Yes, I always had my pet on a leash as I worked on my farm or had to run errands in town. I even had them on a leash when I would go in the mines so I wouldn't have to find them after I came out to do stuff around my farm.

As soon as I saw I could choose where to put things in the museum I got a sinking feeling. I can’t plan a layout without knowing everything that’s available! And I don’t want to spoil them all for myself! So I decided then and there that this playthrough I would just document my own journey by placing them left to right, top to bottom, chronologically in the order I found them. Might be interesting to look back on, and I can plan a pretty layout for next time! Unless of course they patch in the ability to move things. Then I’m going full Stardew Valley on this thing. 😅
For the pics I put bugs on right and animals on left have them meet in the middle in back hopefully in chronological order same with treasures and fish lol be quite the interesting museum but first runs never look asthetic
I second this! Animal crossing has all the layout inspo ideas and I would love to see some for PoOt just so we can gather ideas on how to design our farm layout!
I wish they combined makers that essentially do the same thing like the lumber and ingot makers and the cloth and dye makers for example. And they really need to make it so that each maker can make stacks of 10 and just scale the time like they did in SoS
Yes I also find that the makers are an eyesore on my farm. I wish they took a few more leaves out of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Like being able to appraise multiple items at once or donate multiple items at once. Reina's voice in the english voice is obnoxious. She sounds like one of those over the top bimbos which really doesn't suit her imo. I appreciate that they added voice acting but they could have at least put a little more thought into the quality of the voices that we, the players, will have to hear repeatedly. It also would have been nice to eventually unlock warehouses like you do in SV and put your makers chests in them. It really sucks that you can't put makers and chests in buildings. I was also kinda hoping they would bring back the coffee and strawberry cows from FOMT. They were adorable.
Also a smaller foot print for each maker is needed! Why do they need x4 squares for each one? That is a waste of space & it could be much more organized. ;-)
I was getting so mad that you couldn't buy ore anywhere in town and then I learned that you need to ship 1 of everything for unlocking stuff LOL. Great tips!

@@MarioDS01 I don''t think the flower shop sells the flowers individually, only the seeds ones. As Josh mentioned in the video you can buy them from the Sprites! Hope that is helpful :)
It is really hard not to be tempted to go for the sprinklers when you want to spend time mining or getting more resources, but I get that, and it's a good point. Though I admit having so many makers running is driving me a bit nuts. There are aspects of this game that drive me a bit nutty.
So for tip #10 there is a hot key, I think it is X, that will allow you to pull open a menu and just click a button to put away tools in the bag. Just a bit faster then picking up an moving.

Same I've saved everything now I got to much but afraid to get rid of anything. Lol. I'm only starting to get rid of stuff once I reach the gold star & then using those veggies for seeds once I have a gd handful saved lol. And if I have extra of that veggie/fruit but low quality then I sell.
This was very helpful this my 1st time playing seasons/harvest games I've played little wood and stardew. So I did not find the tools until later in that bag too. Lol I love the games so far only wish I had more time to play.

I spend like a whole week looking up how to make lumber maker 😂 I was like I hate this game why is this thing so damn hard to find. It was already there all along.
The wildflowers are also good for making bouquets! If you want to make the perfumes you need bouquet essences, the wildflower one is easy to make bouquets out of since the other flowers are more useful for honey/dye making
Totally agree. Maybe we can suggest that. But personally I rather see an update on being able to make more materials with the makers. Making them ONE AT A TIME takes forever. Why in the world did they not think of this before releasing the game? I guess it makes a challenge, but it is one none of us need.
@@MarioDS01 Agree with you. Is annoying specially the ones that takes longer, it took me a while to get 10 pieces of bricks out of only two machines lol. I have hope that they will fix and add some content regularly.
@@delvysdominguez7953 Yeah and actually someone else mention there are actually too many makers to micromanage to make certain products/materials. Maybe come up with a way to merge some or all/most together then juggle with too many of them. Plus they take up way too much space...
@@MarioDS01 that’s a great idea. Only one big machine that produce the result based on how many material you put inside. Something like 3 Iron Ore=1 Iron Ingot so if you drop 30 Ores you get 10 Ingots back as result. That sounds amazing to me.

Its so hard not to decorate too much. I feel like I have no time to decorate and keep up with mining enough to get all the materials I need to upgrade and repair things. I still have to fix the silo, and the bee box thing. Then I can move on to making bigger barns and coops.
Also try to get the spore maker before getting the wood cutting area. the most valuable mushroom is there and you can just pop them in the maker and then start growing them right away without having to buy the spores.
They're sort of taking player input, so its always worth making noise about features that should be added or changed. Like, for example, incorporating Sheds from Stardew Valley with the number of makers they have. Or QoL stuff like the option for JP voices, rearrange the museum, and multi-appraise.
I started out giving away the moondrops! I'll start saving them now. Thank you for all these tips! This information is so valuable and will make a huge difference in my gameplay and enjoyment of SoS! Thank you, Josh!
Really helpful guide :) I decided to skip the sprinklers because they are quite expensive to make^^ I’d rather want to upgrade my tools first. And btw if you press y while on a tool in your bag, you can put them into your toolbag immediately :)
I know not everybody cares about these little details and having things perfectly organized, but I DO, I need everything organized- was in winter of year 1, first 3 areas unlocked but my farm was just a MESS, I had to restart my farm twice now trying to figure out organized tips. Also if you wanna have 9 x 9 for your crops you can have them , but also to set those sprinklers for larger amounts but you can jus sell those , but also to use the 3x3 for yourself. So you will have something for yourself and an another for selling.
Great video. Don't think I made any real mistakes yet, but maybe I'll make a new game. Thinking of trying to get more iron ore/igots early and lumber to upgrade my tools. As for the museum one, that is kind of minor, plus we don't know what animals are in the game. Maybe it will be fixed in an update. Personally I like to see an update to be able to make more material at once with the makers, takes forever to make enough. As for the wildflower one, not quite sure. If you sell at least one of each, the flower shop should make those flowers available. Although the hoarding one makes sense to be able to buy material in the future if needed. Although you might of forgotten to suggest making more storage units if you want to hold more materials.

I actually cried "OH SH*T" at the Orichalcum one lol. I just got super excited at my first batch of Ori ore XD Put them all in right away. I made all these mistakes except the brick one; I peeked at the Plant and realized I need the pumps. The trees one tho...I actually am planning to cut my trees today. So many tears. I'll leave them out until my farm is all final and plant them all on the secret gardens for now. One I want to add is to hold out on crafting the makers (mayonnaise, cheese, condiment, powder etc.) early in the game, because you will get one as medal rewards anyway. And since you prolly don't need two of each early game they can eat up precious space.
i just got my preorder today I'm so exictedd!! I got the european edition and the notebook is so cute! It has a fully illustrated calendar at the beginning with crops of the season on I'm going to write down some of these tips in there rn!
Thank you for the heads up I just started my game yesterday and the only way I could have room in my pouch is to sell stuff but now I have a box to put other things in I save everything I get
One tip I have is if you want high quality crops and make high quality food, go to the sprite village and go to the Elder Sprite sometimes he sell 10* quality seeds! Once you have the seed maker you can mass produce as much high quality crops as possible ☺️
I'm new to this game. And this tips really helpful, thx so much. Only thought keeping flower as a gift, but actually can be very useful for honey maker. Now I'm not regret it always keep in storage. Also I'm making 9 sprinklers as mistake for making a lot of green peper, now I'm gonna use watering can instead. Thx
I accidentally put down seeds in the wrong season and I thought they'd just disappear if I used the hammer on them. This is a huge relief! And I'm lucky that I just haven't used sprinklers at all yet, so I already have that leveled pretty high. But I know what to be aware of as I continue forward now. :) Super helpful!
I decorated my first two areas but I’m lazy so I leave large spaces where trees and weeds can grow in the second and third side so I can go collect trees if I need too and I call it the logging area💀 I also didn’t plan my museum. I was aware that I should Bc I thought about it but I also dont care about it I barely go to museum. I’ve resigned to chaos let them weeds come !
I saw how pretty your farm was and just laughed at my own. I don’t use walkways and it’s industrialized beyond comprehension. Don’t know if I even want to fix it because I’m set in my ways lol.

Better yet , I would suggest that you should jus take your time and plan to yourself , like where you wanna place them. This is for placing things in the Museum.
Honestly im gonna be so disappointed if people start turning sos into another decoration contest like people did with animal crossing. Thats kinda what killed new horizons for me was the whole over the top decorated island elitism. And maybe dont say the museum is ruined if its not all planned out like who actually cares? How often do people actually go in an just look at the museum in game? Cause i dont. I go in, donate stuff and leave.
Advice, if you want to cook like me. Grow various plants and keep them in the fridge. I noticed I'm going to need wheat so now I'm growing wheat last minute before winter and it's sloppy.
In 1st Fall right now. I wanted to start decorating the farm. I noticed the tree issue so now I'm leaving the bottom right of the first land uncleared to let the trees grow.
I’ve been selling too many of my plants, but still in season 1, spring, day 12 I think, and honestly, loving the game. I’m not decorating until much further into the game. I have no idea on layout just yet.
I noticed when i sold something for the first time it showed up in the stores...so now i just always split anything new & atleast sell one of everything, just like you mentioned..
Great tips, thanks! I just started playing a couple of days ago. It's very similar to "Portia" and of course Stardew. Quite fun, the loading time is shorter than what I've seen on some TH-cam playthroughs, it must have been patched I suppose. Cheers! 😊👍
Story of Seasons is the new name of the original Harvest Moon games, the first farming sim game that SV was “inspired” by. At that time, late 90’s, people complained it was kinda boring and since then Harvest Moon devs (now Story of Seasons) have tried to make the fans happy. The “new” Harvest Moon games by Natsume are totally different and not very good. Nowadays everyone loves farming games but when the first Harvest Moon were released it wasn’t like that. In fact it was the first Animal Crossing game, for Gamecube, that made me discover Harvest Moon games. They try to bring different aspects to their games since there are already so many, with either the original name or now SoS. It makes me sad that people keep comparing SoS to newer farming games since HM/SoS were the first ones.
Oops, just need to correct myself here: You unlock the pond area after draining both ponds on your farm once, NOT by reaching draining skill level 9!
Ive already drained both ponds and i havent found some secret pond area.

I think there needs to be an updated version of beginner tips now that the new patches are out and this majorly changes how the makers work.

As for the wildflower one, not quite sure. If you sell at least one of each, the flower shop should make those flowers available. Although the hoarding one makes sense to be able to buy material in the future if needed. Although you might of forgotten to suggest making more storage units if you want to hold more materials.

I actually cried "OH SH*T" at the Orichalcum one lol. I just got super excited at my first batch of Ori ore XD Put them all in right away. I made all these mistakes except the brick one; I peeked at the Plant and realized I need the pumps. The trees one tho...I actually am planning to cut my trees today. So many tears. I'll leave them out until my farm is all final and plant them all on the secret gardens for now.
One I want to add is to hold out on crafting the makers (mayonnaise, cheese, condiment, powder etc.) early in the game, because you will get one as medal rewards anyway. And since you prolly don't need two of each early game they can eat up precious space.
i just got my preorder today I'm so exictedd!! I got the european edition and the notebook is so cute! It has a fully illustrated calendar at the beginning with crops of the season on I'm going to write down some of these tips in there rn!

This is probably not very common, but I actually prefer not to decorate that much. I just like the rugged, wild look (and I'm lazy).
One tip I have is if you want high quality crops and make high quality food, go to the sprite village and go to the Elder Sprite sometimes he sell 10* quality seeds! Once you have the seed maker you can mass produce as much high quality crops as possible ☺️

I accidentally put down seeds in the wrong season and I thought they'd just disappear if I used the hammer on them. This is a huge relief!
And I'm lucky that I just haven't used sprinklers at all yet, so I already have that leveled pretty high. But I know what to be aware of as I continue forward now. :) Super helpful!

I planted all my trees in the special areas that you unlock from the spring. The fact that it's an endless season means endless orchard harvest 🎉

I decorated my first two areas but I’m lazy so I leave large spaces where trees and weeds can grow in the second and third side so I can go collect trees if I need too and I call it the logging area💀 I also didn’t plan my museum. I was aware that I should Bc I thought about it but I also dont care about it I barely go to museum. I’ve resigned to chaos let them weeds come !

I saw how pretty your farm was and just laughed at my own. I don’t use walkways and it’s industrialized beyond comprehension. Don’t know if I even want to fix it because I’m set in my ways lol.

Honestly im gonna be so disappointed if people start turning sos into another decoration contest like people did with animal crossing. Thats kinda what killed new horizons for me was the whole over the top decorated island elitism. And maybe dont say the museum is ruined if its not all planned out like who actually cares? How often do people actually go in an just look at the museum in game? Cause i dont. I go in, donate stuff and leave.

Advice, if you want to cook like me. Grow various plants and keep them in the fridge. I noticed I'm going to need wheat so now I'm growing wheat last minute before winter and it's sloppy.
In 1st Fall right now. I wanted to start decorating the farm. I noticed the tree issue so now I'm leaving the bottom right of the first land uncleared to let the trees grow.
Very nice tip! I decorated my farm I wish the developers will fix the fps drops real soon. It's hard to play like this.

I noticed when i sold something for the first time it showed up in the stores...so now i just always split anything new & atleast sell one of everything, just like you mentioned..
You can put your tools in your tool bag much more quickly by pressing Y while one of your tools is highlighted in your menu!
There is a shortcut to put your tools back in the toolbag. Just press Y and they automatically going in there.

Great tips, thanks! I just started playing a couple of days ago. It's very similar to "Portia" and of course Stardew. Quite fun, the loading time is shorter than what I've seen on some TH-cam playthroughs, it must have been patched I suppose. Cheers! 😊👍
Story of Seasons is the new name of the original Harvest Moon games, the first farming sim game that SV was “inspired” by. At that time, late 90’s, people complained it was kinda boring and since then Harvest Moon devs (now Story of Seasons) have tried to make the fans happy. The “new” Harvest Moon games by Natsume are totally different and not very good. Nowadays everyone loves farming games but when the first Harvest Moon were released it wasn’t like that. In fact it was the first Animal Crossing game, for Gamecube, that made me discover Harvest Moon games. They try to bring different aspects to their games since there are already so many, with either the original name or now SoS. It makes me sad that people keep comparing SoS to newer farming games since HM/SoS were the first ones.
