Tv show , possible sequel game for ps5 in the works and the first two just hit ps5 on the premium sub. I’d say twisted metal is keeping twisted metal alive .
Since Tower Tooth is canonically driven by both Marcus and Needles Kane, i like to think that the broken AI is just them fighting over who's in the driver's seat
They should've made construction trucks a boss fight in one of the games, no, auger, Mr slam and crusher don't count as construction trucks, I'm talking about actual construction trucks like bulldozers and excavators and steam rollers n shit, a giant tractor or a hot air balloon would be a cool boss fight too
The Tower Tooth boss fight is a bit different in the PSP version. He has a extra attack were he shoots a bunch of homing Sweet Tooth heads from his head. It is by far the most powerful attack. I have no idea why it isn't in the PS2 version.
It's not? I guess that explains why he's such a cheeseable boss in the PS2 version.. this might be a bit of a stretch to say, but I would honestly believe that the barrage attack you're describing is supposed to be some sort of preventative "anti-camping" measure, since it had to have been intentional for the boss to not be able to reach the elevated areas in the arena, at least by normal means.
there's actually a few things missing from the ps2 version. like darktooths sound for their special. my guess is needed space for the other stuff that was on the game since it's a three in one disc. if you count the third person roaming a game.
@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 Neither handheld consoles of Sony (either the PSP or the PsVita) could play PS3 games with the same capabilities of the PS3. Not even the Vita. (The Vita had ports of PS3 games and vice-versa, but it was visually downgraded ports (PS3 > Vita) or visually upgraded ports (Vita > PS3) with typically cross-saves features. And the PSP was weaker than a PS2. And typically the ports from the PSP to the PS2 had visual upgrades (In regards to the good ports anyways. That took advantage of the more powerful platform of course. Not all ports are always well made sadly). If the extra Tower Tooth attack on the PSP version did indeed exist and they indeed removed that attack from one version to another when porting it...then the most plausible reason is probably for balancing purposes I presume. Whether if it was worth doing so and needed to be balanced that way, that's certainly up for debate. But often, when that kind of port is made, there's some stuff like that that some developers just make decisions on. As for the allegedly missing/changed SFX for Dark Tooth's special weapon the other person mentioned, that's certainly not a space issue even if the PS2 version had a lot of stuff on it. A simple SFX audio file takes marginal amount of space on something like a PS2 game DVD. My suspicion is either something that somehow got "lost in translation" when doing the port. Or it was an audio bug maybe. I know my copy I have on PS2 (even if I purchased it brand new back in the day and is still mint clean) had a ton of audio bug issues for some reason. Audio SFX not playing sometimes, and most often, the BGM would stop playing for the rest of a playthrough until I rebooted the PS2 or, oddly enough, if I went in Sweet Tour mode and played the intro it would make the BGM come back on until it bugged out again lol. I looked online back then and I remember people mentioning they had similar audio issues and different ones.
War Hawk is an amazing battle. I can't believe they were planned to be playable far into development, having a driver select screen along with a driver transition.
@@AnthonyKusanagi101 I think all the twisted metal fight sucks ! they should just leave you shoot cars and get the wish with Calysto after you complete the last tournament those boss fights are shit ! And why tha fuk... you have boss fights with a single enemy in something that is like a destruction derby with weapons so stupid oh you win against the other drivers now you need to fight that big clown car with infinite rockets duh , its like you participate in a race win against every competitor and the guy say that to win the prize you need to have a race with another person with a better car whats the point it takes the seriousness that everyone love in the series...
@@zero1zerolast393 In this case though it was confirmed by the developers, Warhawk didn’t make the final cut because the levels weren’t fit for them and there wasn’t any time to adjust them to account for the helicopter.
The RC car and buggy are fun to play as For boss fights they buggy is not bad Sweet tooth in 4 isn’t broken as a boss his specials are difficult to avoid but it’s not fake breaking
I’m sad to see Iron Maiden’s fight handled so badly because the design is awesome!! The metal hair and blank doll face and the various attacks. I feel like the boss could have been the best boss in the series if it wasn’t handled so badly
Having the bosses be these huge setpieces instead of just beefed-up drivers felt like a natural evolution for this series. Just sucks that said „evolution“ was… a _bit_ shaky. If/once Twisted Metal comes back, I hope the game’ll have a combination of both buffed-up drivers as bosses, and these larger encounters as well. Kind of like the modern Armored Core games
@@MrDark086 The problem with TMB is the complete lack of cutscenes. If you're outside of NA, you get absolutely zero storyline and zero context about what is happening.
Warhawk gave me the feeling that I was being hunted for sport. If I left cover I would face constatnt bombardment, and if I didn't leave cover he would fly around to the open end and start shooting me. He also rammed me off the roof a few times. Now deal with all this why trying to set up those tanker trucks to destroy his shield. Good luck.
Just wanted to say I absolutely love your TM content. Another cool idea for a TM video might be character designs worst to best, especially for the longstanding characters like Warthog, Mr. Grimm, Sweet Tooth and Calypso (the big 4 who have been in every TM game to date).
I personally LOVED the bigger maps, mainly because it added to the suspense of knowing that somewhere on that big map is a random boss you have no idea about trying to hunt you down...
Twisted metal 4 was personally my favorite I loved the minion fight The message that minion had arrived and frantically driving through his maze and that moment you finally find him was always tense. Had me on the edge of my seat has a 12 year old
Same. I felt like a person getting hunted by the minotaur in a labyrinth. I was always split between "should I find him or let him come to me?" Utilizing the secret passages really helps cut down the travel time as well in the maze which I feel definitely makes it feel smaller and more frantic when utilized. That's one thing I loved about TM4: every level has something special/unique/secret and I'd spend so much time trying to find it
@@DrDipsh1t Totally agree, TM4 is super underrated. The level secrets, thematic bosses, and the fact that it has a wider vehicle roster than any other game in the series PLUS the ability to customise your OWN CAR!
Personally I didn't like TM4 but I think that's because I played 1, 2 and 3 when they came out and by the fourth I think my friends and I had gotten tired of it. Plus the art, levels tone and presentation of the game was just "meh" compared to the previous entries. So with that said I don't think my friends and I gave it a fair shake.
same. I have 2 copies of only that game. I also almost burnt out my friends from playing it so damn much. When you loose any boss in 4 they go for a health pickup so just remember where you were and what health pickup is nearby. Also sweet tooth is so easy, he follows you so just place mines and remotes and its over in like 2 minutes. You can fatal funnel him on the rollercoaster.
I love TM4 for absolute crazy dynamic and more balanced energy system. I think TM4 gameplay more fast than in any other TM game. I don't like TM4 only because thats game is not have Twister (i love her special in TM2), not too usable jump energy command (L1 + R1 like in Rogue Trip is perfect input for it) and a some balance troubles.
I still remember that first time I got to the end of TM 1... Minion wrecked my ass so hard. We lived in the boonies and the nearest store that carried the game was like half an hour away. we lived right between my brother's school and his girlfriend's place... so I gave him money and he dropped the game off on his way back through. I got up 2 hours early just to play the actual game before school, because we'd gotten our fill thus far on the TM1 demo on the playstation demo discs... and I wanted to see the actual game. Having that practice helped, but I still remember how fulfilling it was, even staring at that game over screen and seeing sunlight outside... GOOD MEMORIES MAN, they'll save your life.
After watching some of your videos im starting to want twisted metal to make a comeback again. I havent played them since black. I had only played one, two, and black. I remember my mom getting the first game for me for christmas when it came out for ps1 thinking it was would be like mario kart. She was less than thrilled when she saw it the first time.
Great video as always! I’m excited for the special weapon ranking video. Other ranking video ideas could be to rank the game’s soundtracks (level themes, menu themes, etc.)
Aww i was expecting you to talk about how One of the Brothers Grimm is named "Hammerhead" which means that Hammerhead could've been in the game if they just scaled the character down to about Warthogs size and gave him an alternate special along with the Shockwave Special
I'm passionate about twisted metal and I would like to give my opinion on certain listings while I watch it. The only game I haven't played being Small Brawl. Number 24: Not sure if TBP knew but you're able to aim upwards during the iron maiden fight so you're able to use more weapons against her. She was a pain for me to Gold Rank on Twisted Difficulty for me. Number 23: You're able to cheese Sweet Tooth by using the only portal on the map and putting 3 proximity mines where it teleports you. Number 18: Twisted Metal 3 was the first I've played and I find Minion being placed low is understandable but needs to be touched on at a higher difficulty. Number 12: I liked Primeval in Twisted Metal 3, it was a difficult fight, BUT. Growing up with Twisted Metal 3 and with a brother that played more than I did before me meant my brother taught me a trick to beat Primeval. With Thumper you're able to use your special which isn't a flamethrower but a weird wave to push Primeval into that pit with arrows leading to a deathbox that I mentioned on Number 23. Number 4: Twisted Metal Black isn't easy to beat, Minion's Fight is a pain to beat because the way the ai functions during it. Not saying the ai is bad but when it comes to trying to destroy the last panel, Minion makes it difficult by just spinning around a bit making your window of opportunity fairly small. Number 3: Cousin Eddy is easy to beat. The concept that TBP mentioned of dispatching Rednecks then proceeding to blowing up the trailer makes me chuckle. I feel Cousin Eddy doesn't deserve this spot because it's replacing Minion from Black specifically. Looking at Twisted Metal Head On, I feel Minion making an appearance as a boss would make the atmosphere darker but the atmosphere of Twisted Metal is supposed to be just that, Dark. Number 1: I love the concept of Warhawk as a boss in Twisted Metal Black but the difficulty of black makes this fight a nightmare. I don't remember a time in recent memory that I've beaten Warhawk mostly because I stopped playing solely because of difficulty. My brother hasn't even gotten close to beating Warhawk's fight.
Great video as always Bacon! But I wanted to point out something I felt was odd at 10:48 you mentioned that a commentor on one of your videos said they were a dev on the game and gave that information for the boss fight? Why not show that comment or at least say who they are so we could go show them some support on their channel as well. Just a thought!
That user's name was @goodrichgames1308 (the account of David Goodrich, who was the lead designer of Small Brawl and Black Online), thankfully his comment is pretty high up on that video so you won't have trouble finding it.
27:56 It is rare but he can drive in the tunnels. Thinking you're safe just to have it whip round the corner when you thought it to be an impossibility is truly a moment of sheer terror, haha.
Seeing Cousin Eddie so high on the list was a nice surprise for me since I played a ton of Head-On back in high school and I remember playing through the game just to get another shot at time because he was so fun. I did it so many times that after a while I was able to shred Cousin Eddie in no time flat with just about every character, although the game would usually get it's revenge in Tower Tooth
This was great and to go along with the specials attack ranking might i suggest best vehicles for each game. The vehicles that benefit the most to each iteration of twisted metal.
Glad to see TM black Minion in top 5, sad to see Cousin Eddy a notch higher but...I guess it is slightly better gameplay wise, and definitely did not expect Warhawk in number one. I don't hate him but I still have bad memories from trying to fight that him out of cover and then getting tossed off the building multiple times by his front spikes. It kind of haunts me but the points you bring are respectable.
I can kinda appreciate the simplicity of Minion's theme as a boss fight: He's an opponent who's simply driving an actual military combat vehicle in a derby mostly made up of weaponized cars and trucks. He outguns you in most surface level ways so you just have to play better to make up the difference. It's probably why he suffers most in the more mechanically challenged entries of the series.
The thing is the Sweet Tooth fight in 4 can be easily cheesed with prox. mines placed on the teleporter exit. 2 or 3 in the right spot launches him to a killzone everything. Also a nice little glitch happens when you're caught in Crusher's/ Super Slam's special and activate Super Auger's power.
Iron maiden boss fight is by far the most annoying thing ever lol. I went through and got the twisted difficulty gold metals on all missions and that one had me wanting to rip all of my hair out. It is so horribly put together. I'd be accepting if the missiles actually hit the boss consistently.
The 2012 slander hurts my soul, especially seeing the Black favoritism! I think I played the beta a lot and the game mechanics are only odd if you actually never got used the meta, so Iron Maiden first phase was never an Issue. My main was never tanky cars, so the ring of death is not an issue I faced too much. I agree that last phase was a pain! I was on Reaper on the last thread that fight, but it was tense and great fun, but I'm vindicated knowing I'm not the only one who had that crash! Sweet Tooth Carnival deserves slander, I'll go back to the the bosses before touching that monster. Brother Grim I love as a fight and I love using my assistant in the fight, however I can understand you not liking the "cute" stuff but for me it shows me something that too me other bosses couldn't do before hand. which was tell a story with the fight and show the mind set of the person you were going to control next(Which why I like Carnival least too.) Having the Icon characters taunt you, hearing their convictions to win, or seeing how *Twisted* your character is during the fight. I have fond memories in Brother grim fight after the assistant set the bomb, I made a B-line to save his ass, just to have Sweet Tooth's mania kicked in and wanted to see blood. My 12 year old head was so shocked, "We been with this guy since the beginning how you going to do this!?" with a heavy heart I did it. The Iron Maiden fight was another thing, it made me want to win that fight more. It was me Vs. That bitch that held me back from seeing Grim's dream come to fruition. It gave me a chance to give a man a W he needs(I should've known better), and take out that egotistical bitch out of her misery. TLDR; The story surrounding the bosses and how it was set up puts them above the others, could argue black has something similar..... but it doesn't really work...
What driver or car from Twisted Metal 3 and or 4 would you like to see make a return? Maybe you could make it a mini-tierlist for determining which has the most potential to be included in a future game.
if i can interject here, i would love to see crimson fury and grasshopper return. as well as blacks variant of darkside. i loved playing those three. great for hit and run tactics.
These Twisted Metal rankings give me life 🙏 As much as Warhawk is a nightmare to face sometimes, I gotta agree - He feels like the perfect subversive boss fight in one of the best Twisted Metal games with unique concepts and a great thematic style, playing into that 'trapped / pinned down cat and mouse' style of car vs helicopter. I adore the Minion fight from Black tho, probably my favorite in the series; the theme alone is incredible.

You can cheese minion in twisted metal 1 on rooftop. There's a spot on rooftop where you can jump off the roof with a jump pad, and survive. And if you pick specter his missiles go through the level and hits minion... so you can literally sit there and shoot those wait for them to come back shoot them etc until he's dead. You can cheese the entirety of rooftop doing this. My friend and I found this by accident screwing around one night trying every part of rooftop to see if there's anywhere you can survive. Be careful when you're down there though, if you go too far into the background you eventually will suddenly die.
Got to say you brought the love for Twisted Metal back to my heart. I know this idea for a ranked Twisted Metal video might seem weird but kinda thought would be neat to hear. Every Twisted Metal character’s names ranked, the games do have so many characters and names alone make fans react. Case in point, Grasshopper.
I don't even really play Twisted Metal but I find the franchise so interesting and love watching videos about it, so this channel is a Gold Mine I'm happy TH-cam recently recommended to me.
While I agree with Iron Maiden being the worst, you can make it a bit easier by looking up. The missiles actually go the direction the camera is looking.
I’ve always wondered what Charlie Kane actually looks like as the driver of Dark Tooth. Like, does he look the same but with a different outfit? Or does he look all demonic after drinking that potion? He’s a really wasted character. I really wish we got to see his relationship with his son Needles.
Prior to driving Dark Tooth, it could be a bit awkward since his son is a killer, might not be a good discussion for the dinner table in the Kane household. And with Dark Tooth, they’re both insane, so given the circumstances, he might just become some sort of deranged helicopter parent that would flatline anyone who’d try to take Needles away, though i don’t think Needles himself would care regardless, he’d just try and run away again, something happened that made him run from his dad, and it was never properly explained. Maybe it was abuse? Neglect? Feeling controlled? In Yellow Jacket’s ending, while it’s text, Charlie seems remorseful, and gets depressed when he finds out. The Molotovs seem to hint at him being a heavy drinker to the point his liver failed. Perhaps it’s just coincidence.
@@darktooth4576 No see that’s my point, it could add a level of nuance to Needles if we had a Twisted Metal with a proper story mode that explored his backstory a bit. Maybe have the good guys interact Charlie thinking he’s just another ally, but later they’ll find out who his son is and he’ll tell them what happened that made Needles into a psychopathic clown. Maybe in this version he could take the potion because its the only way to beat Needles, becoming Calypso’s slave in the process.
@@insectostrich4407Well, the thing is that Sweet Tooth in the games with Charlie is a killer, but he's also just crazy and childlike. I'd imagine Charlie's Sweet Tooth would be like "Daddy! Let's go fishing!" and then the two of them would fish in a swamp for alligators or something. Or, Charlie might be just as crazy as Sweet Tooth.
I always cheesed Minion in TM2. I blasted a door off of the temple and just parked inside. Minion wasn't accurate enough to shoot through the door and I had a little cone of death.
Either that, or that underground Tunnel. For some odd reason, he never bothered me in there too much. When he drove by I would peek out from the opening and let him have it with whatever I had on hand 😂
So glad you're giving some props to Small Brawl. Even with the tonal shift it's a fun game to play. Probably the 3rd most TM game we played as kids behind 2 and 4.
I just realized there hasn't been a boss that's just an armored, cash truck. I feel like it'd be obvious for someone to grab a cash truck to cheese other contestants.
Back when I knew how to play this game The hardest combo was the reverse freeze combo attack followed by a reverse attack of what ever the boss hum v with the 3-6 missiles I probably only had a 40-60% chance to pull it off in tm2
Enjoyed the list and video. An inherent obstacle with long lists is the number of transitions. I would've been happier with fewer transitions, maybe limited between tiers. Just a thought/suggestion
Unpopular opinion, but 3 is my personal favorite in the series. The crazy way the vehicles handle made for a lot of laughs in co-op play. Also, Club Kid on max difficulty setting down a few dozen traps at once was hilarious. Really miss this one.
Great video and I knew Warhawk would place high, at least. Did you know that in the European version of Twisted Metal Black, all the cut scenes were removed? If you wanted to watch them, you had to go online to places like TH-cam.
You can literally kill most TM4 bosses by spawn-trapping them by dropping three proximity mines on top of each other after driving into a teleporter and not moving, driving away, then watching them fly out of bounds after taking the bait, including Sweet Tooth.
This gave me the idea of a new Twisted Metal game having a train boss in a railyard level, to be different and sequential but not remove car combat. Plus, it would just make an environmental hazard (trains passing through and smashing into the racers) into a boss fight. Not sure what the theming would be, or how hard it should be. But it would be way better than the 2012 second and third bosses... those are just bizarre
Man small brawl was a good game, but piecemeal was a HUGE disappointment. On top of that,if u destroy the stage(which usually you do),he falls right where the health spawns. One of them. You have to babysit the health to make sure the fight doesn't drag out even longer
I would almost say Dark Tooth from Head On is the worst. It’s over in 2 seconds. I Also think Warhawk is mid tier at best since some cars can’t even use their special on him. I like the ranking all specials video, might be tough to make though.
I remember them touting the fuck out of the Iron Maiden boss fight in Game Informer interviews, and in execution it's like "it's the worst kind of overkill".
One minor correction about the Minion boss fight in TM2. Minion's special attack is actually a combo of fire missiles and homing missiles and freeze attack which is why it is so powerful. Its my fav attack of the entire series and I loved that boss fight as much as I loved that game. Peak Twisted Metal.
The ironic part about the Iron Maiden fight is that it was heavily used in advertising as one of the selling points for the game. She even appeared as a stage hazard in Playstation All Stars.
I have to respectfully disagree with a few of your points here. Firstly though, thanks for the video, it must have taken a long time to put together. • Iron Maiden was WAY better than Warhawk (hear me out) - more interesting arena, more unique boss (who is actually INVOLVED in the story beyond a single 5-second cutscene). You criticised Iron Maiden for the nuke mechanic and for her flying high up, yet Warhawk has almost EXACTLY the same mechanics yet you never made the same criticisms there. • You criticised some arenas for being bland, yet Warhawk's arena is arguably the blandest arena in the entire series. • What you said at 34:58 is factually wrong. The tankers are NOT required to take down the shield, they just accelerate the process. • Minion TMB & Cousin Eddie are AWFUL bosses in my opinion - having to faff about driving around them to find the perfect angle is tedious and frustrating. Especially Minion TMB, where the game doesn't even communicate that that's what you're supposed to do. • I felt like you were WAY too harsh on some of the TM4 bosses, like Sweet Tooth. Your criticism basically boiled down to "he's too strong" - well yeah, he's the final boss, he's supposed to be strong!! His carnival level is AMAZING, and he requires actual tactics & game knowledge to take down. • Finally, I think criticising a boss because of a bug / glitch is unfair. For example, Primeval TM3 can be one-shot using an easy bug, but that doesn't make him a bad boss. I really enjoy your rankings videos, I would just like you to be more consistent in your criticisms and try not to judge everything too harshly. Thanks! :)
Never understood the hate for Twisted Metal 3. I loved it's more rubbery and weighty physics compared to the usual boxy feeling one of Twisted Metal. It also had tire marks being left on the ground which was really cool so when a special would knock you back you left a long line on the ground. Its boss fights are also realistic, in that, you are fighting another car that is reasonable size, instead of some building. Primeval is an awesome boss with a great special that is more powerful than anything else but is not too overpowered. Levels are great, weapons are reasonable. Twisted Metal 3 is probably my favorite in the series. Twisted Metal 4 on the other hand was a complete disappointment
The difference is that in Twisted Metal 3 it was necessary to play with quality, a minimum error and you lose. Obviously you have to play it on the maximum difficulty. The maps are excellent, the theme, the right amount of weapons and above all the characteristics that differentiate one character from another.
Super Axel when timed right will knock you out of the arena with his special. That was pretty sick to see. I also had minion as my ally and watched him beat minion that way while watching from the top of the totem tower. I actually liked watching my ally die to that lol.
I love the idea of the fight against Iron Maiden. Is like you said, a really COOL idea... but the execution was not the best. To me, there was a way to keep the entire idea, but changing a few things. PHASE 1 - Nuke: Keep the same, but is instant (or a least WAY faster) to trhow the Doll Girl into the grinder. Then, in the guiding missile part, make more linear. The missile now follows a straight path to the doll and the attacks Iron Maiden throws follows a more straight path. The way to dodge is more confortable, being able to turn to the sides way easier, then is just hit and repeat two more times. Also, let's say the truck is destroyed and another is deployed somewhere else. This being stationary. Then, this one is destroyed and the third truck is moving, which will be less of a pain since now throwing the girl inside is instant (or at least faster). PHASE 2 - Fighting: Same as before, NOW is your turn to fight her, we can keep as it is, since is a real challenge by itself... but then... PHASE 2 PART 2 - REAL Fight: BAM! Your Grimm bors come in clutch, managing to steal the Dolls ride. Now, you have the JUDGERNAUT to fight her, so you just drive inside and you have this monster to help you. Also, I don't know how good or powerfull the truck is, but let's say it cfan receive a buff for this fight... also, also, NO BS of having to stick near Iron Maiden or you die. ALternatively: instead your bois for the Grimm Gang can bring one of the Brother's Grimm truck. PHASE 3 - Highway: As the robot is hanging from the highway, I believe activating the circle that self destroys you, if you are far away is fair. For this part. Anyway, I think keeping this Phase the same is ok. PHASE 4 - Head: I think keeping the same way is ok... alternatively, I also though that this part becoming a on rail shooter could be neat. Now you on the Meat Grinder machine gun from the Judgernaut shooting the flying head while someone else drives the truck. I think this could be a neat wa to improve this fight, while keeping the general idea ^^
Never played the 2012 TM, but I am glad after that first entry. I truly hope if they give us another Twisted Metal game that it is like a GOOD version of Twisted Metal 3. Still has car on car combat, a story mode, just a bunch more cars and weapons with better graphics and handling. Would also like to see a Battle Royal mode online, but keep it all simple.
2012 is actually one of the best ones Ignoring the 3 campaigns only It is one of the best games and all the bosses are fun Dunno why he had so much trouble with Iron Maiden, I got a Gold medal on the hardest difficulty first try
Twisted Metal 4 was probably my most played of the games. Used to rent a Playstation and the game on weekends from time to time. Also enjoyed Small Brawl. Sure can't wait for TBP to get their hands on the upcoming "Twisted Metal" TV show this July.
I just now noticed after all these years that Cousin Eddy is a reference to the National Lampoon Christmas Vacation / Vegas Vacation character. lol. He also drives a vehicle similar to the one in Twisted Metal.
I will never forget the original Darktooth fight. Me and my sister finally beat the campaign. We didn’t read the text on screen so we didn’t know it was a two stage boss. I remember us both saying what is that? As the head came bouncing down the road and killed my sister before we knew what was going on. I managed to finish the fight but still a good memory.
You have to remember that an iron maiden is a sadistic torture device as well, making it a fitting name for that battle.
@terreausore2435 "was a historically alleged torture device" Corrected it for you
And in Black Dollface's ending involved her slamming her boss into an iron maiden, and I think that's why they made this her battle

@@darkstorm_omega It's still immensely cheesable in the PSP version, it's just every once in awhile he'll end up getting one or two hits in
War Hawk is an amazing battle. I can't believe they were planned to be playable far into development, having a driver select screen along with a driver transition.
Eh it was an ok battle. Minion from TM2 did it better
That might not be the case. One thing I learned from Fallout Cut Content, that a lot of things are not always as they seem.
@@zero1zerolast393 In this case though it was confirmed by the developers, Warhawk didn’t make the final cut because the levels weren’t fit for them and there wasn’t any time to adjust them to account for the helicopter.
The RC car and buggy are fun to play as
For boss fights they buggy is not bad
Sweet tooth in 4 isn’t broken as a boss his specials are difficult to avoid but it’s not fake breaking
0:34 You say "24" just as you deliver 24 Fire Missile damage. This is either slick as all hell or very well edited. Kudos
I got a university of Phoenix ad exactly when it said "next level is Arizona 3000 B.C." on the screen
I’m sad to see Iron Maiden’s fight handled so badly because the design is awesome!! The metal hair and blank doll face and the various attacks. I feel like the boss could have been the best boss in the series if it wasn’t handled so badly
I actually liked the Iron Maiden boos fight. And the Carnival, felt like taking the ridiculous concepts of vehicle combat taken to its extremes.
def the worst fight tho, shits so bad
Having the bosses be these huge setpieces instead of just beefed-up drivers felt like a natural evolution for this series. Just sucks that said „evolution“ was… a _bit_ shaky.
If/once Twisted Metal comes back, I hope the game’ll have a combination of both buffed-up drivers as bosses, and these larger encounters as well. Kind of like the modern Armored Core games
Thank you TBP for introducing me to twisted metal. I've been emulating twisted metal:Black. It's hard but also a blast!
Woo! Good luck out there!
Try crazy 8 and his secret abilities. Hes my best
Blacks probably my personal favorite from the series. Don't forget to unlock the secret characters!
@@MrDark086 The problem with TMB is the complete lack of cutscenes. If you're outside of NA, you get absolutely zero storyline and zero context about what is happening.
@@LEWIS1992 really? I didn know theyd stripped the cutscenes in non NA versions
Twisted metal 4 was personally my favorite
I loved the minion fight
The message that minion had arrived and frantically driving through his maze and that moment you finally find him was always tense.
Minion in Twisted Metal 2 will always be my #1 boss, but Warhawk is definitely right next to him. Good video.
All the playable vehicles from worst to best?
Glad to know someone enjoys small brawl as much as me. Wanted that sweet tooth RC car when it was produced lol.
I played 4 the most, and it's kinda painful seeing all my memories end up so low on the list...
Agree
That user's name was @goodrichgames1308 (the account of David Goodrich, who was the lead designer of Small Brawl and Black Online), thankfully his comment is pretty high up on that video so you won't have trouble finding it.
@@jamesesterline legend!
I was really hoping that you made this video for a while now so thank you
It's crazy to me that after all these years I still remember the minion special attack code from twisted metal 2.
Just got on break and needed something to watch . 🔥💜💪🏿
You concisely took every complaint I had with iron madien in a neat package. Love your vids
You're in violation of Midtown City Code 4432! Step out of your vehicle and surrender peacefully! ...times up!
Hey, I was the guy who suggested doing all of the bosses. Who've thought this would actually happen?
The thing is the Sweet Tooth fight in 4 can be easily cheesed with prox. mines placed on the teleporter exit. 2 or 3 in the right spot launches him to a killzone everything. Also a nice little glitch happens when you're caught in Crusher's/ Super Slam's special and activate Super Auger's power.
Pretty good picks for the top 10. Really happy to see Minion from Black in the top 5, he's my favorite boss in the series.
Something I love about Warhawk is that his arena's theme is a remix of Amazonia's theme from Twisted Metal 2.
Nothing makes you crap you pants like Warhawk trying to ram you off the roof on your last life.
@@Atma_Weapon They're not from 3 and 4.
12:25 what’s funny is there’s also a reccuring boss named Darkside in the Kingdom Hearts series and your description is still apt there
These Twisted Metal rankings give me life 🙏 As much as Warhawk is a nightmare to face sometimes, I gotta agree - He feels like the perfect subversive boss fight in one of the best Twisted Metal games with unique concepts and a great thematic style, playing into that 'trapped / pinned down cat and mouse' style of car vs helicopter.
I adore the Minion fight from Black tho, probably my favorite in the series; the theme alone is incredible.
I've got the extended versions of both their songs in my library. 10minutes of sheer epicness each.
It was an ok fight

David Jaffe has no right to bitch about Metroid Dread when he created one of the most broken, unfair boss battles in history.
A quick video of you describing your ideal Twisted Metal game, character, special and boss would be fun.
A cool boss idea would be to drive inside a mech robot and while your inside doing damage and fighting enemies
God of war 2 helios statue lol
You can cheese minion in twisted metal 1 on rooftop. There's a spot on rooftop where you can jump off the roof with a jump pad, and survive. And if you pick specter his missiles go through the level and hits minion...
so you can literally sit there and shoot those wait for them to come back shoot them etc until he's dead. You can cheese the entirety of rooftop doing this. My friend and I found this by accident screwing around one night trying every part of rooftop to see if there's anywhere you can survive.
Be careful when you're down there though, if you go too far into the background you eventually will suddenly die.
I did notice if you freeze missile the little heads she shoots out you end up getting control of it allowing you to aim it back and cause damage
You’ve been killing it with these big list videos 👏
Gotta do every twisted metal character ranked
i appreciate twisted metal 2012 for trying a lot of different things, but it just didn’t really come together
U know the only problem i had with it was there was no other characters u could get endings for :(
I've been watching this channel lately because I picked up the first game on PS1, I am stuck on Minion can't beat him lol.
It's weird that this is basically a Twisted Metal channel but he didn't know about looking up in 2012.
Or, Charlie might be just as crazy as Sweet Tooth.
helllo true Twisted metal community i love yall we need this game to come back i miss playing it with yall

I remember being so scared every time I went against Tower Tooth on my psp when I was a kid 😭
I am glad to find someone beside me and my core friend group that doesn't hate Small Brawl
Probably the 3rd most TM game we played as kids behind 2 and 4.
thank u for the great quality TM videos, TBP
You should've played the better version of Head-On (the PSP version) to get the proper fight against Tower Tooth
How many Twisted Metal Games was Rushed and Underbudget. It seems like the entire Franchise was rushed and under budget.
My game freezes after the Iron Maiden fight, ALWAYS. I hate it. I never got passed that part.
I know literally nothing about this franchise, these videos are my only exposure to it, but I love ‘em
I just realized there hasn't been a boss that's just an armored, cash truck. I feel like it'd be obvious for someone to grab a cash truck to cheese other contestants.
Back when I knew how to play this game
The hardest combo was the reverse freeze combo attack followed by a reverse attack of what ever the boss hum v with the 3-6 missiles
I probably only had a 40-60% chance to pull it off in tm2
It also eats 4 special attacks to try
Enjoyed the list and video. An inherent obstacle with long lists is the number of transitions. I would've been happier with fewer transitions, maybe limited between tiers. Just a thought/suggestion
Unpopular opinion, but 3 is my personal favorite in the series. The crazy way the vehicles handle made for a lot of laughs in co-op play.
Also, Club Kid on max difficulty setting down a few dozen traps at once was hilarious. Really miss this one.
3:25 It's Heaven And Hell!!!! (reference to Heaven And Hell by Black Sabbath).
Great video and I knew Warhawk would place high, at least. Did you know that in the European version of Twisted Metal Black, all the cut scenes were removed? If you wanted to watch them, you had to go online to places like TH-cam.
Brothers grimm was always terrifying for me for some reason, love it tho
The Best Boss in the game!
You can literally kill most TM4 bosses by spawn-trapping them by dropping three proximity mines on top of each other after driving into a teleporter and not moving, driving away, then watching them fly out of bounds after taking the bait, including Sweet Tooth.
Big Daddy from rogue trip was a fantastic Bigg Boss.
You get a like for the picture of Mr Grimm
@@pharmcat8484Also from my favourite game TM2!
Legend has it that Iron Maiden is such an awful boss that it's the reason the band goes after anything video game related to the name
Thanks! :)
TM2 Dark Tooth is my favorite, Big, Scary, jumpscares you from behind the corner. Sounds of his weapons are awesome.
man i love the TM series. TM 2 is the peak but each game has a special place in my heart as i played em all as they came out.
Twisted Metal 4 on the other hand was a complete disappointment
you chose the right words. That's what many of us think. Those of us who played Twisted Metal 3 know that it was the best of all.
The difference is that in Twisted Metal 3 it was necessary to play with quality, a minimum error and you lose. Obviously you have to play it on the maximum difficulty.
The maps are excellent, the theme, the right amount of weapons and above all the characteristics that differentiate one character from another.
I love Small Brawl!
So do I, I have to love my creation
You've earned a comment for not bashing Small Brawl!
2012 is actually one of the best ones
Ignoring the 3 campaigns only
It is one of the best games and all the bosses are fun
Dunno why he had so much trouble with Iron Maiden, I got a Gold medal on the hardest difficulty first try
@@majesticwolfyguy6629its still not that fun to most people due to all the extenuating circumstances
So random TM2 question: is it intentional that Sweet Tooth's unlock code reads ULIAR (you liar)? Any particular meaning or just the devs having fun?
One day....I'm gonna get tired of all this Twisted Metal videos.....but that day is not today.....
Man, I played the Twisted Metal 'Head-On' and god, this brought memories.
