Nyako, I appreciate seeing you do that hair with that pot. That is a dangerous stuff, Now with the comb that was sent: you heat it in the fire; part the hair into small sections then comb each section through with the heated comb, of course you try to avoid touching the head. And yes you do use the vaseline or some other grease... and you do gr a more thoroughly straightened hair.

Oh Esther, watching this all I could this All I could think was I wish I was there to show you how to properly use pressing comb. One suggestion, only a small amount of oil is required. Too much oil actually increases the frying and burning of the hair. Love you .

Hi! I read the comments about someone sending a hot comb, and another about the cooking oil.
In the US many of us grew up having our hair straightened. The process by which the hair was cover with a moderate amount of actual hair grease, the hair parted in sections, straightening comb was heated and slowly pulled through the sections. Anyway, today I take care of my hair in its natural state…using coconut and tea tree oils the best of natural ingredients I can find. Be careful of the products and heat use of your hairs ladies. Take care, be well.

When I was younger here in the States, I remember my mother, female cousins, sister having their hair done at home somewhat like this, but with different methods! Back then it was the afro style, or when my mother braided my hair, called "plats"...then would undo the plats and it would create a "blow out" afro. It's wonderful seeing your methods here. And I must say Esther has a gorgeous shape!

Greetings my sister Nyako, let me introduce myself Ben from USA. I want to acknowledge that I have viewed many of your videos and I would like to applaud you for your various forms of servitude work two others. I regard your the strong black woman curious mind. At the point in time I'm making my comments there were only two others that had commented at this time. I'm not here to be critical but to be open two different viewpoints of the matter at hand which is straightening of another sisters afro. As you said one of your subscribers sent you basically what they call a hot comb and I'm not sure they provided you with all the information regarding use and the how. I just want you to think about what you're doing without that instruction. Basically you are applying a heated element the human hair saturated in cooking oil ? And no way am I trying to be funny or condescending. It is just my appreciation that all you're doing is basically frying human hair. I hope it all works out for you I will stay tuned for the final outcome ❤

Your comb must be heated from the fire. You section the hair into small parts and you use the hot comb to straighten the hair in small sections.

This isn’t how it’s done .. you’re supposed to have a broken piece of clay pot and damp the hair in water first not cooking oil , then have like 3 to 4 pieces of clay pot and heat them up and apply cooking oil when the hair is almost dry … I understand u don’t ve a broken clay pot but mehn using a big pot on someone’s hair ?

Sad, sad, sad, when will we concentrate on major problems we face instead of the transfiguration of our Crowning Glory? Do males also undergo this torture? Is the subliminal message straightened hair looks better, is better than curly hair? Sad, sad, sad! Some even perceive our skin as unattractive or unacceptable, are we to transfigure our skin also? Sad, sad, sad!
