"Who Killed the Hollywood Headshrinker?" is an episode of Burke's Law starring Gene Barry, Peter Barton, and Dom DeLuise. Several suspects are analyzed Amos and Peter as they investigate the murder of a hated 'psychiatrist to the stars' who was lured to the roof of a high rise by a phony distress call and fatally pushed off the roof to his death.

I loved this episode. The character Ingrid Rose was hilarious!!! The look on Peter's face after she opened that door was priceless. 😁😄😂 Great ending regarding who the killer was and the closing scene with Amos, Peter and Henry was just the right touch! 👍🏾
Hunter Tylo is seriously talented and she's having fun with Ingrid Rose here. This was Paula Prentiss's last tv gig. great twist at the end.

Love watching these shows... and the last minute with the cookies was a very funny scene:))
Peter's tip for the exercise guy should have been "exercise your right to remain silent".
I wonder if Mr. Barry's wardrobe was his own or the studio's. He is always so sharpe. Wow, he is a very classy man. And that walk!

Gene Barry began his career in the days when people knew how to dress with class. As for his walk, Barry started out as a song and dance man on Broadway.
Union rules usually say that an actor has to be provided with a wardrobe. If an actor provides his own clothes, he gets paid a certain amount per article of clothing. That is the way Broadway Equity works and I imagine that is the same for the Screen Actors Guild. I imagine that Mr. Barry had it in his contract to take home all the great clothes he got to wear.
I liked Bat Masterton's outfit better.
Peter Barton is such a handsome creature & he still is up to this day. I so love his accent.

The old show from the 60's was alright, but this version is the best. On top of that Peter Barton brightened up the show.

The one person that wasn’t credited was Teresa Ganzel. I was watching this episode in its original broadcast on CBS. I saw her name in those credits.

May be you need therapy for spoiling this show for everyone but then maybe I should thank you for teaching me a lesson and never read the comments before watching. You could at least warn people. I did watch it because I thought maybe it was a red herring but it certainly didn’t seem as interesting as I had your comment at the back of my mind. I guess it takes all sorts🥰
So I seen so many ppl talk about the original show. Did the guy who is the chief play the same person in the original one and what about his son? Did he have his son working with him then too? And how did that work out? I guess I am asking was it the same set up the Chief the son and the driver was all of them the same ppl in the original one. If not who played who and also was it the same way where he has a son or was the chief the detective then and there was someone else playing the chef am dead it his dad? Do you know if the original is on you tube as well? I would love to watch it. I love detective shows. And even tho I am 36 I love the way this was. I miss these years. The 90s was so much fun to grow up in. I have never heard of this show till I just happen to find it on here an watched one and became addicted to it. Been stuck watching them every sense. Lol I been stuck in bed for 4 days watching this show. Thankfully I have nothing to do. Today was the only day I had to go somewhere and I was able to put it on and set my phone in the holder and play it threw my radio. Lol my kids even like it. They go the girls are so different in this show then they Are on other shows. I go yes because of the 90s when it was made. Actors and actresses wore different clothes and they had a different way about themselves. I was like and even when they was not in a show at home they dressed like.this if they was going somewhere or the house outfits they wore them too. I go we just dressed so different then even kids did as well.

I was expecting when all the suspects will be guilty ... a Hercule Poirot plot spin off.
This version is fluff and corny compared to the original but I still really enjoy it because of Gene Barry who manages to still be Suave and Debonair with this version,if you want to know what I'm talking about check it out it's on TH-cam, great jazz type music very dramatic, but I like this to for the comedy and seeing the stars, also Peter Barton lol

34:40, There's no such thing as a 'Ms', pronounced mzzz. It's a dodge from whether a woman is married or not. That's the business of the world at large, and the only thing that matters about any woman is whether she's married or not. It's Miss or Mrs. like always.
I wonder why it's important to know if a woman is married (Miss or Mrs.), but not important to know if a man is married (only Mr.).
Because whether you like it or not, it's nature. The draw, or pull, is from the female side to the male side. That's nature on this planet and it took men's inventions and systems to make it questionable. It's still a good question and I'm not satisfied with my answer and will work on it some more. It's the kind of thing we all sense but have a hard time defining.

No follow-up answer is going to change your mind. Speaking of not sensing, where is the "women's intuition" I've always heard about? There are plenty of other indications and I'm sure you don't sense them either. I'll keep thinking about it but nature is often a better proof than an explanation that can be disputed. There is still no such thing as an 'ms'. Ironically it took men and their ingenuity to change that and now women that once knew nothing else are telling us it's none of our business whether they're married or not. I always figure out what I work on but sometimes it takes longer. (It's about time I got something challenging. The answers are usually without any reason.) In the meantime it's social nature. My grade school was on a street called Melvina so I should remember yours better.)
