I am in awe of anyone who says Mike Connors' name! Mannix was superb, a class act-right up there with Columbo. Mannix's secretary, "Peggy" Fair played by Gail Fisher, raised the profile of secretary for everyone.
I've got to say this, about 23:00 the bit about Lincoln on the eggplant, and the Battle Hymn of the Republic in the background... Abraham Lincoln always has magic and deep feeling in us, even on this comedic spoof.
This is one of those shows where I watch the first 5 minutes, to see who all the suspects are, guess why did it, and then skip right to the last five minutes to check whether I was right. And, yep, on this occasion, I was right.
Mike Connors!! An eggplant that looks like Abraham Lincoln ;D Nice to see Gary Collins. "I don't want to say we had a lot of rain, but I saw the animals going in 2 x 2"

This makes no sense. So a guy who just got stabbed in the back has the focus of mind to figure out in a FEW SECONDS BEFORE HE DIES THAT THESE NUMBERS ARE THE NAME OF HIS KILLER when read upside down? Come on now. This is ridiculous. Wouldn't it be easier to just call 911 and say his killer's name? And why would his killer even let him pick up the phone?
You are correct. And not only that, but what kind of “evidence” is this? How could a district attorney even bring that to trial? How is an upside down phone number evidence against Gillis? DA: do you have any forensic evidence? Burke: no, but we do have a phone number upside down! Also, why dues Gillis confess, when Burke has nothing on him? Why doesn’t he plead the fifth and ask for a lawyer? Also, isn’t Gillis entitled to be read his Miranda rights?
@josephsarto689 yes. That's what always happens in this show. The killer volunteers a confession based on evidence that would never hold up in court. Absolutely ridiculous
Dom DeLuise must have been doing it tough, his part in several of these episodes strikes me as charity, it has absolutely nothing to do with anything, it's not even funny, why is he even there? he must have known someone with connections and they gave him the part so they could pay him....and claim it as a tax deduction🤣🤣
I sort of wondered about him as well. He wasn't on as often in the beginning (I don't think), but at this point he makes an appearance in every episode, and each gets more pathetic than the last.
The man who played stormy gillis still has very nice curly hair even with gray around the edges, just like when he was younger and played in shows,in the80s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would have been more credible had the tattoo parlor owner been the killer.Ellery Queen tried this telephone number bit years ago.Too bad that they didn't have "Whoopi" telling the interviewer to get the hell out of the building.

By Peter Barton having such ways of a gentleman he could have played an acting role of a prince in a fairy tale movie.
