On this video i show you how i restored this Retro Console Playstation one.
I bought this console on Ebay for $50, inside the box was a lots of games cables 2 controlers and a yellowed console.

As someone who has a PS1 at home, that is fully functional, and doesn't look nearly as yellow, this made me happy to watch this beauty being restored to glory 💜

I still own this one. It's pristine. About 50 games too. This was very well done. Amazing work.
My mom owned one and she gave it to me, but we can’t find the games. I also have a ps2 that works and has the first 3d gta game so that’s cool.

Yeah and a bunch of the ps1 games are very expensive now adays to get them in good condition and complete case. Lucky I still have most of my ps1 games.
Fascinating video, excellent work, and so satisfying to watch, but you know what impresses me the most about this? You value quiet, natural sound, and just let us listen to the sounds of you working, rather than pumping in music for the sake of it, and to 'liven it up'. I hugely appreciate your 'sound sense' in this video!

It’s actually a lot easier doing it then watch it. Seeing as you’re actually involved in taking it apart your brain just remember especially for older systems. I recently started doing this stuff for fun and now I can take apart my laptop and put it back to together, it’s just a matter of doing it yourself and see if you truly can!

Oh man I traded my brand new console for this launch console cause it was the only one you could mod at the time. Best decision ever as it still runs to this day. And now I feel confident I can restore if I ever need to. Thank you for this video.

The technique is called "retro-brite", if you want to look up more information about it.

But I‘m a 100% fan of old consoles and gaming in general! Speaking of old consoles… I have an (actually I have two^^) N64, many cassettes, controllers and stuff and I‘m still using it… more or less due to some crashes. Just to keep the wear and tear down, as well as to support the case so it doesn't just strip out that one screw, remember to get more screws to fit in the outside casing holes. Trust me, I had one that was riding on one screw for a while because someone lost them during a repair (not me) and it basically broke in half one day when I picked it up. Nice job on the restoration!
25 years old man I am now, this was a big system in its day. When I was three my bro use to play spyro, crash, and gex, tombraider, grand turismo.
Really miss my ps1, gave to my friends since my brother and me sharing money for ps2. Ps2 is no more either, great memory and great game. 🥰

It's amazing how you can reverse the process of yellowing with a bit of chemistry knowledge.
