RIP to one of the most influential sportsman of all time
I think it's safe to say he is THE most influential sportsman, or at least football player of all time
The most influential imo
We would have never seen the best team of all time if it wasnt for him
The most* I think it's undisputed.
Like sir Alex Ferguson the goat coach
And Pele the goat international player
Messi the goat Barca and la Liga player
Cristiano the goat man United and real Madrid player

@@palashrawat401 I wouldn't say destroyed but Mourinho did stop Guardiola from winning another treble and snatched the La Liga title from them in 2012
tbh he was himself influenced by his coach Michels and his teammate and captain Velibor Vasović who was best in tiki taka system and leader to everyone and made tiki taka possible at Ajax in late 60s and 70s
@@dzemilmehovic5271 its debatable how much of what happened on the training pitch was determined by Michels
@@shotarodeniet3301 oh thats also true,Cruyff has big share in this, however its Michels who came up with that concept overall. And ofc dont forget Vasovic, before he came-what Cruyff and Michels did was still nothing, they only became relevant after he came,he had very big influence on whole club at that time and was considered the leader there,he was even giving instructions to Michels and every player listened to him.He was kinda everyones older brother there and he materialized most of Michels ideas and he was the one who helped Cruyff most with development, movements, positioning etc.Not to mention that he was rated up there with Moore and Beckenbauer as best central defender when he played, very underrated,he was maybe even better but retired aged 31 due to heart problems after '71 CL win,so not being part of trepeat made him very underrated unfortunately

When youth coaches in Holland would yell at their players to pass the ball quick, one or two touch football, they would yell "tik! tak!" which is the sounds a boot against the ball makes. Tik tak means one touch to take the ball (tik) and one to pass the ball (tak). In football language between players with different languages (S American with Norwegian with Dutch and English for instance), the expression for a game of positioning would be called, we are going to play tikkie - takkie. In Spain, when introduced by the Dutch, it became the Spanish version: tique- taque
Johan Cruyff may not have won the world cup but he definitely is the father of tiki taka which helped Spain win the World Cup and Barcelona win countless trophies. So in a way, Cruyff did indirectly create a football style that dominated world football on all levels
Tiki-taka is an invention that changed the whole foundation of how to play a sport. Just as Ajax did with ‘totaal voetbal’. The same comparison with race car designers that came up with the idea of wings and the use of ground effect. It changed the game completely.
He's the greatest coach ever in my opinion, he might not have a splendid trophy cabinet like Ancelotti or Del Bosque but his philosophy revolutionised football.
Man who changed modern football
Johan Cruyff - the creator of the ground base fundamental of how you can play, its all about the play idéa
His influence revolutionized football and brought it to a whole other level.
Teams went from booting the ball to strikers or just giving the ball to a 10 or just defending and waiting for a counter to clever positional play, taking advantage of spaces, goalkeepers that play from the back and attack minded passing.
Barca has a very unique history, when you focus on how Cruyff said it was first received on Barca. Cruyff himself admitted that it was laughed at. He led them to four consecutive La Liga titles and their first Champions League title.
Rijkaard was very much doubted by a lot of Barca fans when he arrived. A couple of years and a Ronaldinho later, Rijkaard was winning the European Double.
And now, Koeman has arrived, when a lot of Barca fans didn’t want him, with a variation of Cruyff’s style that they didn’t want, and despite it being a time of crisis, in only his first season, has the club on the verge of the Domestic Double, following a trophy-less season, having almost spent not a single penny (The only guy he bought was Dest, after Semedo had been sold for more).
He deserve much more. For me biggest legend ever. Messi is great, but what he did against Cruyff homeland. Respect gone for Messi
Football genius, invented so many styles
I have nothing about respect for Cruyff. What a person, what a player, what a coach...this guy cannot be real. Have read his stuff, can safely say Johan Cruyff is the most important person in football history

The Influence of this Man is Unreal. I always consider him as the GOAT manager because what he brought to football ? Other winners couldn't. Gave a new life to Tactical approach altho it was dead after he retired untill Pep took it over & now running fine.

Actually he was supposed to coach Messi. It was when Guardiola took over as a manager for the very first time. But eventually he didn't because his wife told him not to do so. Why ?? I'd never know..
The style was invented long time ago, I would argue that even before Cruyff managed FC Barcelona, but fhe tiki-taka term was invented by a Spanish journalist called Andrés Montés, who was actually famous because the way he narrated NBA games and the nicknames he had for players. Andrés Montés invented that term during the start of the golden years of Spain NT around 2008.
Best manager of all time he changed football
Give the date and brief context in the description of the videos
The Godfather of Football. Dutch Legend, The King.
Por isso gosto da seleção holandesa
Tiki-taka comes from the legendary spanish reporter Andres Montes (deceased in 2009), who in the Euro 2008 was doing the retransmissions for La Sexta, he also commented many NBA games in Spain, often managing to make the commentary more fun than the game itself.
Yeah. Cruyff called it "total football" at the time
The most influential footballer ever.
never seen him play, but seen him as a coach and thats flawless tactic works with barca
He did the most amazing cross I've ever seen. He was under pressure and holding back a defender near the corner flag and flicked the ball up and catapulted the ball over his head straight down into the box and it was headed in for a goal.

@@jd-rm4ez you wouldnt know. You are probably british. Cruyff is bigger than the premier league👍
@Aditya Luthra That's not true. Cruijff was the real architect behind the scenes. Older Dutch players all tell the stories about how Cruijff was the true leader in the dressing room and that nobody listened to Michels.
@@jd-rm4ez I said this when he was still alive. Cruijff is clearly the trailblazer. Just like how a lot of modern day sci-fi movies or superhero movies wouldn't be a thing if Star Wars didn't pave the way for them. Same with a lot of music that gets sampled or gets inspired by classical pieces. Without those, modern music would've been affected differently.
