I am really happy when I saw this as your new guide. I've been avoiding fishing like a curse unless I absolutely needed it for cooking because I couldn't understand the mechanics of fishing, or how many fish. (Not to mention I haven't even tried to do any museum stuff 🙃)

I am missing the Star Snapper, took me a while to realize and its winter in game and I need to find it in spring/summer. Also the Antique Mirror I am finding really hard to find, I recommend to get it earlier (silver or gold rod) so you do not get fish etc instead but thank you for the confirm on it being in lake of area 2. Also if anyone asks, you have 5 places for nets on each normal beach and that makes 15 total.
At 1st I kept tapping the button instead, dunno if I just skipped entirely the tool tutorial that it gave at the start or what, but then it worked when I actually tried holding it down. My technique for most collectibles and materials is just to keep hoarding everything until I have at lest like 10 of each then I start selling, so I know I'll not lack materials down the line when I need to make something or fill requests

For the recipe that needs the giant catfish, I was only able to get the 10-star fish with the orichalcum rod and fishing level 10. 😥 I'm afraid under that you'll get 9-star fish which makes it impossible or almost impossible for the recipe!

The recipe only needs to be 6 stars and because I have all the other ingredients on 10 stars, it should be possible. But I will need the giant king crab again later but that time, the recipe has to be maximum stars so yeah, I will need a 10 star giant king crab >.< Seems like I have to grind a bit! Thanks a lot for the info, so I won't waste my time trying to catch it before my fishing level isn't high enough!

In the last batch of recipes you need to make a 'Spicy, yet mellow entrée' Which you can complete by making a Tom Yum Pla for which you need a Giant Catfish. Another option is the Boo Paht Tong Karee for which you need a Giant King Crab. Btw the recipe only needs to be level 6. So both right and wrong and still talking about the same thing. This was actually my last recipes and the reason I starting focusing on fishing.

Can the fishing nets catch any type of fish besides the sparkling variants and the legendaries? I find the fish that overlap past 10pm harder to find because it means waking up late the next day. Also, I wish fish didn't show up in the encyclopedia until they were donated or the encyclopedia helps you keep track. Would help in the case of finding that last fish.
I’m missing five fish in the second last row on the left. I need Spotted Eagal Ray, Halibut, Giant Grouper, Marlin. Also that one shellfish. Do they have to be caught in specific season? I’m currently in Winter.

OH MY GOD. All of the guides are wrong! I couldn’t get the marlin because all guides I have googled show Farm Beach #3, not #2. THANK YOU SO MUCH IT HAS BEEN DAYS TRYING LOL. I got it immediately on Beach #2!
There's no bait for treasure. Actually just make sure you don't use any bait, as that would increase your chance of getting a fish. Just keep trying, good luck!

Yep the sprite will only give you the most common fish! Good luck with Lovett's quests!

Is fishing a treasure rng? Or can you create some sort of "bait" for it?
There's no bait for treasure. Actually just make sure you don't use any bait, as that would increase your chance of getting a fish. Just keep trying, good luck!

Cat fish is in area one by the cave, or fishers island, which you get access to when you reach level 9 for fishing
