13:18 for the discussion on battle lines.
Can't recall what I had for breakfast, but I remembered listening to Critical talk about battle lines on a Nepal map. Memory is a weird thing.

Dang it, I had a whole comment noting specific points you brought up and thanking you for them, then I accidently clicked on the 'next video suggestion' when i meant to pause at the end, lol.
A couple things I had said, the first junk trap I actually saw and carefully avoiding until I felt that specific engagement was over, so I actual had a rare instance of seeing the junk trap there. All the others, you were preretty much on point. I'm not very good at discerning junk traps. For some reason I just don't see them a lot of the time. And I actually laughed that time he caught me and did nothing because I'm just staring up at him like 'okaaaaayy...you gonna kill me yet?' Definitely something to work on, and when i DO see them, I need to ping them better.
I'd never thought of it as a 'battle line', so I will work to incorporate that. I've been working on being out in the open less already, but I clearly have a long way to go, and keeping the battle line in mind will help a to supplement that mentality. Thank-you very much! (and I'll keep the advice from Awkward in mind, but I don't watch his content specifically because he engages in unranked to GM content). I usually play more reserved and was particularly aggressive this game, but I still definitely need to hear that advice so I can use it better going forward, because even in my less agressive games, I know I am still lacking in awareness of the battle line, so I really think it will help me there.
Coal. Keeping in mind what you said, I see what you mean. I used to hold it for a long time, but I actually heard from you once (I think when you were talking to someone on reddit?) not to just hold it, and I perhaps overcompensated, lol. I've gotten in the mindset of 'even a slight advantage, use it'. I will work on fixing this and using it more purposefully and with clear intent. And I originally said in my accidently deleted comment that I will be more choosy on when I use it as a saving mechanism, but then three minutes later in the vid you specified NOT to use it that way, so I will keep that in the forefront of my mind now as well.
Lastly, just an overall thank-you. I had an impression that how 'well' I did felt artificial, that I was getting away with things I shouldn't be. I think I even said to my wife that I shouldn't be able to get away with a couple of those plays. I think I ended up being more aggressive as I realized that, and of course it cost me. I specifically didn't share the overall stats for the game when I made my reddit post because I didn't want anyone there saying 'great job' based on the stats, which showed me getting the highest elims in the lobby this game, which we both know isn't the most reliable way to say how good you did in a game. This is something you said in yout Hog video I was watching earlier today. (You also spoke about positioning alot there as well, so watching this right after is reinforcing several of your points really well) And I really like the line about 'they can't hit you, wait until you get into a rank where they can'. I'm pretty sure this and positioning are a large part of why I dropped and kept dropping from my prior masters rank, and why the reset dropped me all the way from diamond to plat.
So thank-you. I'm going to work on the things you said and try to avoid bad habits that I've developed. Thanks for taking the time. Hopefully in a couple months or so I'll be able to send you a new vid from a higher rank and I can keep climbing. GGs.

You can use Coalescence as soon as you get a slight advantage, but trying to beam down the enemy Tank isn't adding value. Shift your target priority to someone you can more easily pressure.
Being aggressive is fine in the right setting, but it has nothing to do with being out of position. Aggression still requires cover and planning!
