Like "he seems like a really nice guy, I'd love to get to know him" or "people are awful sometimes for staring and treating him like that. If they gave him a chance instead of judging him, they'd see that he's a genuine and kind soul."

That being said, I think the chances are slim, considering neither person picked the other person as a date, like in usual dating, this is just a set up of 2 complete strangers.

Gets all of the awkward questions out of the way first.
I wouldn't compare who has it "worse". Both have unique struggles. But yeah it must have taken a lot of effort to do, though I'm even more impressed at how well he can talk/eat/drink with a lot of the muscles used to do those being paralysed. Must have taken a lot of practice

Disabled isn't a bad word! It just means that there are some things we either can't do as easily or can't do at all as compared to most people. Plus it downplays a lot of the difficult things he has surely gone through over the years because of the facial paralysis. Like if someone said they were autistic and someone said "oh don't say that about yourself, you're just a little weird" but being autistic isn't a moral failing or something to be ashamed of, it's just a term that describes a shared lived experience that comes with its own challenges and opportunities just like everything else in life. (Note: I'm autistic and disabled)
