Twisted Metal - the name conjures images of Minion and Sweetooth. It brings to mind cities destroyed by a travelling carnival of auto mayhem. 22 years later, Twisted Metal Black is considered to be one of the best entries in the series.

Another tip for beginners:
This game seems really fast when you first play. You tend to have a tough time controlling your vehicle, keeping track of opponents, dodging attacks, and lining up your own shots while doing all this.
Try using one of the characters with a lower speed. Even if you plan on using a speedy character, using a slow character at first can help you get a grasp of the fundamental aspects of the game without getting overwhelmed and losing interest.
My personal recommendation for new players is the character/vehicle Junkyard Dog, the tow truck. He has high armor and a low speed, which can make it easier to control what you are doing. Not only that, his special weapon is easy to use and has a large AoE, making it simple to hit opponents. Very straightforward and solid character, great for beginners.

That is a good tip. It is a naturally fast paced game, so a slower character at first is probably the best way to go. Don't pick Specter or Grimm if you are starting out. :)
