After 20 films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally has a female-led superhero film, introducing Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel to the world. The incredibly powerful character is being introduced just in time to lend a hand in Avengers: Endgame. Her origin story definitely raises some questions though. Like why is that Skrull leader Australian? How much did Marvel spend in de-aging technology? Why does Carol’s costume randomly have the ability to change design? What ARE her powers exactly? Saw the MIB trailer and realised that actually Hemsworth's Thor accent isn't some unique Asgardian thing he thought up... It's .. his best English accent actually.
Little known fact: Astrobiologists agree the Aussie accent and dialect were designed by ancient aliens to sound EXACTLY like their native tongue. There's no other reasonable way to explain Australian slang.

4:25 the incredible cuteness of that cat giving Ryan a big hug totally killed my suspension of disbelief.
Well, the cat kept looking one way, and then the other way, so it proved that this was shot out of sequence, which really killed my immersion, but it was super cute, so it's fine.

This movie clashed with the other movies. Nick Fury learned there was more to the world with the first Thor... but in the mcu, he should've already known by this movies presentation.
I mean learning about aliens would be shocking indeed. Learning one of them is actually Thor from Norse mythology, would be a totally different level.

Doesn't explain a thing about the scene. If anything it makes him a fool. When confronted he blames it on Thor. The research they found went back further had to. So one scene made 3 characters into dummys.
The best response at that time was partial blame on Thor and Loki... Then go into the part where they aren't alone stating they both know it and hes seen things only about 4 people on that ship could even imagine. Things that make Asgardians look like puppies. (meaning Thor/Loki)

In Air Force fighter pilot culture, if you have a cool sounding call sign without a story to back it up, it means that people don’t really like you. So I’d say it’s lore accurate.

Ryan is so brilliant in his merciless dissection of movie weaknesses. Too bad the studios don’t hire him to critique their screenplays and storyboards BEFORE their films are finalized.

Honestly I thought they gave her to much personality.. like ever second she was making an snarky comment that didn't fit her character. She looked like a bad ass dark warrior, but kept throwing a strange smirk with a unneeded comment on something.
That said, minus her acting (which I don't understand because she's an great actress) the movie was great, the story was fun and the CGI was beautiful. Hell I'll even state the sounds track was good, usually marvel music (minus winter soldier and Avengers) suck

That line was to set up the SR article at the end which was about people leaving negative reviews before the movie was even out. @@jay_mw I hated this narrative they pushed because, personally, I was kind of excited to see a female-led MCU movie. I thought it'd be a nice change of pace. But it was a pretty lousy movie with a pretty shitty lead character, so I guess that means I'm an incel now. Also: Stealing a guy's motorcycle isn't something heroes do, it's something bad guys do. But he told her to smile so that means he had it coming, or something.
