Awesome tour you guys! Bring back memories for us, we started off in a 27 foot travel trailer and now we travel full time in a fifth wheel. We love your home and Rocky (what a cutie) 06:00 we can totally relate to the fact about all the space being taken up in the bed. We have a chocolate siamese cat who thinks he is king of the hill LOL Thank you guys for sharing, you have new friends here. You have our support in your adventures, we will continue to be following you! #subscribed - Kyle and Renee
Thank you for the support!! That is awesome! We wish we could do that! Sounds like an amazing way to see the country! Rocky is a giant baby, and the definition of a velcro dog!😂 We also have a cat at home who thinks she is the ruler of the house. Cats will be cats lol! We can’t wait to see where your next adventure leads y’all! We will be watching!
Thank you! It really is, we love it!! Happy travels to y’all as well! Can’t wait to watch where y’all are at in your journey to visit all fifty states!
Tip: check the seal where the front cap meets the aluminum checkerplate panel. The caulking on mine was done poorly, allowing water penetration into the cargo storage compartment and comprising the floor.
Hello 👋,,your video was so important for as because we are buying one this weekend just the same model,we are beginning in this aventura,,,thank you guys and we keep following your videos....
I have the exact same model. I have upgraded mine with over 400 watts of solar panels on the roof, four 6 volt deep cycle batteries, and a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter. Due to the dark tinted windows, it was dark inside, so I added three roof vents (one with a powered fan) to bring in natural light and fresh air. I wired a 8’ long strip of LED light to provide uplighting above the sofa slideout. I also extended the bed by 6 inches to 80” by replacing the storage lid with a wider one and adding a 6” X 6” block of foam at the headboard. The manufacturer’s brochure was misleading, as it stated 80”, when in fact it was only a 74” mattress. To make the dinette seats more comfortable, i added removable lightweight panels to create a sloped backrest. When i looking to buy a trailer, I wanted a trailer with the dinette on the passenger side. This gives me a view out the big window to see the campsite to keep an eye on my children, campfire, and camping equipment. Almost 90% of travel trailers on the market has the dinette on the driver’s side, with only a small window that overlooks out into the campsite.
Wow, you have done a lot of modifications!! The bed is one that we need to with Luke being 6’7”. We love having the dinette on the passenger side! Beautiful views of the campsite can always be found!
I hope either you or the person(s) who posted this video might be willing to talk to me, as I have the 2022 version of this. I have all my solar stuff ready to go once it warms up (I live in Ohio), but I cannot for the life of me find the place where it would tie in. Thanks
If there is one bad thing on this trailer is the long distance between the hot water tank and the bathroom. A lot of water is wasted running the hot water tap before actual hot water comes out. This is a valuable commodity if I am dry camping with no hookups. The extra clean water also adds to the grey water tank. Often, I will collect the water in a pitcher and use it for flushing the toilet. My next project is to add a waterline to divert the cold water from the bathroom faucet back into the freshwater holding tank until it runs hot to prevent water waste.
The setup on the 246RKS is definitely a hard layout to beat! We are actually camping on Lake Guntersville! This is at Honeycomb campground and hands down our favorite campground!! Absolutely worth trip!
We have the same camper and just recently the slide out stopped working. I’ve been told there’s fuses in other places than the panel under the fridge that goes to slide out. Do you happen to know where they are?
Looking at the same exact model and will most likely be pulling the trigger in the next few days! How does the ram pull it? If that’s your tow vehicle. I have a 2020 ram 1500 4x4 5.7 and just curious on your setup if it’s similar to mine. Thanks!
That's awesome!! It's a great camper and the storage is phenomenal! I have a 2012 Ram 1500 4x4- 5.7 Hemi. It pulls it great!! I got the Hemi because of the power it had. I previously owned a 5.3 chevy and it wasnt my favorite to tow with. I have a leveling kit and 34" Ridge grappler tires (mud-terrain/ all-terrain hybrid) and I will get about 9 to 9.5 mpg while towing on average. How are you liking the new Ram?!? I love the new body style, I just go back and forth on getting another Ram when mine ultimately bites the dust (hopefully not for a long time! Lol). I'm currently at 175,000 miles and it's running strong but at 140,000 I had a series of rough months. I had the dreaded failed lifter, replaced wheel bearings, and front CV axles. I'm not trying to scare you 😅, because up until that it ran flawlessly. I'm sure they have worked these kinks out now. Just curious how you were liking it?
@@SaltwaterSeekers I love my new Ram! Wasn’t even considering until I test drove the new one and so far a very good choice! Rides like a caddy and pulls hard! Wife’s Toyota Hilander rides like a stagecoach compared to my Ram. Go ahead and pick up a new one!
@@SaltwaterSeekers Yes it is. Always had a duramax and decided to go back to gas. Ram had good torque and horsepower so I pulled the trigger! And no regrets so far👍 Hard to beat the trailing arm suspension.
@@rcamoonpie648 when I test drove my Ram I turned on the on ramp to the highway and opened her up. Needless to say that that torque kicked in and that was about all she wrote. I knew I was taking it home then! I'm interested to see the new Tundra. I know they are more reliable than any of the big three but the gas mileage is horrible on them. By the time you have paid for all that extra gas during the life of the truck you have more than covered any repairs you would have possibly made to the Ram!

Great vid. Beautiful campsite where is this?
This was at Honeycomb campground located on Lake Guntersville! It is beautiful!

We could see where that could be an issue when dry camping! Those are smart ways of being resourceful!!
Love the setup on the Coachmen 246rks, btw what lake are you camping on. Can’t beat the view

The only place I can think of would be on the fuse panel under the refrigerator. So other than that, I’m not sure! I’m sorry!

why didn't you show the gas grill? left of door!
That is on the newer models. We actually don’t have one by our door! That would be great if we did! Haha
I have a 2014 same model, it does have gas grill left of door
RKS = Rear kitchen, slide.
Thank you for the correction!
