God damn. This is what I’ve missed from modern League. I can’t remember the last genuinely viable off-meta build. Can’t wait for Riot to nerf this into the ground because they’re allergic to fun
AD Sylas has been around for a couple seasons now, Chimes is just shining a light on it. They haven't nerfed it yet, and the only thing they could nerf about it is the Passive. I don't see it being an issue.
@@tillbold357 I don't remember exactly why but not long ago (post manamune nerfs) I saw a GM or Challenger sylas one trick that swears it is broken bc u don't go oom just trying to push one wave and u can just farm top and get to 3 itens besides the damage but idk tbh
Ravenous Hydra is awesome on AD Sylas since his passive autos apply the cleave effect on every hit enemy, making his wave clear a breeze, while getting more AH on the go.
yeah but when to buy it. sunderer and botrk are too important and as 3rd item you are kinda squishy. could work if you are far ahead but some tanky item is probably better
@@Warrock1221 you replace bork with it - what was not mentioned in the video is that sylas' passive, which he should have up 24/7 once he has 40+ AH, do not apply lifesteal, which means you're grabbing bork mainly for the onhit passive (the attack speed part is obsolete bc you gain more attack speed than your cooldowns allow you to work your passive with). Hydra has (soon not anymore sadge) omnivamp and the cleave passive, all while not skipping on building more AH which is core on sylas. I won't claim that hydra is the better item here since I'm nowhere near high enough elo to talk about such things, but i will stay on my opinion that hydra is a lot more comfortable to play with. It also allows you to adapt to a splitpush playstyle in case your team needs it. Overall, i suggest keeping it as an alternative to bork for certain situations. Well, at least until they nerf it next patch :p

Reminds me of One For All, there was always that one guy that would go for an AD/AP build just to avoid having all 5 members having the same build and somehow, they performed better than anyone else in the team. I once fought against Sylas in One For All and there was that one guy that went AD Bruiser and he completely destroyed my team until I showed up with my own weird build being Crit Malphite at the time if I do remember correctly and proceeded to slap the crap out of him.
I miss Crit Malphite. Used to play it back when Sword of The Divine was still a thing and then again in URF/OFA. My version of this was AD LeBlanc in any "fun" mode. She was nuts in URF, OFA, even ARAM. Especially with the old runes system when you could go for a full page of crit damage runes. She's probably still good on those modes but I haven't played in a long time.

You'd go Triforce into Crit and run mixed pen runes and basically perma split or look for picks with your jg thanks to double dash -> chain or double chain CC. You'd have even better waveclear than the normal AP LB that didn't get every blue buff because of Stattik Shiv.
funniest thing is, despite building ad, your damage remains being magic damage bc your passive converts it just like corki's passive, but 100% magic, making your enemies don't know what resistances to build
I think this is anecdotal evidence that ad fighter/bruiser/tank items are simply superior than other classess' items. This whole preseason is "Can you rush Ravenous, Botrk, or jaksho? You win"
Yup. That's why bruiser items like death's dance shouldn't exist. They have everything- CDR, AD and resists plus passive which rewards you for going on agressively for a fast kill. No Item should be good at everything. You should sacrifice something. Tanks for an example don't have item except for mythics which have CDR, armor, HP plus passive which would benefit you.
@@6DarthSion9 Just give bruisers cooldowns that are a hair under Tanks imo. Deaths Dance shouldn't heal, Bork should be 10-13% scaling starting at level 10 like shieldbow, etc. Bruisers need a real overhaul but it's not going to happen for another year.

i was playing this thinking it was great like a year or two ago, but since i was like gold then i thought that was the reason and it wasn't actually good guess i was wrong
on ults to steal, keep in mind that sylas doesn't convert ratios on ults that both an ad *and* ap ratio, so something like an ezreal ult will still have an ad ratio. Also consider things that may give you some kind fo steroid, like vayne ult for example, although there are some weird exceptions that you can read on the wiki (such as olaf ult not granting bonus ad based on ur ap, even though riven ult does)
When I read through sylas kit the first time I wondered if you could do a high dmg ad build, but ditched the idea because it seemed to be too much effort for too little results. Nice to see that it does work.
Actually Manamune on Sylas is siper good item, because usually you go a mythic item with mana, that will convert into AD=>First Muramana passive=>Second Muramana passive. And your passive procks both of them. First as an auto, and second as an ability + gives you a ton of passive's damage. And because of that you have better wave clear. But not only that, if you will go full AP on Sylas you will have 2-3k damage less that in this build and losing 20 CDR from Manamune. Damn, that's actually OP.
I always knew 130% AD scaling on his passive was nuts and I've tried a similar build with Ravenous Hyrda rush before the buffed it for massive waveclear.
It looks huge but in reality you have to keep in mind normal autos have 100% AD scaling by default, so it's "only" 30% more damage than an auto would deal
@@thomasb5307 I'm not too sure but it might be normal autos plus passive but either way you get massive attack speed from it plus you deal magic damage so you can easily make a noob itemise incorrectly against you

A common build I use when I play him in arams is bork into riftmaker and it always feels amazing, I get quads and pentas with it all the time because people just can't kill me, and one w+auto heals like 60% hp
As someone that has played Ad sylas for more than a year, my build is tear into ionia boots into rift maker and manamune, then it depends on what im vs against, sometimes i go hydra / zhonya / ad bruiser item's. works rly well
I think part of this just shows how AP bruiser itemisation just doesn’t exist. AP champs need to dip into the AD item pool to get sustain/tankiness Nashor’s tooth: damage, attack speed BotRK: damage, attack speed, lifesteal, a slow
You have the riftmaker for sustain and a decent amount of AP items give HP aswell, but ultimately yes those bruiserish items don't really shine. Also Nashor's tooth scaling with AP means that you can't build too defensive otherwise the value of the on hit goes to waste.
little bit of testing and the full build damage is not more and ap. AP has more health, about same armor, a little less mr but has zhonyas as well as increased w healing. So in conclusion ad sylas might have greater wave clear and that really it. AP has more damage at 3 items (night harvester sorc shadowflame, rabadon) same dmg at 3 items if built zhonyas instead of rabadons, and AP has more damage at full built roughly around 800. All done on a dummy with 80 in each resistance. Done at level 13. This is all just to compare midgame where sylas really shines. so build ap, don't build ad, its really just troll.
@@nuzagreus ap is better damage on ability casts. But ad outdamages him in only 2 seconds of autos. Meaning u can one shot squishies just as before. But also stand a chance against tanks like sion. Which is the main reason sylas players lose games. (Enemy top lane/jgl gets fed)

so far, pretty fun. only critique, as someone who has only like 70 games of sylas at most. play with a group of people who dont care about your enemy laner going like 12/4/5 lol. (relearning is a hard process,) and people in normal games aren't very happy or nice about this "tech" lol. but over all pretty interesting and fun :D
I could definitely see throwing in a BORK into an otherwise "normal" Sylas build just for more sustained damage and anti-tank damage. Very interesting video!~
Although I don't play league anymore I will always have love for the fact that you can craft your own meta/build that can synergize very well with the champ you selected. With enough knowledge on the champs and in-game items, give it some time and you can make a brand new way to play league.
Yes and I love this channel for giving these unique players and unorthodox builds the spotlight. I watch his videos a lot even though I haven't played league for more than 3 years
If you did it on ap it would be much easier to punish. Ad is a bit less risky especially since he has a lot more health But I'm not arguing it is fair 😅 Btw he can't 1v1 every champ if he misses everything. He can 1v1 every champ... And he can also 1v1 some if he misses everything. Some are much harder but doable
Weaving autos is the ideal and you should aim to always do so but you do get a bit of leeway if the circumstances demand it, his passive stacks 3 times.

As a sylas main i used to spam divine onhit sylas build and it was pretty nuts as after getting divine+muramana powerspike u could outdamage whole enemy team while maitaining healthy because of w (that at max rank w/o ap heals for 200 anyways) and divines passive

Just used this in an ARAM- we were gonna be 5 AP so I gave it a go. Absolutely stomped. They were 3 ADC + Blitz + Xin and I went Sunderer-BoRK-Tabi-DDance. Even outduels the Xin somehow.
I knew this was real, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Manamune with this is based, and for truly comical damage rather than more bruiser stats, Ravenous Hydra is great. Spear of Shojin might be overkill but it's definitely not out of the question. The only sadness is that Sylas passive can't crit, IMAGINE if that was possible lmfao.
I’ve try press the attack on sylas ,but you can’t trigger press the attack,so I thought the on hit item won’t work on sylas since his attack is more like an ability. I tried this long ago. I’m not sure whether they change the code to make his auto attack become an auto attack but I’m happy with the result.
Riot should make a Champion that has AD AP Ratio Skills and Passive, 500 Dashes, Infinite Healing, No Mana, Tank, Bruiser, Assasin, Mage, Support, ADC, Jungler In a Single Champion
I have played AD sylas ever since his rework. I realized it was the closest to Pre Rework Sylas. My Build is a Tad different with me typically Throwing in a Steraks (I know it sucks, it's just a dope Item). But glad to see someone actually being successful with it LOL.

I played ad sylas some months ago too, i even had a similar build. i started mostly with tear and then got divine into bork into manamune, it was alot of fun tbh, funny to hear somenoe climbed with that build lol..

Looks to me like Player Diff. Good Sylas players can just get away with things normal mortals cannot. A bit like with K'Sante or Riven or Quiyana, where the difference between average player and top player is just that huge.
i would say manamune is kind of a must unless ur always getting kills because presence of mind or always having blue buff sylas mana issues are disgusting 2/3 mid/long fights and ur out of fuel
With Arena around and silly builds are abound, I want to talk about CRIT Sylas. Sylas's passive was recently changed to be able to be amplified by things like IE as well as benefit from Lifesteal. This allows isn't crazy, however, they also reworked a popular AP item known as Shadowflame to magic crit enemies, which it is also affected by IE. IE + Shadowflame Sylas is hilarious because your passive suddenly deals up to 1k damage per petricite burst. If you happen to be playing Arena there is another AP item for Crits which gives you shields for critting. This is the funniest Slap build in the mode. It can work to a lesser degree in ARAM if you want to try it with something like ER for mana. This pairs VERY well with another Sylas change, which was that PTA works with him now and PTA affects ALL targets which is highly beneficial for his secondary targets on his passive.
i've seen many ad sylas builds pop up on youtube but this one is definitely more thought through and ingenuine than most of the builds if not all of them. One variant to this build that I think would go fully into the frontline bruiser type sylas would be lichbane (for sheen and early AP) into goredrinker into maybe black cleaver, which yes loses AS and the max% damage but you get more health and AH along with a much better sustain tool. This would also mean sylas would focus more on engage ults to serve as a better frontline and not just a full blown killer.
A friend of mine built divine sunderer, shojin spear, ravenous hidra and botrk in a custom game while i was testing heart steel and he almost oneshot me being a shen full build with 7000 hp
My only concern with this build is that it seems like it is very item dependent. You could probably make it work if your team can play safe and not run it down while you just farm up though.
That goes for every pick, meta or not. Some teammates will just run it down and not give your pick a chance while chanting, "Pls report off meta for trolling." They're just a self-fulfilling prophecy.
With ap build, i win against irelia and yone ... i'm curious to see what champ do we lose what champ do we win + from your video for me we lack of burst so its not suitable for jungle sylas
Ravenous should work very well it seems, same as shojin and last cosmic insight for the max cd reduction. I would say cleaver but the armour shred shouldn't be that valuable since you aren't doing physical dmg with the empowered autos but am not sure if it procs off of bork and sunderer. Sweet style overall, tank sylas and tank fizz were my two favourite pics along with tank echo.. too sad that riot decided to make sylas have these disgusting ratios just to remove his tank option which was not even broken tbh....

I will 100% try this. It looks super fun I als wondered if its at all possible to skip Blade and instead go manamune and Black cleaver for insane cdr but idk if the damage is enough. Also zhonyas somewhere in the build sounds pretty good but I will test all of it haha Edit: Obviously Black cleaver sucks when you could also buy Things like frozen heart or sojin
ive run sylas with tank / bruiser items and gore drinker. it's good if they've got ad ults that scale and it's a ton of fun to play. i only play aram. sunderer might be fun too for longer fights or into tanks.
I mean, I don't think its surprising any that someone actually did this and went far with it. In a given fight you can get up to 6 procs of your passive without any CD refreshes, and each passive hit is at 130% AD with +125% attack speed. Problem is that too many people are glued to copying pro builds or doing what their downloaded app says to build that people don't experiment or actually read their spell ratios anymore.
Most people have quite literally no idea what league items do, or how to build anyone. Even after playing for years. Their problem isnt apps or meta - it's lack of knowledge. Apps and this channel encourage off meta - Porofessor even has the off meta builds built in so they get recommended in the in game shop. High elo challengers and pros are the main reason for lack of diversity. They pick 60 champs per year, same every game and never change the game. That is why this sylas and every other master+ off meta player is actually important and you should care more about them. They beat these meta abusing players
anyone can climb to master with sylas. or any champ that has ridiculous heal with not punishment for misplays. my grandma climbed to master with sylas, fiora and aatrox :) she is a top lane main. you can also built him as a tank and still do tons of damage :)
Item winrates are pretty much always wrong as they rely on you actually getting the item. Many games are won/lost before 1 full item is even purchased - so that inflates every items winrate.
I am really surprised that black cleaver isn't a part of the build. it's got the stats, AD Ability Haste and a lot of it and some HP plus the movement speed would be nice from the passive and the armour shred to help you and your team. also on that with manamune abyssal mask could be a good later item with the HP and MR shred plus the healing and from memory some ability haste. on a side note a rlly dumb hybrid damage build that I would say is at least worth looking into was hybrid pen jax. normal runes just you want magic and physical damage so you get Devine, BOTRK, back cleaver and void staff a nashors is also a good pick instead of BOTRK and syrilders grudge idk if I spelt that one right. depending on what you like or what's best. idk if this is still going to work with his mid scope or get worse or better with the no magic on q or ap scaling. my guess is worse. hail of blades I did try out in training and it works as you tend to be quite the bursty boy with 3 items and getting that 3 hit passive damage faster can be nice.
One thing I particularly dislike about commenters is how they say stuff deals AP damage, rather than magic damage. or AD damage, instead of Physical damage. It may have AP or AD scaling, but the damage is different from its scaling
Wouldn't Lethal Tempo also work on this? After all, you're kinda onhit based so attackspeed is usually a good stat and with your passive, you stack it insanely fast and thanks to the high mobility of Sylas, you can easily stick to targets.
all the damage is in the passive proc autos and they are all animation cancels so attack speed is a very useless stat for ad sylas. Once you have gone trough all your cooldowns you dont keep attacking them with autos but kite to use them again

biggest issue honestly, they dislike them because of balancing but their always more fun than the builds they force us into

Manamune Sylas was a thing I think around Season 11 so I'm not surprised that someone will use AD Sylas to climb at some point

Manamune works fine in aram. It delays ur spike too much for ap
That was also in part because of the interaction between Manamune scaling off of mana and Frozen Heart being OP at the time.

Yeah, tiamat can be a good rush too. Overall cleaver is in good state, it can't go wrong

I think part of this just shows how AP bruiser itemisation just doesn’t exist. AP champs need to dip into the AD item pool to get sustain/tankiness
Nashor’s tooth: damage, attack speed
BotRK: damage, attack speed, lifesteal, a slow
You have the riftmaker for sustain and a decent amount of AP items give HP aswell, but ultimately yes those bruiserish items don't really shine.
Also Nashor's tooth scaling with AP means that you can't build too defensive otherwise the value of the on hit goes to waste.
there's 3 good things with this build.
1 - faster wave clear.
2 - more damage full build
3 - tankier
little bit of testing and the full build damage is not more and ap. AP has more health, about same armor, a little less mr but has zhonyas as well as increased w healing. So in conclusion ad sylas might have greater wave clear and that really it. AP has more damage at 3 items (night harvester sorc shadowflame, rabadon) same dmg at 3 items if built zhonyas instead of rabadons, and AP has more damage at full built roughly around 800. All done on a dummy with 80 in each resistance. Done at level 13. This is all just to compare midgame where sylas really shines. so build ap, don't build ad, its really just troll.

@@nuzagreus ap is better damage on ability casts. But ad outdamages him in only 2 seconds of autos. Meaning u can one shot squishies just as before. But also stand a chance against tanks like sion. Which is the main reason sylas players lose games. (Enemy top lane/jgl gets fed)
@@nuzagreus also all ap passives are for damage. Whilst the ad passives are mostly for survivability. Imagine a deaths dance sylas in enemy team just one shotting all of ur bot and mid in seconds then walking up to u while ur sion or sum 💀

so far, pretty fun. only critique, as someone who has only like 70 games of sylas at most. play with a group of people who dont care about your enemy laner going like 12/4/5 lol. (relearning is a hard process,) and people in normal games aren't very happy or nice about this "tech" lol. but over all pretty interesting and fun :D
I could definitely see throwing in a BORK into an otherwise "normal" Sylas build just for more sustained damage and anti-tank damage.

Although I don't play league anymore I will always have love for the fact that you can craft your own meta/build that can synergize very well with the champ you selected. With enough knowledge on the champs and in-game items, give it some time and you can make a brand new way to play league.

Weaving autos is the ideal and you should aim to always do so but you do get a bit of leeway if the circumstances demand it, his passive stacks 3 times.

As a sylas main i used to spam divine onhit sylas build and it was pretty nuts as after getting divine+muramana powerspike u could outdamage whole enemy team while maitaining healthy because of w (that at max rank w/o ap heals for 200 anyways) and divines passive

Just used this in an ARAM- we were gonna be 5 AP so I gave it a go. Absolutely stomped. They were 3 ADC + Blitz + Xin and I went Sunderer-BoRK-Tabi-DDance. Even outduels the Xin somehow.

I knew this was real, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Manamune with this is based, and for truly comical damage rather than more bruiser stats, Ravenous Hydra is great. Spear of Shojin might be overkill but it's definitely not out of the question. The only sadness is that Sylas passive can't crit, IMAGINE if that was possible lmfao.

I’ve try press the attack on sylas ,but you can’t trigger press the attack,so I thought the on hit item won’t work on sylas since his attack is more like an ability. I tried this long ago. I’m not sure whether they change the code to make his auto attack become an auto attack but I’m happy with the result.
Riot should make a Champion that has AD AP Ratio Skills and Passive, 500 Dashes, Infinite Healing, No Mana, Tank, Bruiser, Assasin, Mage, Support, ADC, Jungler

I have played AD sylas ever since his rework. I realized it was the closest to Pre Rework Sylas. My Build is a Tad different with me typically Throwing in a Steraks (I know it sucks, it's just a dope Item). But glad to see someone actually being successful with it LOL.

I played ad sylas some months ago too, i even had a similar build. i started mostly with tear and then got divine into bork into manamune, it was alot of fun tbh, funny to hear somenoe climbed with that build lol..

Looks to me like Player Diff. Good Sylas players can just get away with things normal mortals cannot. A bit like with K'Sante or Riven or Quiyana, where the difference between average player and top player is just that huge.
i would say manamune is kind of a must unless ur always getting kills because presence of mind or always having blue buff
sylas mana issues are disgusting 2/3 mid/long fights and ur out of fuel

With Arena around and silly builds are abound, I want to talk about CRIT Sylas. Sylas's passive was recently changed to be able to be amplified by things like IE as well as benefit from Lifesteal. This allows isn't crazy, however, they also reworked a popular AP item known as Shadowflame to magic crit enemies, which it is also affected by IE. IE + Shadowflame Sylas is hilarious because your passive suddenly deals up to 1k damage per petricite burst. If you happen to be playing Arena there is another AP item for Crits which gives you shields for critting. This is the funniest Slap build in the mode. It can work to a lesser degree in ARAM if you want to try it with something like ER for mana. This pairs VERY well with another Sylas change, which was that PTA works with him now and PTA affects ALL targets which is highly beneficial for his secondary targets on his passive.

i've seen many ad sylas builds pop up on youtube but this one is definitely more thought through and ingenuine than most of the builds if not all of them. One variant to this build that I think would go fully into the frontline bruiser type sylas would be lichbane (for sheen and early AP) into goredrinker into maybe black cleaver, which yes loses AS and the max% damage but you get more health and AH along with a much better sustain tool. This would also mean sylas would focus more on engage ults to serve as a better frontline and not just a full blown killer.
HOB, Nashors -> Nightharvester -> Cosmic Drive -> Rabadons etc etc.
I wonder how this build would look like with spear of shojin.

A friend of mine built divine sunderer, shojin spear, ravenous hidra and botrk in a custom game while i was testing heart steel and he almost oneshot me being a shen full build with 7000 hp

My only concern with this build is that it seems like it is very item dependent. You could probably make it work if your team can play safe and not run it down while you just farm up though.
That goes for every pick, meta or not.
Some teammates will just run it down and not give your pick a chance while chanting, "Pls report off meta for trolling." They're just a self-fulfilling prophecy.

8:40 you are buying percentage max HP damage item against dummy which has insanely unrealistic hp amount, ofc the dmg is higher.
Ravenous should work very well it seems, same as shojin and last cosmic insight for the max cd reduction. I would say cleaver but the armour shred shouldn't be that valuable since you aren't doing physical dmg with the empowered autos but am not sure if it procs off of bork and sunderer. Sweet style overall, tank sylas and tank fizz were my two favourite pics along with tank echo.. too sad that riot decided to make sylas have these disgusting ratios just to remove his tank option which was not even broken tbh....

I als wondered if its at all possible to skip Blade and instead go manamune and Black cleaver for insane cdr but idk if the damage is enough. Also zhonyas somewhere in the build sounds pretty good but I will test all of it haha

ive run sylas with tank / bruiser items and gore drinker. it's good if they've got ad ults that scale and it's a ton of fun to play. i only play aram. sunderer might be fun too for longer fights or into tanks.

I mean, I don't think its surprising any that someone actually did this and went far with it. In a given fight you can get up to 6 procs of your passive without any CD refreshes, and each passive hit is at 130% AD with +125% attack speed.
Problem is that too many people are glued to copying pro builds or doing what their downloaded app says to build that people don't experiment or actually read their spell ratios anymore.
Most people have quite literally no idea what league items do, or how to build anyone. Even after playing for years.
Their problem isnt apps or meta - it's lack of knowledge.
Apps and this channel encourage off meta - Porofessor even has the off meta builds built in so they get recommended in the in game shop.
High elo challengers and pros are the main reason for lack of diversity.
They pick 60 champs per year, same every game and never change the game.
That is why this sylas and every other master+ off meta player is actually important and you should care more about them.
They beat these meta abusing players

anyone can climb to master with sylas. or any champ that has ridiculous heal with not punishment for misplays. my grandma climbed to master with sylas, fiora and aatrox :) she is a top lane main. you can also built him as a tank and still do tons of damage :)

Item winrates are pretty much always wrong as they rely on you actually getting the item. Many games are won/lost before 1 full item is even purchased - so that inflates every items winrate.
I am really surprised that black cleaver isn't a part of the build. it's got the stats, AD Ability Haste and a lot of it and some HP plus the movement speed would be nice from the passive and the armour shred to help you and your team. also on that with manamune abyssal mask could be a good later item with the HP and MR shred plus the healing and from memory some ability haste.
on a side note a rlly dumb hybrid damage build that I would say is at least worth looking into was hybrid pen jax. normal runes just you want magic and physical damage so you get Devine, BOTRK, back cleaver and void staff a nashors is also a good pick instead of BOTRK and syrilders grudge idk if I spelt that one right. depending on what you like or what's best. idk if this is still going to work with his mid scope or get worse or better with the no magic on q or ap scaling. my guess is worse. hail of blades I did try out in training and it works as you tend to be quite the bursty boy with 3 items and getting that 3 hit passive damage faster can be nice.

One thing I particularly dislike about commenters is how they say stuff deals AP damage, rather than magic damage. or AD damage, instead of Physical damage. It may have AP or AD scaling, but the damage is different from its scaling

After all, you're kinda onhit based so attackspeed is usually a good stat and with your passive, you stack it insanely fast and thanks to the high mobility of Sylas, you can easily stick to targets.
all the damage is in the passive proc autos and they are all animation cancels so attack speed is a very useless stat for ad sylas. Once you have gone trough all your cooldowns you dont keep attacking them with autos but kite to use them again
no because like how PTA taric plays you actually don't care about attack speed since you just get free attack speed from your passive
