I can't believe how fortunate I am to be connected to this material. Thank you ZDoggMD and Angelo Dilullo, finding the book absolutely amazing and feel a very strong pull to this content even moreso than my usual 'obsession' with dharma and deep contemplative practice over the past 3 years. Currently 25% of the way through but trying to take it slow and really apply what's being said. Metta

      Hello, Sam,
      I totally agree!
I first heard Angelo two weeks ago in his lovely interview of Simcha Lev.
Then these conversations found me and I am inhaling them.
Practically exploding with gratitude to be alive at a time when these openings are so available!
I’m 65 years old, and bouncing around like a child!
Thank you both. Thank you all!

Peace will come, but for the moment please pardon me while I babble with joy!
This energy has been tamped down within me for a long, long time…

I feel like I was kind of pushed in to this, as he was talking about, years ago; which at the time my life was in a state of emergency and I needed it, but being lost on my life path and various difficulties that came with it, and ignorance, I found myself in a troubling place later on, even more isolated from reality and myself.
These talks have been unspeakably helpful, I needed to hear someone grounded talk so plainly and directly about this experience and how it can continue.

I appreciate you both so much, whilst the awakening experience for me has come incrementally over time and unfolds as you open to it Dr Angelo’s work is a catalyst and I am now experiencing FINALLY a quiet mind. Incredibly valuable pointings received after much preparatory work and much frustration but so worth it. Words are in adequate to thank you both for your generosity of spirit. But heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to you both. 🙏❤️xx

I can get into the moment by playing guitar in a band, particularly when playing out. Also, when I ride the motorcycle, I get into the zone and when I drift back to reality 50 miles has gone by. I actually think the second is a bit dangerous, and I actively work against it. It's best to be hyper vigilant of the environment when riding. But maybe that's what Dr. Angelo means by presence.

Not so much for me riding that reality goes away, but the hyper awareness of this beautiful earth and I’m so into it on the bike. That’s my zone.

Had experiences as a young child which I now think were this awakened state you are alluding to….have been on a quest most of my adult life to understand what those experiences were and how to revisit them (could enter that realm at will when young, then that ability faded as I got older). Thank you both for these discussions and suggestions…got the book……nothing in my is life more crucial than this subject/path…..greatly beneficial to self and all others whose lives I may impact!

You don't necessarily have to talk to them about it. It's a pretty solitary and intimate process honestly. But I wouldn't let the disapproval of others, no matter how close dissuade you from investigating your true nature if that's what is most important to you :)

It's great to hear you talking about the mind silencing effect, because it happened to me many times reading Eckhart Tolle and I heard it addressed by anyone before. I always assumed it was subconscious recognition of something.

Morality is for the individual as it is formulated by a collective of individuals
Once the individual is now indivisible then there is no such thing as moral, as there is no longer attachment to identifying as seperate.

Thanks so much to the two of you for these presentations! They're truly invaluable, and extremely helpful. Re: the Ego (which I've been reading about for years now). I've often wondered, "WHY??"--so what's its purpose? Why is the Ego even within us in the first place? [And, BTW, I loved the phrase '...chasing the carrot on a stick the Ego holds out in front of you at all times.' Yikes! I actually prefer green peas - does that help me? (Ha.)]

The idea of "self" is purely of the mind. The emperor has no clothes because the emperor and clothes don't exist, only in our collective minds.

@@Kmnz525 Everything that I experience, know and understand is via my subjective mind. Everything in your subjective mind is instantly part of objective reality (the objective universe) from my point of view.
My subjective mind, (thoughts and experiences) is only my interpretation of the objective universe, including any thoughts or ideas that you may have shared with me from your subjective mind.
This implies that my subjective mind is also part of the objective universe.
My reflection in the mirror can't be aware of me because it can't think (has no awareness).
My subjective mind can only interpret the objective universe which includes my subjective mind.
Because my subjective mind can think, it must be able to be aware of the presence that it is a reflection of.
My subjective mind must be able to interpret its own reflection that is part of, (present in) objective reality, instantly.

I love how you described your friend's experience at the vipassana retreat. I had a similar one taking Ayahuasca. But the "container" that I had for it was my Christian belief system. As I imagine all belief systems of a religious nature somehow are used as containers for these experiences as your guest says they are perfectly natural to have. The Aya and vipassana for 12 days are ways of inducing it, as I'm sure we know of many more throughout cultures and across time. What are these things pointing to? I try to analyze things taking Don Hoffman's theory about consciousness as true and combine that with perhaps a Jungian tinge of interpreting our reality as a dream world where things have a plethora of symbolic meanings. Are we both dreamer and dream? Then things start to get weird. But I can't help but think they get more true.

Follow the lead of Manjushri in the Surangama Sutra. He. states "They [practitioners] only need the practice of the faculty of hearing for them to break through to Enlightenment". Lectures are OK for a good start, but the most direct approach is (following Manjushri's advice) is through hearing (of sounds, mantra; not lectures). Access the Rig Veda's foremost Shiva mantra, "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir" and listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks. In due time (if not already), you will tap into and merge with Pure Consciousness.

This series of episodes literally helped me to understand what was happening to me and I was so overwhelmed, stressed, fearful and confused by what was happening and never been religious by any means except in a God, but I suddenly seem REAL demonic entities inside certain friends and strangers, was incredibly paranoid, hyper vigilant, intuitive ten fold, and was having what seemed like a bad trip or developed a sudden serious mental illness! I immediately quit doing drugs (25+ year addiction) quit porn, no FAP, quit overthinking and see everything so very different now and never in my life heard this was a real thing! I lost my wife of last 20 years and spiraled down fast and this all happened just days of her 3rd year of being gone 😢 I feel God and Angels literally right beside me and been seeing so many “signs” that any normal person would want to tell me was nothing but mere coincidence, but I am CERTAIN I have opened some gateway between here and some spiritual realm of existence. Thank you for making some sense of this incredible and phenomenal life changing event I am currently experiencing hard core! ❤

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 🙏

Just in response to agency, as Angelo asked how others experience this; For "me", there is no longer any sense of free will or agency. I don't mean that it appears as though I have no control or that someone is imposing their will onto me. There's just simply no one here. There is only what seems to be happening, but it doesn't happen to or for anyone.
    Just "my" two cents lol

Re: psychedelics, I would say that like any other medicine, they have their place. You don’t *need* them to awaken or to heal trauma, and for some people they may a very real negative. I know for my initial experience wasn’t intentional re: awakening; our intention was to have a fun experience together on a rare kid free night. Of course I was aware of how psilocybin can facilitate spiritual experience etc but it wasn’t the goal. And there was a lot of intense intimacy (beyond anything sexual; pure spiritual connection) but I also had that profound experience I mentioned yesterday on the first video in this series. I wasn’t looking for it, but I was ready for it. I think what’s important to realize if you do utilize psychedelics as a tool is that those experiences are possible without it. Having read a lot of mystical experiences from Saints and other holy people, I very much believe that what they experience is like those kinds of trips. If we could scan the brain during those religious experiences I think it would mimic what we see unfold in a psilocybin trip. I think you need to stay aware of falling into thinking of psychedelics as something you *need* to experience that state, because it exists now and you can access it now.

    • @gxlorp
      @gxlorp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

So they actually _are_ starting to to the brain scans. So far they used a mix of both traditional monks, as well as advanced lay people practicioners, and hybrids. Like, they scanned Shinzen Youngs brain. Look into the EPRC it's young but it will be for these mediation/brain phenomenon what MAPS is/was for psychedelics.

I had my breakthrough peak experience on a low dose of LSA containing seeds. Hawaiian Baby Woodrose. 3 seeds. Clothed before and after + 1 year were existential experiences. Especially after.... After the peak experience I had existential crisis both sober and on high dose shroom trips. 2 big doses and one medium dose.
After another year I found the book Angello Mentioned, Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, and I got to the "equanimity" stage, in meditation. I did 2 mediation retreats.
I then went to a Buddhist school, quit mediating, got a real job. Then in 2021 rebooted meditation and now I'm close to crossing the threshold into awakening / stream entry

Just to feed your ego? To get that deep stroke from people? You literally know better.
