I love that Eugene is obvs VERY passionate about style, bit also VERY talented as a stylist. The thing he said about how a seemingly "simple" outfit can become a statement just by playing with form REALLY got me in the mood to raid my wardrobe and throw some outfits together (and funnily, I'm going to be in a street fashion show next month, so this inspiration came at the PEEFECT time)

one of my strongest Eugene memories is when they were panicking at Keith's wedding about one of his best men not having his pants and Eugene suggested they get him and the other best man different colored pants and said "if it's two it's a choice, if it's one it's a mistake." I use that principle all the time as a graphic designer! If I can't match something exactly I go in the other direction so it looks intentional and not like a mistake.
Eugene predicting sleeveless for Keith, the sheer top for zack and the feminine outfit shows how Eugene knows them so well. He really has an eye for body types and fashion.
I thought the same! I was wondering if he led them, but I don't think so (also Keith was easier to predict since he's so broad he barely fits in Eugene's sleeved tops!)
I think he did try to style them or at least give them notes for what would work, because he said he'd restyle them if they didn't come out in what he wanted for them. So I'm pretty sure the outfits themselves were at least somewhat planned

I love how Eugene said he was going to re-style them all and then when they came out he was just so supportive of the outfits they put together. I also love how they all really tried instead of trying to make it goofy to hide insecurity
They also managed to fall exactly into what he said he wanted from them so I think it's also a nod to how well he knows his friends and selected the pieces for the episode.

You know, after watching this I kind of understand why Eugene was so upset and looked angry in their announcement video. Eugene shared a very important part of himself. His clothing is how he identifies himself and how he expresses that identity. It took a lot of trust and love for him to open that part of his life. So imagine how he must have felt finding out what Ned did and realizing that he shared an intimate piece of himself with someone who was actively lying to and betraying him. That's really difficult and I hope Eugene is doing okay.

Eugene is one of those people who can be so masculine and feminine at the same time and I can’t get my head around it.
As a queer person figuring out how clothes can highlight my identity, hearing Eugene talk about clothes and his identity made me tear up. I love these guys so much.

The bit that stood out most to me was him talking about having loads of different styles. I really appreciated seeing reflected my own swinging between flowy dresses, short tight outfits, masculine suit tops with long skirts etc. Fashion is so pivotal to our identity as queer people and I hadn't raised how much I wanted to see that discussed until Eugene (as always) delivered!
I am straight (unfortunately) but eugene talking about playing with non binary clothes really speaks to me, or playing with different styles. Fashion is absolutely fun, sometimes I want to be feminine and sof, sometimes masculine and intimidating, or just chill lol

I thought the same thing!! I swear there was a shot when Eugene approached him where he was in profile and he looked like a completely different person! Even when he was walking towards the camera, there was an intensity in his look that changed it from the familiar Zach we know. It was a great throwback to the video where he dressed out of his comfort zone for a week. That lace shirt outfit he wore was fire.

We all know why we're rewatching old videos at the moment. I'll ignore that for now because daaaayum, Keith rocks his outfit, and Zach's look is JAWDROPPING. In moments like this I just love what fashion is able to do.

100% the top was amazing but the lower half lost it for me and I think it was because he couldn't walk properly because the shoes were too big.
I think it would have worked better with some sort of boot or a wedge shoe that way Ned would have been a bit more comfortable, it looked even more awkward because he can’t walk in heels. Hell I wouldn’t be able to walk in those heels they were murder shoes.

Something that makes me so incredibly happy is the progression of them being open about being insecure and then immediately hyped up when they can actually pull the looks off. The prom and wedding dress episodes just immediately make me happy. Everyone deserves to experience that feeling

I love how Eugene describes fashion intertwining with identity, sometimes clothes are not just clothes, they can change the whole perception we have of ourselves. If you're having a bad day guys, just wear something nice or put some lipstick on! It changes everything, just try it!
I think that's what I like most about this video. It was similar to Queer Eye where just changing something like the way clothes fit them makes them look better but also view themselves a lot less harshly than they do.
This video gave them all a new way to look at themselves and a new sense of confidence that we didn't get in the other _we dress like X_ video.
I really liked this approach because while we all knew that Eugene has a cool factor much greater than the other Try Guy's this put a nice spin on it showing that they all could have that cool factor, they're not as limited as they think they are and honestly as _we_ probably think they are.
I personally find makeup uncomfortable and annoying, and find the "prettier" you are, the more uncomfortable you are (heels, shapewear, tight clothes, altering the way you move so you don't flash, having to constantly check your face/clothes to make sure they are right....). But each to their own.
THIS! I want that episode so badly now after seeing this. They'd look amazing, I'm sure of that now.

Zach looked the best hands down. The monochrome gave him a slimming effect, while creating a more sophisticated ensemble. The see though blouse showed a more sensual side while the pants formed to his waist and legs completing the look. I think this outfit gave the best feminine on masculine without overwhelming either side. He definitely looked like he was ready to do a Dolce and Gabbana-Chanel-Gucci photo cover

I'm really sad Ned ruined his image by doing some stupid shit. He wasn't my favorite, but it was interesting to watch them as a group cuz he seemed the most normal out of all the guys. Just a typical jock with a wife and kids. Imo it created simplicity and balance. It was something I noticed about Eugene's commentary about the other Try Guys' styles: there are bits he nitpicks but overall he claims every one of them has a trademark and a bod that could KILL a look if they tapped into it.
Especially Keith's. I think Eugune really did this so the other guys can feel more confident about just experimenting and I love their friendship.
