I have 4 young homeschooling children. I'm overwhelmed sometimes. I need to set more boundaries for myself to take time for my self care. I just roll out of bed and start the day. I always used to shower and get ready when I worked. Showers wake me up. I
To be more present, I had 6 kids in 12 years back to back, and got caught up in the busy, burnt out mom mode where I feel soooooooooo far behind and can never catch up ( to what actually ? Your guess is as good as mine but it's an aggressive feeling.) It's hard to be present, and when I am my to-do list catches up really quick. So I start off with 15 mins a day and soon I will increase the time but for now it's an improvement.
Great video! I don't use social media with the exception of TH-cam. I've had to set boundaries around TH-cam as well. 1. Only listen to videos when driving alone in the car. 2. While cleaning house and my children are not present. 3. I don't follow or give my attention to channels that make me feel less than. 4. No TH-cam when with my children. 5. No TH-cam in bed. 6. No TH-cam while eating/ showering 7. No TH-cam when I'm already feeling overwhelmed. Manytimes I prefer silence over hearing someone else's opinions and values. As a homeschooling working mom it's easy to get distracted online. I love my work outside of the home because it's in education of young children but my priority are my children. The most important work I will ever do is within the walls of our home.
I fasted from my phone for advent,. I couldn’t believe how much extra free time and energy I had from not being on my phone. I will just leave it in a drawer or another room when I’m with my kids. Also, I noticed that sometimes you just need to sit in silence during the few minutes where you would have been on your phone. It was very difficult at first. I don’t think we are used to silence anymore, but it’s so refreshing and rejuvenating. I think our brains need a break from the constant Content and news we get on our phones. I will be making my phone fast permanent.
Yes, well said. Ignore the judgement when you turn to The Most High and how he made our role in motherhood including learning. Some people in these certain industries and system will try to exploit any insecurity you have in order to use to their advantage and goals whether it is selling you things or getting you to do something to uphold their goals with no reguard to your personal and family values and may just project their own onto you😊
What’s one thing you want to do differently as a mom?
