One of my favorite watches. If you must homage, go with a watch that would be around $100,000 if you could find a good example in real life. I also liked the turtle you showed. I have the STO and I have that same san martin.
@@TimelineWatchReview mine is not the 1521. It's the atmos 60 which is like 43-44mm similar to the turtle. Your 1521 is 41mm I believe. Nice watch though. I've been impressed with Squale and Steinhart for the price point. I've finally worked my way up to be willing to drop some serious change for a watch.
I have an Ocean one 38mm blue/black, and i love it, Steinhart really is awesome value for money. With regards to homages, mine has a bezel like the rolex batman, but its mostly different. The rolex though is 29x the price...... I can't afford that and i wouldn't wear it. I prefer my Steinhart every time.
I bought one about two years ago. Following the initial proper short wind, after three days, the watch ran 3- 4 minutes fast per day, and then just stopped altogether on the fourth day. This sequence was repeated several times after wearing the watch continuously. I hesitate sending it back to China for service. It either has an ET/24 movement or a Selita. Gnomen is vague about that. For now it just sits on my desk in it's white box and I frown at it once in a while.
Fry me for fish! I couldn't wind it myself due to a stroke. My aid had been winding it in the "ghost" date position. Just turning the date wheel over and over again. Now that it IS being wound properly. it keeps fantastic time. Glad I kept trying..lol.
If you still have the watch, it’s worth testing it to see if it has been magnetised. A few years ago I had an automatic watch that suddenly started gaining a few minutes a day so I bought a cheap demagnetiser and that solved the problem.
I’m sure I do. It really doesn’t bother me that much and it allows me to get the pip lined up. Somehow I scratched the crystal on my Ocean One Premium Blue which I’ll be sending back to Steinhart for repair. I suppose I’ll see how that goes and if it’s quick and painless, I may look into the bezel issue.
For a sec i thought it was a naked women site That intro is really shady ! Iv aboused this watch for 5 years . Im surprised its still going , iv not taken it off for 3 years , washed it in my washing machine , 3 hour long wash it still works , dived to 90m half a doz times , scraped the paint off half the bezel climbing its tough i give it that
I have the Steinhart Ocean 39 Legacy and love it. The vintage patina look, along with the "old radium" lume, is what drove me to purchase that watch.
Super review! These are now back in stock at Gnomon and I just ordered one!
Sweet!

Matt Cowan I saw your SOTC vid. We both have the 1521 as well. I wish I’d gone with one of the polished colorways instead of the matte blue.

try a SPB143. If you find a good one, its arguably better than those that you mentioned.
That backplay looks pretty uncharacteristic for this brand. Do you still have warranty on the watch? If so, I'd send it in for repair.

What is the original color of the nylon strap of the Rolex Mil-Sub 5517 of the British Army ? Black, grey or green?
Admiralty grey

Going too sell my squale militaire too purchase this model
Considering the real Rolex milsub is over 100k, calling it an alternative is kinda silly. It’s not an option for 99% of people.
Still have it?
Yes I do
Rolex copy # omega made the first one for nato ! Use chain lube !!!! CHAIN LUBE STIFFENS UP , SILICONE LOOSENS !!!!
Wrist size?
7 inch, he told it
