Thank God Jed Allan got wasted early. His demise immediately improved this episode. Well written episode with fine acting by Darrn McGavin, Marion Ross & Dom DeLuise.

Corney scripts, should have been Who Killed the King of Corn? The enjoyable part of all the shows, this 2nd reprised Burke’s Law, were the older movie and TV stars. This was somewhat a lesser type of Murder She Wrote shows. But it’s bubble gum for the mind, so enjoy the repetitive pattern in the writing. Miss so many of these stars who have passed away. Nostalgia.

At 35.29 in, there's something on the beach that's probably just a weathered rock but it has the shape that you'd associate with the torch held by the Statue of Liberty. It brings to mind the final scene of the '70s picture "Planet Of The Apes' where the astronaut comes across the fallen Statue and realises that he's back on Earth. That final scene would have been realised by the skills of the studio matte-workers and modellers, and there'd have been no props left behind on the beach.
