Adding some context: Zodra is someone I play games with a lot so can tell you for certain - He is not really motivated to play ranked now that he hit Master with Ornn supp and we made the video. He loves the champ and playstyle but is on full autopilot chill mode now, even spending more time doing stuff IRL surprisingly. Glad he spent the time getting back to master FOR US - I dont think he even would have kept playing after durability patch if it were not for us wanting to make this video, so it's not a negative to me that he has stopped, im glad he finally gets a break. ALSO - Not everything has to last forever, its fine to be at your peak and then take time off to chill. Zodra does not need to be #1 Ornn support on leaderboard for the next 100 years to prove he is good. People care too much about that kind of thing when it is unrealistic for every part of life, everything passes. Thanks everyone and Thanks Zodra!
Durability patch was not well executed at all, most of my champions got butchered by it, and overall made most mages feel like garbo (beside viktor... viktor always fine.)

I love soraka and healing, so I was so happy when moonstone came out. I had to try it on every champion. I really loved burn lillia with moonstone haha
I feel like Ornn is quite underrated these days. I think it's because we got used to a meta where games ended REALLY quickly and thus you couldn't make use of his masterwork mechanic, but with things slowing down a bit he feels much better. He's always been a decent support champion, as long as you are paired with an ADC that likely to play aggressively. He plays quite a bit like Leona in that regard.
Orn sp with Senna adc (cc from far away which set Orn Q and E easier to land, Senna give heal and shield from her kits which benefit moonstone which is Orn mythic). Pair this with a Kayle top and vola, we have 2 monster range adc late game with Orn upgrade worth of 1k gold each time he does, on top of that we can have Hecarim (or Nunu for early gank) as jgl so he can camp gank top side so Kayle will scale further into late game lmao. For mid we can have an ap assassin like Leblanc or Fizz (as the main source of ap so enemy team cant counter it without buying resist items which only 1 champ does ap).
@@kyquocthangle4501 Kayle is still so hard to play in this meta, though. Her scaling comes online so late that it's common for games to be decided before she can make a big impact. This isn't to say that playing Kayle with Ornn is a bad choice (just the opposite, in fact), but a lot of solo queue teams just don't know how to play around her properly. She's very hard to carry games with, as a result. Ornn still works great with one of the four horsewomen of top (Riven, Camille, Fiona, Irelia), all of which are generally safer picks.
its funny to remember that he used to be the top of the meta as a DAMAGE CARRY tank when he was released due to his ridiculous amount of damage paired with his perma cc
@@slavchems4759 his dmg isnt crazy, just that his brittle scale with %hp like Lilia passive so you think that it is crazy, he is kinda like Darius where every ability apply passive stack but Orn has 2 brittle abilities, E and ult to cc (his brittle is another minor cc displacement, bring up to a total of 4 hard cc in his kit and a slow Q)

Nilah Ornn seems like one of those high synergy combinations because it can allow the Ornn to spend more time roaming because Nilah’s passive can compensate for when he is out of lane, but it might be rough since neither champs are ranged. It still seems fun
The more you roam the worse Nilah is, and ornn doesnt have early healing or shield so its even worse, only good thing is making ornn reach masterwork levels faster

Also first time I've heard about Glacial Augment slow scaling off of heal+shield power.

Actually I have figured this one out, if you stand in the cubby area closest to that bush hover your ward over the bush bringing your cursor closer to you until your cursor stops being green and you should be able to get the ward every time
With a pixel perfect standing location + Ward click(outside the ward circle) it does work. Very hard to do quickly I think unlike ornn W into wall - which anyone can do imo. Also most important - the normal ward goes in a terrible spot in the bottom of the bush - ornns ward goes in a really useful spot in the middle/top so it spots that chokepoint too.
The minion trick seems cool, if your jungler doesn't immediatly switch into ff15-mode because you didnt help them at red-buff so their clear is 4m15s instead of 4m11s. Sounds fun though I will definitly try it out :)
radiant virtue really makes this shine, I saw that he builds that occasionally. It's great on many tankier top laners being played in the support role. Very fun build.
you can also do this with trundle pillar which arguably splits the wave even MORE cause of the size causing minions to have to go around the entire tower potentially putting a melee minion behind the casters,

It's funny cuz this is what they do in Dota, you body block the melee minions so the ranged minions go in front meaning they die faster and the wave is pushed towards you
@@alex2005z you can't really poke with trundle anyway, he's pretty much an all in champ like amumu and if you have a guaranteed lvl advantage your gonna lvl pillar second anyway for the hard engage to blow all sums or kill them. Typically you wanna save your health until lvl 2/3 when your able to full combo with melee sups so even if you start q you probably won't be able to use it anyway

Ornn really is over powered at the moment. There is basically only two tanks in the game sion and ornn, and it is just because both of them just get so much free stats.

Another great video! There were a surprising number of little tips/tricks with this pick. Minion manipulation, Upgrade resetting item cooldowns (clip at 11:45 was INCREDIBLE), the Orrn ult slow bug and the Vigilant Wardstone ... bug? Honestly cool tips/tricks like those are like little hits of Dopamine. Can't remember if I mentioned it before but I really appreciate the use of the TH-cam Chapters. No other content creator goes nearly as hard.
Edit: For more info about the weird interactions: Vigilant Wardstone The upgraded form of Wardstone has a unique passive: "Unique - Blessing of Ixtal: Increases bonus attack damage, bonus HEALTH, ability power and ability haste by 12%." Ornn's passive also gives 10%-30% bonus Health. After an hour of math and Practice tool, the tl;dr is that Ornn gets compound interest on his bonus HP with the super Wardstone (he gets MORE than (+10-30% Bonus Health) + (+12% bonus health). Here's some math from messing around in practice tool: Watchful Wardstone gives +150HP which becomes +165HP +150 bonus health + 10% (15hp) = +165 health. Vigilant Wardstone gives +150HP+12% HP : +150 bonus Health + +10% (15hp) + 12% (18hp) = 183HP However on Ornn you actually get +185HP. The tooltip for Ornn's passive is the right number (15) but Vigilant Wardstone's tooltip indicates it grants +20HP (not +18 like the math says it should). It turns out, it's a simple 'order of operations' thing: the game calculates the bonus HP from Ornn's passive FIRST, then adds the +12% from Wardstone on top of that. So instead of (additive): (Bonus HP) + (Ornn Passive) + (Wardstone Passive) +150HP + 10% (65HP) + 12% (18HP) (150) + (15) + (18) = 183 Bonus Health You actually get: (Bonus HP AND Ornn Passive) + (Wardstone Passive) +150HP + 10% (65HP) = 165 165 + (165*0.12) = 184.8 (rounded up to 185) Let's Double check our math with Warmogs + Wardstone. Additive: +800 Bonus Health + 150 Bonus Health = +950 Bonus Health +950HP + 10% (95HP) + 12% (114HP) = 1159HP However Warmogs actually grants 1170 bonus health! Again, Ornn's passive tooltip is the right number (95) but Vigilant Wardstone's tooltip is +125HP (not +114) You actually get: +800 Bonus Health + 150 bonus health = +950 health +950 + 10% (95) = 1045 (1045) + (1045*0.12) = 1170.4 Which we see in game.

you can do the same first minion wave trick by auto attacking a caster minion to get aggro and either running away or going into a bush, this moves the wave in a way that makes the enemy wave focus one melee minion resulting in the same outcome.
I have seen very strange player in euw high diamond who plays singed support with jungle item and smite. He goes to the enemy jg and starts steal camps easily quz of his poison and jg item. It's so unusual .. unfortunately I can't remember his nickname :(

it definitly wont get picked, LS would most likely actually be really against it. In proplay supports almost never make it past level 12, so his passive is completly worthless, so not only would it take someone going completely off meta its also way worse for proplay than soloq

@@KattoCraft I don't buy a flask but rush Bami and Warmog for infinite sustain and tons of durabitity. Clear is great, ganking before 6 is decent (QWE combo or just stun with E if possible). Ganking after 6 is wicked. The only disadvantage is that he can't quickly solo kill drakes.
Not sure if it's been patched by now but, while very smart and impressive, that strat with the minion is genuinely way too OP. It breaks laning, and if it hasn't been patched in the 6 months since this video, it absolutely should be.
Game breaking is bit far for a power spike that exactly 1 champion has both the kit to create and capitalise on. You have a semi reliable engage power spike for the length of time that it takes for 1 more of your minions to die. It's notable that vs hook champions, where ornn takes W second, this engage would be far less potent. Certain carries in the bot lane do not want to engage at level 2, particularly ap carries. And if the enemy aggressively lane clears to push level 2 themselves, the opportunity window drastically shrinks. Frankly a bad flash or a missed ability could be far more influential on a game than this.

Yeah, but it has a longer cooldown and costs a ton of mana. And Trundle usually goes the minion share support item which gives no mana regen.

There were a surprising number of little tips/tricks with this pick.
Minion manipulation, Upgrade resetting item cooldowns (clip at 11:45 was INCREDIBLE), the Orrn ult slow bug and the Vigilant Wardstone ... bug?
Honestly cool tips/tricks like those are like little hits of Dopamine.
Can't remember if I mentioned it before but I really appreciate the use of the TH-cam Chapters. No other content creator goes nearly as hard.

Vigilant Wardstone
The upgraded form of Wardstone has a unique passive:
"Unique - Blessing of Ixtal: Increases bonus attack damage, bonus HEALTH, ability power and ability haste by 12%."
Ornn's passive also gives 10%-30% bonus Health.
After an hour of math and Practice tool, the tl;dr is that Ornn gets compound interest on his bonus HP with the super Wardstone (he gets MORE than (+10-30% Bonus Health) + (+12% bonus health).
Here's some math from messing around in practice tool:
Watchful Wardstone gives +150HP which becomes +165HP
+150 bonus health + 10% (15hp)
= +165 health.
Vigilant Wardstone gives +150HP+12% HP :
+150 bonus Health + +10% (15hp) + 12% (18hp)
= 183HP
However on Ornn you actually get +185HP.
The tooltip for Ornn's passive is the right number (15) but Vigilant Wardstone's tooltip indicates it grants +20HP (not +18 like the math says it should).
It turns out, it's a simple 'order of operations' thing: the game calculates the bonus HP from Ornn's passive FIRST, then adds the +12% from Wardstone on top of that.
So instead of (additive):
(Bonus HP) + (Ornn Passive) + (Wardstone Passive)
+150HP + 10% (65HP) + 12% (18HP)
(150) + (15) + (18)
= 183 Bonus Health
You actually get:
(Bonus HP AND Ornn Passive) + (Wardstone Passive)
+150HP + 10% (65HP)
= 165
165 + (165*0.12)
= 184.8 (rounded up to 185)
Let's Double check our math with Warmogs + Wardstone.
Additive:
+800 Bonus Health + 150 Bonus Health = +950 Bonus Health
+950HP + 10% (95HP) + 12% (114HP)
= 1159HP
However Warmogs actually grants 1170 bonus health!
Again, Ornn's passive tooltip is the right number (95) but Vigilant Wardstone's tooltip is +125HP (not +114)
You actually get:
+800 Bonus Health + 150 bonus health = +950 health
+950 + 10% (95) = 1045
(1045) + (1045*0.12)
= 1170.4
Which we see in game.
Just checked it on Anivia:
Just Vigilant Wardstone grants +18hp
Warmogs + Vigilant Wardstone grants +114HP.

you can do the same first minion wave trick by auto attacking a caster minion to get aggro and either running away or going into a bush, this moves the wave in a way that makes the enemy wave focus one melee minion resulting in the same outcome.

I have seen very strange player in euw high diamond who plays singed support with jungle item and smite. He goes to the enemy jg and starts steal camps easily quz of his poison and jg item. It's so unusual .. unfortunately I can't remember his nickname :(

It looks really strong. Think if LS or some pro support who likes to experiment we may see it in proleagues, maybe even Worlds, but I wouldn't count on it
it definitly wont get picked, LS would most likely actually be really against it. In proplay supports almost never make it past level 12, so his passive is completly worthless, so not only would it take someone going completely off meta its also way worse for proplay than soloq

9:20 managed to put this ward for quite some seasons without the need spell clips. but a nother fact, you may sometime fail to position right in the pit if you are in a hurry and don't play ornn.
Just hit masters for the first time in EUW! Using Karthus support! Now ranking #4 in EUW and #16 world on karthus, as a support. Next support player is placed at place 230+! Love playing off meta!

Sorry to tell you, but that wall clip to ward deeper into that bush over dragon wall is doable WITHOUT wall clipping. I do it literally every game at the start.

@@KattoCraft I don't buy a flask but rush Bami and Warmog for infinite sustain and tons of durabitity. Clear is great, ganking before 6 is decent (QWE combo or just stun with E if possible). Ganking after 6 is wicked. The only disadvantage is that he can't quickly solo kill drakes.

Not sure if it's been patched by now but, while very smart and impressive, that strat with the minion is genuinely way too OP. It breaks laning, and if it hasn't been patched in the 6 months since this video, it absolutely should be.

Game breaking is bit far for a power spike that exactly 1 champion has both the kit to create and capitalise on.
You have a semi reliable engage power spike for the length of time that it takes for 1 more of your minions to die.
It's notable that vs hook champions, where ornn takes W second, this engage would be far less potent.
Certain carries in the bot lane do not want to engage at level 2, particularly ap carries.
And if the enemy aggressively lane clears to push level 2 themselves, the opportunity window drastically shrinks.
Frankly a bad flash or a missed ability could be far more influential on a game than this.
