The sad thing is that Rockstar and the actors involved record hours of extra hidden dialogue that the average player completely misses. They really should let us know we can make these calls that way we can experience everything these games have to offer.

The call after Pest Control was the best for me. Michael Hollick did such a wonderful job at depicting Niko's remorse and sadness in his voice, as much as his tiredness about killing. The words Roman used in trying to reconfort his cousin were appreciable too.

This is so cool. I finished this game like 10 times and i haven't discovered a lot from these. So much hidden and interesting things, one of the reasons why this is my fav game of all time
This game always felt very diffrent to me compared to other GTA's. _(In a good way that is)_ GTA IV always felt... *alive* . I always felt compelled and rather stressed because of all the decisions i had to make and having to control all the relationships between Niko and his "friends". I always felt like Niko was much more like a normal and relatable protagonist unlike all the other GTA protagonists. There are a lot of moments where you feel powerless, that you are pressured to do something you wouldn't want to and Niko always reflects that well as a character. I also never understood why people disliked Roman, i feel like he is geniunely trying his best to help Niko on his life decisions and he always is nice no matter what you do. I would always try to call him after missions to hear his opinions and just to calm down after a hard mission.
I agree I always thought gta4 was the most unique game of the franchise in that it feels like they put alot more emphasis on it's story and atmosphere then anything. Compared to GTA 5s Story that feels more like a big action movie but GTA 4 is much more gritty and grounded. All the colors are muted and 90% of the map is made up of concrete buildings and industrial areas that feel cold.
What I love about the niko character is that he has a chance to develop relationships and sounds sincere when he talks to his friends and loved ones. GTA 4 really was and still is a modern marvel.

If you try to do this in GTA 5 90% of the times no one will answer. They even give you useless phone numbers that will never call you or that you won't ever be able to call you like those of the stranger and freaks and Tanisha for some reason...
I just love the impression GTA IV gave me back in the day. The game just felt so realistic. Everything felt so real and heavy, atmospheric. Maybe that was just because of then new game's engine with new physics and all, but it's not just that, it's also the story. It's got an atmosphere I could really feel and sort of be a part of.

I’m glad to see someone is in love with GTA 4 as much as I am, even more I could say because you put so much effort into these videos. The first time I got the chance to play it was at a friends house, when I was 11 or 12, after playing the game once I knew that I wanted a PS3, so I begged my mother to get one for me and my brother for Christmas, aaaaand we got it. From that Christmas to round 2014 all my summers where spent in the house playing GTA IV, I’ve completed the game countless times, I enjoy the story so much, it just never gets old, still have a 100% complete game save, I remember pretending to be sick so I could stay at home and kill all the flying rats. I wish there was somewhere I could see how many hours I spent online, they could be over 500 hours, used to play with a bunch of aussies at the airport, we used to fill half the game up, fun times, they are missed. Now I’m 19, done my time in the army and working a 9-5 job and I still think about this every now and then. Shame to see that nothing special happened on the 10th anniversary, was hoping for at least something. Thank you for making videos about GTA 4 even to this day.

No matter how old this game gets, it will always be my absolute favourite GTA and Niko will always be my absolute favourite protagonist. It's insane how many of these I've never heard - just never occurs to me to call someone during a mission. I think the only one I've gotten myself is calling Dimitri before going in for the kill - and that's probably been on later playthroughs.
Extra: I'm playing again now for the 65th since 2008 and I came here to confirm a phone call received from Vlad after the mission "Clean getaway" If you wait a couple of days, and then around midnight he will call you saying the car look good and you did a great job.
I remember on one playthrough I killed playboy X and was friends with Dwayne but I didn't hang out much with him and he called me and asked if I was the one who called him when he was in the shower and I got kinda sad because I though this fictional character thought I was neglecting him

No matter how old this game gets, it will always be my absolute favourite GTA and Niko will always be my absolute favourite protagonist.
It's insane how many of these I've never heard - just never occurs to me to call someone during a mission.
I think the only one I've gotten myself is calling Dimitri before going in for the kill - and that's probably been on later playthroughs.

I remember on one playthrough I killed playboy X and was friends with Dwayne but I didn't hang out much with him and he called me and asked if I was the one who called him when he was in the shower and I got kinda sad because I though this fictional character thought I was neglecting him
