What really cracks me up is how norwegian bands is plagued with the incredibly cheerful melody of the language.

Yes omg. When I first heard Norwegian spoken I was like woah wtf this is super rhythmic, cheery and upbeat, so like… not black metal. Guys who talk like that think that they’re evil and shit lol. I enjoy black metal because it feels evil. The other bs is merely amusement lol

My best guess at a distinction for Norsecore is Black Metal that focuses on being heavy and aggressive at the expense of atmosphere. It usually includes a lot of blackened Death Metal for this reason. I would normally point to an album like Transylvanian Hunger as being the opposite end of the BM spectrum from Panzer Division Marduk, but according to this video, Darkthrone get lumped into Norsecore as well so fuck knows what it means.
Since when is this video the facts provider tho? He's as clueless as we are regarding ''Norsecore''.
Darkthrone themselves probably aren't "Norsecore" in the sense of slavish devotion to aggression or to Norwegian Black Metal orthodoxy, but bands that incessantly knock them off probably are. Darkthrone had a lot of very simplistic riffs and Fenriz really loves playing one midtempo blast for 4+ minutes on Transilvanian Hunger, so if your entire band concept is just "Transilvanian Hunger but more," it will probably end up at something that would be labeled as Norsecore.

How does darkthrone's panzerfaust compare to it? It's the only darkthrone album I'm familiar with
Darkthrone, Mayhem, Marduk etc. are somewhat popular, so maybe everything that is known by more than lets say 100 people is automatically classified as "poser music" aka Norsecore by the elitists.
Proof that the black metal scene will always find new and dumber ways of keeping the darkest, most obscure corners of the internet ablaze with a brand of elitism that even hipsters would consider as being too much...I love it.
I think a lot of us would agree that it would be absolutely awesome if you guys did a video on Swedish Death Metal.

Oh man, that is SO ironic and funny that modern Mayhem is lumped in with Norsecore!! Yeah, the whole 'sounds like shit' requirement originated with the Second Wave of Black Metal, so it's kind of redundant to put into the requirement of Norsecore, since it's a micro-genre of Black Metal, anyway. My brain hurts now...back to the video...
