I used to watch this film a lot when I was in the eighth grade to freshmen year of high school. Exemplary cast with a timeless soundtrack!

Fantastic channel, brilliant music, particularly enjoying lots of the Ron Goodwin stuff - this one, Battle of Britain, Where Eagles Dare, Those Magnificent Men, Monte Carlo etc - such fun music bringing back memories of these films. Keep up the great work! 😀👍

"Force 10 From Navarone", starring the great Robert Shaw and a young Harrison Ford, was a well received movie by director Guy Hamilton, who is well known for his "James Bond - Goldfinger" and "Battle Of Britain". It seems that the director was very pleased with Ron Goodwin's musical work for the last mentioned project, that the composer seemed to be the natural choice for "Force 10".
Here, the British composer shows once more his scoring skills, providing a fine underscore and a very enjoyable British march (likely to be heard in the main- and fully in the end titles). I am just wondering why that marvelous composition is not often to find on various Best-Of-Goodwin albums, or better known? Enjoy!

It might suffer from the fact that the movie was not a great commercial success. I personally enjoy it greatly, and the opening and closing themes are brilliant adaptations of of the style of the traditional military march for the drama of an military action film. The rest of the music was very emotionally supportive of the action, and maintained a proper military feel without becoming too staid or rigid.
Thank you for assembling this collection of thematic music.

Another great Goodwin score. I remember seeing this movie in 1978 and Robert Shaw had just past away when it was released to theaters.

I never get tired of listening to this great piece of his. In particular the “Opening and Closing March”. A true classic British March !

Wunderschöner und erregender Marsch! Eher eine klassische Musik als Popmusik.

This score is one of my all-time favorites scores!!! It's full of kinds of blistering themes and it's very adventurous. Ron proved with this one that he is one of the most classically trained film composers that ever graced the music scene!!!

Mr. Goodwin is a genius!! I LOVE, from the deep of my heart, the score of " Lancelot and Guinevere "(1962)!!!!! I sing his main title when I'm happy - so beautiful, so melodious, so romantic!!... ooooh!... well... back to the present: in " Force 10 (...) " my favourite piece is " Down Bridge ". Thanks again, Fred!!!

8 yo when this came out, what an epic tune, the imagination was off the charts with this, Kelly's Hero's, B of B, Where Eagles Dare....Ron Goodwin ..pure genius.

Mallory (Actor Robert Shaw): But before we can start awarding ourselves Victoria Crosses and Congressional Medals of Honor and so on and so forth and such like... I think I'd better point out that one, we're now on the wrong side of the river. That two, we have no hope whatsoever of rejoining the partisans. That three, this neck of the woods will soon be crawling with very bad-tempered Germans. And that four, I don't think our little genius Sergeant Miller there has even got a box of matches left in his suitcase. And so I think we can take it, gentlemen, that we're going to have a very long walk home.

Interesting watching in 78. Quint and Han Solo. Post STAR WARS.
Great soundtrack and I loved the Lancaster bomber in the film.
I believe one of the German officers was the main German adversary in Last Crusade alongside Harrison Ford.

Beautiful and thrilling march! Rather a classical music than a popular music.

The theme A is explosive an inspiring. But when I llisten to the theme B,man…I can only think of Miller and his bag of tricks. So skeptical, so human…
