 3d, but mario oddyssey is a real 3d mario game. I can't say that one is better tht the other, bc they have completely different directions
ODYSSEY (bias reasons). 3D WORLD, only cuz it has good multiplayer!🤣
It's hard to take this video seriously when you start with "Story" for a Mario game.
Both are better than Wonder, IMO.
Odyssey
Odyssey is better.
Do you have that tingle outfit yet?
Odyssey loses all its magic immediately after beating the main game
I think Mario Odyssey is more creative & pretty but Mario 3D World is more fun 😅
Easiest question in the history of the universe. 3D World is the only Mario game ever I never even finished.
Reason?
@@scanchannel3259 The only Mario game ever I thought was meh 🫤
@@Nextendoh Still not a reason if you won't tell me the aspects that you think are meh.
@@Nextendoh The levels had alot of creativity but I can sorta understand why you think it's meh?
@@Nextendoh Personal preferences ≠ quality
You’ll have to come up with something better than that if you want to convince us that Odyssey is the better game.
ODDESY IS THE BEST GAME EVER
7:42 no you don't. You have to reach the top of the flag pole once, and you have to beat the level with every character. They don't all have to reach the top
I speak for all Nin10doland fans when I say “We haven’t had enough Switch 2 videos”
No, nobody but you says that. Stop talking about the stupid Switch 2 until Nintendo actually says something about it.
Every video he makes on it they delay it a week
no, nobody wants this.
even Nin10doland is tired of Switch 2.
I love both
Honestly, as much as I prefer Galaxy and Odyssey over 3D World, I respect TH-camrs like Switch Stop who have the audacity to say that it is objectively better.
You should do a poll
Answer neither Galaxy is the Goat but they are on the podium
1)The question is "Which of these two games is the better one?", not "Which of these two games is the best Mario game?".
2)Galaxy isn’t the GOAT, Galaxy 2 is.
Your saying that because it has yoshi, i love yoshi but that doesn’t make it any better sorry
Galaxy64
0:53 Well then Mario Odyssey clears
Give me 3D World like i always play this game every day. Odyssey is also very good New Donk City is my fictional home
3D World is my favorite 3D Mario game
Hmmm... I'm gonna have to say 3D world! Looking back 3d world is just a more overall solid game, odyssey whilst being a monumental leap for 3D mario, I felt as though alot of odyssey is just fluff to pad out the adventure. 3D world feels more coherent i supposed you could say.
3D world > odyssey
even tho I’m slightly biased it’s true
Odyssey better
i can already see mario odyssey HD remake on nintendo switch 2😂😂, coming in 2025, just like mario 3d world on wii, 2013 to 2021, and 2017 to 2025, so 8 years perfectly😂😂
3d World
3d world
mario sunshine will always be the best
I like your braveness to say that. That game is SO underrated.
