Awesome build! I had a 2004 MR2 Spider w/K24 bottom end, K20 head (276whp 91 pump gas). I also added a JDM close ratio 6spd trans in it. Light, fun, and fast! Seeing what you're doing here has me thinking for sure, lol.
i'm sure some of the powers missing due to transmission loss, RWD tend to suck up more power than FWD, if im not mistaken is 5% - 10% more than FWD, some bolt ons and you will be in the 250 wheel territory though. but still, N/A build and specially turbo is where this car out performs most 4 bangers.
It definitely does. The K Power kit instructions involves a small trans tunnel tweak to slide engine and trans even further back. I would love to see the numbers too!
My friend just did this swap, but it keeps overheating. Fans are working, full blown radiator is installed, and coolant has been burped. Oh also, new thermostat too.
its NA and WHP not BHP. WHP is always less. It's only 2.4 L so ur probably only making 180ish ftlbs of torque without forced induction. Throw in some upgraded internals from Manley, BC, or diamond and you can make a reliable 9k rpm easy so probably 300+ hp. You will lose a little torque but it's still NA. Throw in Forced induction and you can truly see some crazy numbers. You could also just put a k20 head on the k24 block (cheaper) but you would still need to upgrade internals to add forced induction anyways and the cheap power is less reliable.
what I meant by the k20 head swap is ur pushing the internals to near limit so you can't continue to add a turbo without upgrading the internals anyway so might as well just upgrade the internals in the first place (if you have the money).
better than 160-170 a stock brz makes to the wheels plus 220 honda hp is more fun and reliable than fa20 220 lol the peak hp number isnt the fully story
Engine swap to just make 218hp and little torque? Wouldn't a an aluminum LS2 or LS3 make more sense? They're lighter than a K24 and make much more power and torque. My husband swapped LS3 in to his RX-7 and it made 430hp and 422lb torque. Aluminum LS3 weighs in at 403 lbs and K24 weighs in at 413 lbs.
@@KevinVo my husband and I picked up the LS for $450, it only had 55k miles but that didn't matter we were rebuilding it anyways, probably could have found it cheaper but we were impatient. Had no idea those LS2/LS3 were in MANY MANY MANY MANY GM cars, everything from sedans, to trucks, to even plain SUVs. But I understand now because of your ClubTR very restricted class rules, if it's built specifically for that it makes sense. My buddy Qartoumy runs in the unlimited class with his C6 Corvette, not as restricted.
@@mariagus805 Ya you got impatient, we waited 3 weeks for the local pick a part here in Los Angeles and picked up LS motor for $300 to put in cousin's 350z. Dude thank you so much for filming this. It was awesome seeing you guys!!!!
Always welcome man! See you in a few days at Midwest Fest!
I am building a k24 for the same swap. What all did you go with?
You think I can do this on a automatic?
the sound is unreal

I need to look into those ground clearance tophat things. lowering your car without compromising travel sounds awesome
Thank you so much for making this, my second fa just blew and I’m looking to K24 swap
It's certainly a nice upgrade!
Can’t wait to hear it rip some VTEC out at the track! What an awesome build
Only a few more days!!!
Wow, that's such a clean swap.
This is the dream set up. Engine wise
Isn't the new fa 2.4l engine more powerful than the k24?
These k swapped frs/BRZ are sick
Man we want to see more like that, K engine is amazing 😍
wow a reliable Subaru at last
nice build !
FA 20 not reliable when FI but stock NA not reliable?
@@saulespino2510 It's not mine just blew up
The nice thing about the k24, is its significantly lighter (and more reliable) than the FA20.
That is true! Expensive to swap though!

Gorgeous engine bay. Great build
218? Seems low for a K, no?
specially since you can pay the same amount and get a turbo kit for almost double the power
FBO K24s make 220 on 91
Agree, and with other more popular swaps like LS3 which weighs less than K24 (403lbs vs 413lbs) and makes over 400hp.
my favorite 86 build 👌 can't wait to see more footage of it
Crazy how the new fa24 makes 220 stock on 91
I'm excited for the potential the FA24 has!
Very cool! Has he weighed it? I'm curious if the K24 improves the F/R weight distribution
It definitely does. The K Power kit instructions involves a small trans tunnel tweak to slide engine and trans even further back. I would love to see the numbers too!
K24 is about 100 lbs lighter than the fa20
Finalmente numeri reali e non prese in giro!

I got a pic of you standing next Bucky at Boxer fest when he broke the S209
Send it on over to my IG! @thekevinvo
@@KevinVo I sent it to your dm.
LMFAOOO a k24 for $600 at a junkyard? Say no more 🤣😂 lemme start dumpster diving
The engine is the cheap part lol
@@KevinVo yeah everything around it will cost you your first born.
Yo. I watched the live stream from grid life. Car looks good! Did you see the s2000 spin in front of you. Lol
Thanks for the support! I did indeed see it spin out in front of me hahaha
Wing adds what?

All it needs is a nice big turbo
so what holds it in place?? just the tranny mount?
So it only made 6 more hp with E85?
Cheaper then Ls swap?
As soon as I saw this, I was like " PGRANBURG11!!!!!"
Honda guy at heart but damn the price for the swap is so ridiculous its hard to justify
Wait so why can't he have his rear diffuser for that specific club race?
Rules don't allow rear diffusers in our class.
Turbo is almost a must for a k24 swap 86. Otherwise all you got was reliability and potential.
Is it easy to do a K-Swap?
LOL short answer is no.
Definitely a bunch of custom fabrication, for the average person I would say this would cost 15k easy.
*If it's not for monetized TH-cam content, there's little return for it, so I would say no.*
that curve seems surprisingly similar to a brz curve at first glance
Except a lot more revs
Wanna do this to my wrx, once I get the money 😁
No turbski?
No FI for the class he's running, but he'll be putting on in there eventually!
I would put a ls3 just my opinion
The power would be awesome, but the weight would be higher as well. It might throw off the balance of the car.
di indonesia juga ada, punya garasi drift
Swapped, tuned … for 218 whp 😒
better than 160-170 a stock brz makes to the wheels plus 220 honda hp is more fun and reliable than fa20 220 lol the peak hp number isnt the fully story
Boy doesn’t know about the K engine bruh mans finna get walked in his little mustang

Can you buy an LS3 for $600? Plus, that engine doesn't work in the class that he's competing in. It needs to be 2.5L or less.
