Guess who shopped at Talbots for her first time after watching this video? Yep! 💃 Three pairs of pants and two tops later, I’m now a fan. I’ve been a Chico’s gal for 20 years and Soft Surroundings for a dozen (but I’m tired of “everything tunic.” I told the lady at the checkout that I was there because of your videos. I recognized some of the pieces in the store-even the cute top you’re wearing in this video. IDK what kept me away; I always thought Talbots was dressier, but they had plenty of smart casual options.
I love your hair like that. The jacket is gorgeous; I love that Chanel style jackets are having a “moment”. I managed to pick one up in a thrift shop last weekend! My daughter is in her 20s and we watch your videos together. Your tips really do work for all ages. And I blame you entirely for my owning a pair of white jeans for the first time in my life. I love them!

The colors there are all so beautiful and go well together. I wish I could wear those colors. They all look hideous on me. I have to put together completely different colors, hues, and intensities for my skin tone, hair and eyes. I wish I could wear lavender, it's so gorgeous. But what matters is that I look my best in the colors that flatter my skin tone most. I wear my blue jean jacket with dark blue and light blue jeans and I think it looks fabulous. I know people make fun of it sometimes and call that a Canadian Tuxedo, but I don't care. I think it looks fine, especially when I wear my light peach Henley shirt with similar in hue, light blue jeans and my darker medium blue jean jacket, they look marvelous! I believe in experimenting with hues and intensities to make interesting outfits that don't clash, but compliment each other. TY Kay! Wonderful fashion show!

I’m Canadian too, and will proudly wear my denim shirt or jacket with my jeans. Denim/chambray blue is definitely “my” colour. 🇨🇦🙂

Kay, I love your half-do hairstyle! I just got home from a week in Charleston SC and even though I missed this video by a week, I think I did pretty good packing. I love Talbots! Last week in Charleston, I purchased some wonderful new items from the Talbots Outlet. The customer service there was outstanding!

Bonjour, This is one of the best capsule wardrobe I've seen! As a French I feel it's perfect for me, it's very similar to what I wear daily or for a getaway :) Such pieces are timeless yet always look fresh and modern. In spring I replace black with navy blue which I love and looks softer on me. My favourite warm colours for spring are pink and coral, but the lavender you chose is gorgeous! Those of us who don't wear white jeans can still wear colored jeans. It isn't that hard to color coordinate a travel wardrobe to include a pair of colored jeans. I have several, including dark green, light burgundy, black, and light gray. We aren't stuck with regular denim, the kind with the white thread woven in. Twill jeans that are a solid color throughout are available.

This video makes me want to pull out my Spring clothes and play dress up! I really like to wear pullovers over a dress when it's chilly and then I can tie it over my shoulders (or even my waist) when it warms up. I also like to wear nice shirts like your wisteria linen as a shirt jacket, even over the dress if it suits the style. Thanks for some great inspo! I'm also loving your hair style!
Yes, I think I'm getting out all my spring wardrobe today. I'll just wear the cotton sweaters layered over tees on colder days. And we are slated to be back in the 20s next week!

Love these outfits! I’m going to Seattle and Vancouver next week for a week and trying to stay in one small suitcase :) Your tips are always helpful!
As someone who just woke up to a beautiful Seattle morning, the outfits Kay put together are great. Our temps have been in the upper 50's this week but the nights are down in the 30's. As you know, our weather is highly changeable. I would, for sure, include a pair of comfortable, sturdy, and water-repellent shoes--good quality sneakers or leather walking shoes. When the sun is out, it is particularly bright so remember your sunglasses and a hat!

How do you fold your sweater and keep it on your shoulder. Looks great
I sometimes fold the sides in a little. I fold the neckline in and just drape. It generally stays. but if not, just tie it loosely.
Love your outfits that you showed in the videos except the sweater draping. You looked darling! What jeans are you wearing in the presentation? Looks like the pin tuck jeans from Talbots. I have them and love them.

I'd say they are a mid to high rise. They fit me just below the navel. so not an extreme high rise.
Hi Kay - absolutely love both capsule wardrobes you have shown in the last couple of weeks! I have a question: we are heading to Sedona AZ at the end of April for a week and I'm wondering if either of the capsules you have shown would work there for that time of year? Sharing your experience living in AZ will surely help my decision making process! I'm pondering if we need mostly casual, outdoor type clothes only, or a combo? Sedona is absolutely beautiful and this is a great time to go. My daughter and I went there one year at exactly this week and it was perfection. The days are warm, but pleasant and the evenings were just a touch cool. Yes, I'd say this wardrobe would work nicely, but I'd probably switch in a tank for the black and white tee. And I'd definitely take some good hiking/walking shoes and something for that kind of excursion. Lovely hiking there!

I love your videos, but sorry -- no company is inclusive in their sizes if they exclude Tall!
The do offer tall jeans and pants in a few things. I know that is a conundrum. Some of their pants are too short for me and I'm only 5'8". Do you have favorite brands that do include tall sizes? I'd love to know about them.
@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms At 5'8" you are still considered much taller than average. 5 ft 8 is pretty tall. I'm 5'9-1/2". Lately I've been getting my jeans from NYDJ. Also A.N.A., Lee, Gap, Land's End, Old Navy, American Eagle are some others that sell tall size clothing. But I noticed that some companies that cater to an older demographic do not offer tall sizes. It's as if they think that once we pass 50 we all shrink to 5 ft nothing. LOL!
